About the property

1BR/1Bath Apartment, 1 1/2 Blocks Off The Town Square

Beautifully furnished and decorated apartment located in the circa 1880, Mattie Rousser House. This historic home was divided into three lovely apartments during the depression era. Enjoy the one bedroom suite comfortably furnished with queen bed, down pillows, high thread count hotel sheets, and ample closet space. Additional sheets and blankets are in the front armoire. You will find a nicely appointed bathroom with a pocket door between the full tile shower and the toilet/vanity powder room. There is an additional door from the Master bedroom to the shower room, so you can use it as a powder room, a full bath or a Master bath. Hair dryer, shampoo, hair conditioner and towels are provided. The living area is a great place to relax with a very comfortable leather couch, flat screen TV with cable and internet. The eat in kitchen is adjacent with a antique drop leaf table, full appliances, dishes, silverware, and spices. It is ready to make a meal or take a 90 second or so walk to several eateries . Relax on the shaded patio or take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the many quaint shops on the square. A Keurig K-cup coffeemaker with stocked options awaits you when you wake, or stumble a few hundred feet to the Galaxy Bakery & Coffee House (Rated #4 nationally on the Learning Channel’s Bodacious Bakery segment.) Or a little over 2 blocks will get you to the Monument Café where Mathew McConaughey (his mom lives here) invited his good friend Guy Fieri,( host of The Food Networks “Diners-Drive Inns and Dives”) to his favorite organic based diner for some food festivities.

We personally searched across the Nation for the best place to live. Come and see why we chose Georgetown, Texas as the perfect fit.

About Lawrence Romero

Tom and Debbie: We started our married life here in Georgetown in 2006. Tom has lived and worked in Georgetown for the past 20+ years. We started Green Earth Builders together in 2005 and purchased and remodel the property you will be staying in. Our first home together was an historic house on Main Street. Our second home was another historic home on Elm Street. We lovingly remodel both of these homes. We are now almost finished with our present old home on Wilbarger Point which overlooks Southwestern University and Georgetown. We have a passion for restoration and decorating. Green Earth Builders helps sponsor the annual Heritage Society Holiday Home tour. Our own and several of our client’s homes have been featured over the years.

Why Lawrence Romero chose Georgetown

After looking nationwide, we feel that Georgetown offers the best balance of small town charm and friendliness in comparison to “Big City Livin”

What makes this apartment unique

Location! Location! Location!

The main house was built on the square and dragged by mule teams to its present location in the 1880’s. There is no closer vacation rental to the Historic County Square.

Perfect place to stay in Georgetown

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time I have stayed at this property (there are other units available). As with my previous stay, I was 100% satisfied. The apartment is very comfortable and attractive. It is one block off the square and perfect to take a walk around. Parking is easy and the owners are great to work with. I will definitely stay here every time I am in Georgetown and have no hesitation recommending the accommodations.

Great location accommodations

  • 5 of 5

This house was in a great location- literally drove our car to the house on Friday and didn't drive it again until Sunday morning at 11:00 when we checked out. The small courtyard was great for eating our breakfast from nearby Galaxy bakery outside and Friday night enjoying the night air. Clean and spacious I recommend Suite #3 for a relaxing getaway to Georgetown.

Terrible and disappointing experience

  • 1 of 5

Owner failed to change codes and I was left standing in the rain trying to get in. After finally reaching the owner, he "remembered" that he had forgotten to let me know that he had changed my reservation from the apartment I booked to a different apartment. Still I was left standing in the rain until he "remembered" that he had failed to change the entry code to the door to the number he had instructed me to use via written instructions he sent to me in an email. During my stay, I discovered that the coffee maker did not work. It was a Keurig and needed to be descaled. I contacted the owner who said he would either fix it or replace it during my stay. This never happened so I had to walk to local coffee shops or cafes to have coffee which was an added expense that I should not have had to incur. I even offered to clean it myself if he would supply the descaling solution he preferred to use. Promises were made by the owner but never kept. Also, despite paying a cleaning fee, the apartment contained a list of instructions to clean the apartment before leaving and to take out the trash. I left the apartment cleaner than it was when I entered it and called the owner when I found a prior tenant's Fitbit while sweeping the floors. There was no excuse for the Fitbit not being found if the apartment was properly cleaned. Lastly, I paid a refundable damage deposit to the owner which he has failed to return to me despite repeated texts and phone calls to him. This was my first time using HomeAway and I'm keenly disappointed in the experience. I've called customer service regarding my non-refunded damage deposit and all that they would do is provide me with the owners phone number which, of course, I already have. I expected a much better experience.

Nice.

Unfortunately there were problems with the property and we had to stay elsewhere. Lawrence went out of his way to try to accommodate our needs since there was a problem.
