2 Minutes from Pinehurst #2 and Clubhouse. This is a basic Pinehurst Vacation Cottage. Ideal for a small group or family. The floor plan offers quiet and generous accommodations for six people in three bedrooms. The master bedroom is large with patio walk-out doors. Spacious dressing and closet area with separate bathroom and shower. The two additional bedrooms have each twin beds and ample closet space sleeping 4.
Stayed here for a couple of nights during Hurricane Matthew and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. There was a total of 9 of us and I never once felt crowded! Great place for a weekend getaway with friends and family. Everything was clean and spacious. Would spend time there again even if there wasn't a storm!
Nice neighborhood and dog friendly environment. John checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and answered the few questions we had. I have stayed in fancier places, but this was perfect for us and our pets. We were five minutes from the Pinehurst clubhouse and in a great neighborhood for walking our dogs.
The house was in a great location for what we needed but that was the only positive. The house smelled of mildew as soon as you walked in, the bathroom was disgusting- mold, gross shower, bugs, etc. on the floor. We had to go out and buy toilet paper and hand soap because there wasn't enough for the first night and no extras anywhere. Sheets were on every bed but 1. In the kitchen, all of the large bowls had cracks and holes in them so you couldn't use them. Dishes weren't clean, had to wash everything before using. I emailed the owner to let them know about our stay and they said they had a cleaning lady and thanks for letting them know... We won't be staying here again.
We really enjoyed staying here, it was really nice and convenient location close to downtown and the Pinehurst courses. The neighborhood is really nice. It looked like the kitchen had been updated from when the pictures were taken. The owner was great to work with and helped make our trip a success.
The beds were very comfortable. Furniture and kitchen are dated but for the price worked out well. Location in a quiet neighborhood. Wifi was excellent. There is only one TV in the house but it has Netflix and regular cable. The kitchen is very basic. There is a microwave and new toaster. The stove is old and cooks very uneven and the cookware is stainless so I had difficulty cooking. Also, missing basics like a measuring cup and measuring spoons. However, owner keeps leftover seasonings and some supplies there so be sure to go through the cabinets to save some $$ on the grocery bill if you plan on cooking. We had a great week at Pinehurst and enjoyed the house.
Overall, my stay at Burning Tree Rd was as expected...the house is clean and comfortable, located conveniently, and dog friendly. A few things the owner may want to address....the front door lock is not secure, adding a deadbolt would be a plus; adding curtains to the master bathroom window would provide a little more privacy; seemingly minor, but in a full functional kitchen, a toaster would make breakfast a lot better (that is something one would normally not bring when traveling). This is my second time this year renting this house and for me it is a good place to stay / would do it again in the future.
