This is an amazing property with lots to do in winter. Cross country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, sliding. We spent an extended Christmas vacation with lots of family and guests. There is plenty of room, the cottage is very well equipped and I could not say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Paul and Paulette!
Rented the cottage with my wife and 7 children, was absolutely fantastic. Lots of space, fantastic deck and amazing views and trails. Arrived seeing wildlife ( fox and deer ) and left seeing wildlife ( hawk and deer). Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the deck over looking the river. Kids loved jumping and fishing off the dock for hours. Cheaper than hotels, had less luggage thanks to laundry facilities, food was cheaper as we hit the local Costco in St John (35min drive) to stock up. The owners and neighbours couldn't have been any friendlier. Thank you for a great vacation.
Our "girls getaway" at the cottage was more than we expected. The pictures do not do this beautiful cottage justice. The views are amazing. The cottage is very spacious with everything you ever need to feel at home. It is very inviting inside and outside. I highly recommend for families, a romantic get a way, what ever your heart desires, this is the perfect location .... A definitely must see!
What a beautiful place to go to relax and enjoy your family. This vacation home is everything and more. The view is breathtaking and the cottage is beautiful. I will definitely be returning this summer.
I felt at home immediately walking in the door of this beautiful 2 storey house! The view from any window is incredible whether the back yard forest and trails or the front view of the Saint John River. The 'locals' (deer) even made an appearance at dusk...just hanging out on the lawn checking on us. The kind owners were prepared for our arrival and very gracious. The house was warm and cozy in every room, that says a lot for mid February. The kitchen is equipped with every comfort of home. We couldn't have asked for anything more and can't wait to return!!
Welcome, enjoy your stay, and please treat it like your home. This is a great community with super “country neighbors,” if you meet them say hello and introduce yourself.
As you look directly out your front door, across route 102, and down the gravel road is the beach. A short walk (3 minutes) or if you wish you can drive down the road.
To your right is my primary residence, which is a renovated 250+ year old farmhouse, the gazebo, and to the right of the farm house is a small older outbuilding.
Immediately to your right is the “barn”, the main floor of the barn is predominately storage and a workshop. Upstairs in the barn, are a boardroom, extra bedrooms, a kitchen, and an exercise area.
The tree line to your left is the upriver boundary line of my property. That line runs all the way from the river, past the Glenwood Cottage, and then continuing almost 3km behind the cottage.
The downriver boundary line is located 2 properties downriver. If you take the road from the Glenwood Cottage, that passes in front of the barn and go straight across the apple orchard, you will eventually see another older barn on your left. From that point the downriver property line is on the other side of the pond. It too extends from the river back approximately 3km.
Total property to explore is about 225 acres. Both property lines have been recently blazed and marked should you decide to venture off trail.
The properties have lots of walking, skiing, snowshoeing trails, on them and an abundance of deer, fox, beaver, and other wildlife. Total there is about 15km of trails. For further detail see the trail map.
