About Brian Smith
The owners grew up in the Connecticut area, enjoy travel, skiing, watersports, and are currently living internationally, but expect to return to this property full time, someday. Frequent users of VRBO for vacation rentals.
Brian Smith purchased this House in 2013
Why Brian Smith chose Goshen
Knowing this lake well, when we became aware that this property was available we contracted for it even before being able to see it in person. It is the oldest of very few houses built on this lake.
What makes this House unique
This lake has only ten houses on it. The shoreline on the opposite side is unoccupied and is protected from development by a historic boy scout camp and woodlands. One of few places in the world that it gets dark enough to really enjoy the stars.

Beautiful, serene waterfront property. Owner was responsive and house was well appointed. We had a wonderful Christmas week. Would highly recommend this home to anyone.
Great setting, everything you could ask for! Cleanest VRBO place we have ever had! Will be returning for sure. Very relaxing!!! Very quiet!! Gorgus view of the pond. The property manager Kristen was extremely helpful in getting us settled into the house. We didn't want to leave..
Just returned from our second visit here. Lovely house- clean, spacious, and open. The lake is wonderful and private. A perfect retreat for our extended family to get together. Highly recommended.
What a pleasure to relax in Goshen
Kitchen, bathrooms, setting, location, where do I begin. Brian & Co do a wonderful job at renting this spacious house on Wend End Pond. There were so many boats and kayaks that our grandchildren never had a dull moment. The attention to details and appointments made our stay an absolute dream for my wife and my two son's families. We would love to stay here again sometime in the future.
Ideal for a peaceful vacation
Very well equipped and maintained. Large collection of boats to enjoy the small magical lake. Most sleeping rooms face that beautiful lake. Perfect for a relaxing enjoyable vacation
The reviews were great and the photos inviting. Nevertheless, I never imagined a place this nice at this price point. It is an old house that has been completely redone inside. It looks like something out of a magazine--great furnishings, new kitchen, luxurious baths, etc. The waterfront has everything an active family could want--a boat, stand-up paddle board, kayaks, a canoe. We were six adults--my husband, my self, out two children, their spouses, and our 9 month old granddaughter. We had lots of space to spread out. The queen and king sized beds were super comfortable. The house was equipped with a Pack N' Play and high chair. We had a perfect three days. My only regret is that we didn't book a few more days.
Goshen is a secluded rural community in the heart of the Litchfield Hills. 5 minutes to skiing, 40 mins to Tanglewood the Summer home of the Boston Symphony, Antiquing, legendary car racing at Lime Rock Park, great restaurants, minutes to the Housatonic and Farmington fly fishing areas, whitewater canoing, the BEST Fall leaves. minutes to Mohawk State Park and Ski area, minutes to White Memorial Nature preserve.
