A WONDERFUL LOCATION, A LOVELY HOME
Six women stayed at the house for a long weekend of fun!
The house- it is a beautiful old house, with a wonderful smell. The kitchen is well stocked, the living room is so very cozy, the dining room table is perfect for eating and card games, the beds are comfortable, the outdoor shower is private and is sunny/starlit, and the lawn is soft to lie on and look up at the Milky Way. There are lots of books and art and photos in the house, which make it great to explore.
The Location-- is ideal. You can walk up to the lighthouse in one direction, and a short walk to the village in the other direction. The Sconset Village has a general store (get there early for a famous Sconset blueberry muffin), a post office, sandwich shop, restaurant, and old world charm. The beach is right in the village. Lovely sand, surf and Seals! Walk from the beach to get a drink at the Summer House (expensive-but strong drinks and lovely couches on the beach). Another day we took the Wave, which is the public bus, to Nantucket Town. It runs regularly and is a good alternative if you want to avoid driving and have a drink with dinner. One day we took the bus to town, rented bikes from Youngs (great service and bikes), rode out to Cisco Beach, then to Bartlett farms, then to the Cisco Brewery for music-food trucks-beer, and then back to Town . An amazing day.
The Public Bluff Walk is a must do.
Bo was a great laid back guy to deal with.
Thank you Bo for sharing this delightful house.
Second year in a row to a wonderful, charming house
I stayed here last year and knew after the first day I would come back. It is a special place to be: very private with beautiful views and landscaped lawns front and back; a short walk to a mostly deserted beach; and a short walk to Sconset and it's quaint charm. It is a throw back in time place where you forget about everything else except the stars and Milky Way and seals at the beach, and the naps you can take with the ocean breeze through the open windows. There is air conditioning, if you want it but I did not even think about it, and a TV and internet connection, which was never a thought for me. Well, in all honesty I did do some computer work for 2 hours on a rainy Friday morning, but then took a nap the rest of the afternoon, so the internet does work :-)
The house was clean and charming, and the owner easy to work with and informative.
The listing description was very accurate.
I would highly recommend this home provided you wanted to relax, have fun, entertain friends, have a romantic getaway, go to a beautiful beach, and walk through a quaint town filled with cottages covered with flowers and surrounded by gardens, and get ice cream at the general store each night.
You must have at least one sandwich at Claudette's Sandwich Shop, and dinner/drinks at the Summer House or The Chanticleer Restaurant & Gardens.
It's truly a special place...thanks Bo.
Stuffed with Nantucket character, and evidence of many years of happy beach vacations.
Location, location, location!!
Our family had a wonderful summer visit to this charming cottage on the bluff. The description of the location does not do it justice-- it's paradise! There are stunning views from every front window. You can see the sun bouncing off the waves right from your bedroom window. Grab a book about the local history and pick one of the many cozy spots in the house, or head to the close beach. You won't regret booking this one!
