Disclosures & Transportation Requirements:

This property is gorgeous and outside of town. Being outside of town, this property comes with a few changes to normal city-life, including keeping in mind that transportation may be more difficult and communication is not as convenient.

Winter Transportation: 4 wheel drive with good tires required for final 1/2 mile to house from highway. If you are at all uncertain about driving past garage up to the house (steepest part of driveway), we advise leaving vehicle at the garage and walking up the 39 stairs to the walk-out basement. Don’t chance it unless you’re sure. We take no responsibility for any damage done to vehicles on the property and damage done to any property will be guests' responsibility. Stairs may or may not be clear of snow and/or ice upon arrival depending on the weather. Proceed with caution and remember that mountain living can require some extra time, attention & TLC.

Summer Transportation: 2 wheel drive is sufficient to get all the way to the house past the garage.

WiFi Usage: The WiFi in our neighborhood is satellite and METERED. It is high-speed, but there is a 1 second longer response after clicking a link. Since it is metered, we are limited to 10 GB of data per month. Therefore, streaming video and music of any kind is not permitted (Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, Pandora, etc.). If you overuse the WiFi, then all internet access will slow to dial-up speed and it will become frustrating to use. For example, five (5) hours of video streaming will use the entire 1 month of data. Therefore, to be fair to other guests, your usage will be monitored during your stay. Excess usage and/or streaming will incur a fee of $15 per GB for usage above 0.33 GB per day for your stay. Checking Facebook and Email and surfing the internet take up minimal data. Limiting yourself to these activities will help you avoid the excess usage fee.

Cell Phone and Telephone Communication: The property comes with a private cell phone tower and booster. The booster is mounted near the loft/kitchen area. Reception is limited to this area for Verizon customers. Sprint customers may be able to get some reception. AT&T customers may get very limited reception. We have not tested other providers. Therefore, you are welcome to use the in-house land line for any call in the U.S. and Canada. Any International calls (outside the U.S. and Canada) will incur a fee in the amount of $4 per minute unless this amount does not cover the call in which case the fee will be the cost of the call plus $1 per minute.

About Greg Esau

Latonya grew up in the Shenendoah Valley in Virginia and Greg grew up in Wichita, KS. They met in Harrisburg, PA and have lived in Queretaro, Mexico; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Houston, TX. In 2013 they moved to Summit County as it has been a dream of Greg's to live in Colorado ever since he came up the area to ski when he was young.

Greg Esau purchased this house in 2013

Why Greg Esau chose Northwest

We (Greg and Latonya) love our home here in Silverthorne. The waterfall and stream are amazing in the summer. The aspens are so beautiful during the summer and fall. And the winter is just gorgeous after a fresh snow. We love that we're still close to I-70 for easy access to Denver, but in a country setting where we can hardly see any of our neighbors off the deck.

What makes this house unique

The star gazing here is spectacular - no city lights! The hot tub is awesome in the evening. This is definitely a unique location because you're so close to I-70, but off the beaten path for some peace and quite. And you can't beat the sound of the waterfall just off the deck to lull you to sleep and energize your day.

Great family log home. The pictures tells it all.

We are happy with our stay this Spring Break. The only problem is right after we pass Silverthorn town up to the cabin there was no phone signal or GPS. Everyone in the car has all major phone company but still no signal. We also rented a tablet from Budget car rental that allows us to use GPS, internet, and HotSpot, but still it did not have signal. We are looking forward for another stay. Anyone want to stay here must have your map prints out of places you want to visit since internet can be a problem. We got to use the house Wi-Fi but it was not unlimited and fast, so we were afraid we drain it all out.

Picture Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at many VRBO's and this one was by far the best experience. The communication with the owners allowed for a perfect visit, the home is beautiful and comfy, not to mention the breathtaking views from every window. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway to the slopes, this is it, as town was about 10 minutes away and the slopes were an easy 20 min drive, we loved it and will rent this one again.

Great views ,well stocked, cleanest rental house i ever seen.very convinient location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in this beautiful home with my family in February. House is insanely clean and fresh(so I understand were does the cleaning fee go) its always nice not see stains, dirt, bugs but this house is from an other level.Very nicely decorated and all you need is there. Hot tub was very large and worked just perfect.

It is in very good location, close to keystone( 10min drive I would estimate)

it is about 1.5hrs away from Denver at night and when there is no snow in area.

It is very HIGH in mountains, so who ever is going there should know that its I believe somewere between 8000-9000 above sea level. Owners informed us about that before making reservation,so our shortage on breath is completely on us. For some one who doesn't have a problem in high altitudes this is the best place to be in because we did got altitude sick and felt dizzy 24/7,but again like I said, that's just us that have a altitude problem(we didn't even know)

High country snow mobile tour was great and again its only 10mins away from this beautiful cabin.Keep in mind you don't need to bring winter cloths to snow mobile tour they provide helmets, cloths, snow pants and all nine yards.

I would also like to thank owners for recommending 4x4 vehicle not just for the access to the cabin but for Colorado period.it started snowing and us being used to our range rover at home we probably would of ended up down the mountain some were off the highway. So get 4x4 or AWD and have fun in this beautiful, well stocked, extra clean home in very good location

Perfect cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 6 had a great time renting this property for 4 days in February. The owners are very easy to do business with and we look forward to renting again! Side note, if you are getting a rental car for your stay, make sure you get a 4 wheel drive for the snow... our Toyota Corolla rental could barely make it up the street to the house, let alone the driveway!

Wonderful!!! Great Cabin! Awesome location and wonderful owners!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful visit. The communication from the owners was spectacular all through the process. The home is stocked with everything you need to have a comfortable visit and to cook meals. We got great use out of the hot tub looking over the valley. Heated bathroom floors were an awesome treat. Silverthorne is such a lovely place and the views and location to Vail was perfect to stay out of the hustle of downtown Vail. We really enjoyed The Mint for dinner as per a recommendation from the owners. We plan to be back over the summer and will definitely rent here again. Thank you Greg and Latanya!!!!!
