Arkansas has always been my home and the beauty of Eureka Springs captured my heart.....and here I am.
Betsy Rodier purchased this cottage in 2007
Eureka Springs was a favorite destination of mine and my very favorite place to stay was always Elk Street Cottage with its magical charm and great proximity to everywhere I wanted to go. I bought the cottage in 2007 and would love to have you as my guests.
The cottage is spacious and open with a very relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy sitting on the front porch or grilling on the patio. It is located on a peaceful street in the Historic District with off street parking and only a 5 min walk to the center of downtown.
This cottage is charming, beautifully furnished, very clean, and well-located. However, we were unable to get a good night's sleep because the beds were so soft. We even checked out early to ease our aching backs. The property manager was not responsive to our plight, which was a disappointment, but maybe future guests will have the benefit of firmer mattresses.
The pictures on this website do not do justice to the Elk Street Cottage. It is absolutely beautiful! There are so many beautiful details and accent pieces in the cottage that make it such an amazing place to stay. My mom, sister and I stayed here for a girls' weekend trip and loved it! If there were nothing to do in Eureka Springs (which there are plenty of things to do!!), you could spend the entire time in the cottage or in the landscaped yard. Each morning I wanted to get up early and have breakfast or lunch on the side patio or backyard (it is too pretty for words), but I slept in late every morning and enjoyed the cottage a little too much. However, my mom and sister loved having breakfast on the front patio with the neighbor cat! The shops and restaurants are just a short walk from the Elk Street Cottage. There are some wonderful hiking trails around the downtown area that are a must. What an unforgettable trip!
This is simply the perfect Eureka Springs experience. I always adore my visits to Eureka Springs, and I will enjoy many more in the future... but this was my first stay at the Elk Street Cottage, and I don't plan to stay anywhere else when I come back! The cottage is immaculately clean with old-world charm and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need, including coffee, biscotti and even a delicious little box of chocolates to welcome our arrival! I'm not much of a 'bath person', but I could not resist pampering myself in that amazing tub twice during our weekend stay! Betsy has thought of everything... wifi, beautiful linens, whimsical touches throughout the cottage. She even made an emergency delivery on a shortage of a 'bathroom essential' within 15 minutes of my email. :) Just two of us, we used only one of the bedrooms, but there's plenty of room to stretch out in this cottage for more. (I'm already planning a girl's weekend.) Nothing better than rocking on the front porch with a glass of wine, or enjoying your morning coffee at the table in the side yard. Very private, quiet residential area.... but you're within a 5-minute walking distance to all the dining, shopping and nightlife downtown (we only attempted the walk once due to the cardiac hill on the way back:), but there's a trolley stop just a few houses up the street from the cottage that will take you everywhere you want to go... downtown, the Crescent Hotel, etc.... and back again. Restaurants are just a very short stroll away from the cottage (loved Ermilio's Italian Restaurant). This place is a gem, truly delightful -- can't wait to come back!!! Thanks, Betsy.
