Wonderful Relaxing Weekend.

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at River View was really lovely. Cottage is well decorated, very clean and peaceful. We loved walking to the beaches and around the Tidal Basin. The front deck was perfect for watching birds in the salt marsh in the morning and spectacular sunsets over the river in the evening. And the cool ocean breeze during the night was divine. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend and highly recommend this cottage!

Great Little Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

My sister, mom, and I had a peaceful stay at Peter's cottage. It was very clean, bright and airy and Peter brought us extra beach chairs and fans and was easy to reach and very accommodating. We loved the deck and outdoor shower! Very close to the beach, but also a short drive to Newburyport, it was also in a great location. We would rent again!

Great Mini Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was awesome! Great views of the sunset and the boats going down the river. Vthe walk to the beach was not bad. Place was clean and well stocked. Thanks for letting us stay at your little paradise. Peter was great dealing with. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood on Plum Island. Don and I would definitely rent again. The outdoor shower was a big plus, used it everyday. The only thing missing was HGTV for a rainy day lol

Fantastic stay at Plum Island Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a fantastic stay at Peter and Kiersten's beach cottage. We have rented many different homes and this was one of our favorites. Peter was incredibly responsive and flexible when booking. The description and pictures were accurate and the cottage was immaculate upon arrival. The cottage had everything you could need including sheets and towels, such a plus! The decks were a big hit, we ate outside every evening. The location is great, close to the beach, the stores, and one of the more private lots.

We will absolutely return again!

Plum Island is a beautiful barrier island with ecclectic beach homes, miles of sandy beaches and access to a bustling quaint New England town (Newburyport).

The southern stretch of Plum Island is mostly a federal preserve called the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, with miles of beaches, walking trails, and observation decks which are great for viewing wildlife that include birds, butterflies, deer, and owls. The state's breathtaking Sandy Point State Reservation is located on the southern tip of the island.

Newburyport is a postcard-pretty New England seaport with stately Federalist-style homes, a lively downtown, and sunset cruises. About 45 minutes north of Boston, Newburyport is centrally located for touring not only Eastern Massachusetts and other North Shore communities, but also southern New Hampshire and Maine. Like many seaports, its downtown is filled with small arts and crafts shops with nautical and New England themes, good restaurants, and the occasional night spot. As you walk along the brick sidewalks, you'll see historic mansions, gardens, and old mill buildings converted into shops. Summer concerts and events are often held at a park that abuts the Merrimack River before it feeds into the Atlantic Ocean.
