A lovely setting right on Lake Champlain.
If you are looking for a “Camp-type” place to stay we recommend it. The photos look less rustic than the place actually is. We had to pay extra for sheets and towels.
We loved the location and the house was super fun. Great wrap-around porches! Would love more room for storage (drawers and cabinets were full), at least one bigger bed and more attention to cleaning (cobwebs and repairing ripped screens in the rooms). What a spot and a wonderful house full of charm and history!
Thank you so much for visiting Glen Eyrie and for your feedback. We have humanely vacationed the spiders and repaired the screens. Your feedback helps us know how our rental is seen through the eyes of the renter - what you are looking at and for and is much appreciated. We always try to accommodate and improve upon wherever we can. Best wishes from Glen Eyrie - Where Eagles Fly.
Rustic and gorgeous
A true Vermont experience!
Great weather most of the time.
Our family has loved this place for generations!
Our family has loved this place for generations! We haven't been here for a while, but now planning on returning next summer too!
A lovely, relaxing gem right on the lake.
We just spent a few days at this special place and were treated to Vermont's fall delights. The house is well-kept, comfortable, clean and spacious. The woodwork throughout the home, and stone fireplace make it feel warm and rustic. The house sits feet away from the Lake Champlain, with an inviting wrap-around porch to view it all, and a dock as well. The sun-rise and sun-sets are amazing, and can be seen from the porches and rooms too! Though other homes are near, when looking out to the lake, it feels beautifully solitary. Burlington is an easy, scenic ride by car. This is a truly special place for singles, couples, families, friends...
There is a great general store one town over in Charlotte (where the ferry to Essex, NY is located)… also a 5 minute drive to Cookie Love - in North Ferrisburgh on Hwy 7 - fresh homemade cookies and maple creemies - the best in the state! You can hike up Mt. Philo or swim in Lake Champlain. We sail or kayak in the summer - take out the canoe, and cross-country ski across the fields in the winter.
