137 Evian is a peaceful, comfortable, pet-friendly vacation villa located in the Shipyard Plantation on Hilton Head Island. Our villa is 100% owner managed, so unlike all the Management Company properties now on VRBO, what you see is what you get! Great rates, and no management company fees or "bait and switch" to another property.

For dog owners who hate having to put the family pet in a kennel during the family vacation, renting our pet-friendly villa by the beach is certainly a win-win for you and your dog.

This is a 2-bedroom, 1st floor end-unit within the Evian complex, one of the prettiest complexes on the island. It's a very private, quiet location, at the end of the cul-de-sac. From the back patio, there is a lovely wooded view. That combined with the holly bush planted just beyond the patio creates a peaceful haven for bird-watchers. (We have in the past been visited by owls.) Just behind the shrubbery lies the fairway of the first hole of the Shipyard Golf Club's Brigantine course. Yet there's plenty of privacy.

The Evian complex has six tennis courts available on a first-come-first-serve basis, a community pool, and walking/biking trails (great for morning runs and dog walks.) We have tennis rackets and bikes available!

The villa sleeps five, with a king bed in the master, two twins in the second bedroom, and two rollaway twins available as well. Both bathrooms have been upgraded and the kitchen is fully equipped.

The villa is our home away from home, stockpiled with many of the usual comforts of home - books, games, puzzles, CD player, blender, high-speed internet, and cable TV. There is a new 50" HDTV in the living room, with On Demand programming access (the free stuff only!!!).

The condo is approximately a 20 minute walk or 8 minute bike ride to the beach, accessed at the Shipyard Beach Club. We ride bikes to the beach (and ON the beach here in HHI), especially during the summer months when parking is hard to come by. For guests who would like to park at the beach however, we provide a parking pass that enables you to do so.

Dogs are allowed on the beach year round, BUT during the summer months that is restricted to certain times of the day. Signs are posted at the beach that provide the specifics. Our dogs love their morning and evening walks on the beach.

With all the bike trails in Shipyard and along the main arteries of the island, cycling is a great way to get around. Within an easy ride you can pick up supplies at the supermarket, rent videos, play a game of miniature golf, and get an ice cream or a meal.

The golf facilities on the island are, of course, excellent, and there are plenty of them. That being said, there are many, many other ways of wonderfully passing the time: sunset catamaran cruises, kayak into the creeks for dolphin spotting, fishing in the lagoons, etc.

The island also has a great selection of restaurants, from Malaysian curries to French fine dining. And seafood and barbecue of course!

Fine Print Items:

Summer Rentals are Saturday - Saturday (checkout Saturday by 10 a.m.). During the other seasons, check-in/check-out days are flexible, with a 3 night minimum stay.

A 50% deposit is required to hold a reservation. This deposit must be made by check, credit card, or E-Check within 10 days of receiving the rental agreement we provide. The remainder of the payment must be made 30 days prior to your arrival.

Other logistical details and rental rules are provided in our electronic rental agreement.

Our pet fee is $100 per week for up to 2 dogs.

Please note that bath towels and bed linens are provided, but beach towels (or dog towels) are not.

About Dave and Barbara Armstrong

Our family first vacationed on Hilton Head Island in 1999, and we've been coming back ever since. From the first time we visited, we knew we'd retire and live here some day. That day hasn't come yet, but our Evian villa puts us one step closer to it. Our three grown children enjoy coming back to HHI as much as we do, and have already been using the villa more than us! And don't tell our New Jersey friends, but we don't miss the Jersey Shore!!!

Why Dave and Barbara Armstrong chose Hilton Head Island

When we first visited HHI, we began looking at real estate, more as a fun thing to do than anything else. One day we snuck into Shipyard from the beach on our bikes and we first saw the peacefulness and solitude of Shipyard and Evian in particular. Our Evian villa is at the end of one of the Evian cul-de-sacs, and is the perfect location for us and our dogs. A first floor unit, it's quiet and comfortable, and there is plenty of outdoor space for dog walking. We look forward to living here some day, but until then I hope you will enjoy vacationing at our villa with your family (including your dogs).

Perfect for our family

The villa was very clean, well equipped and a bit more secluded than others on Shipyard. We have two dogs and the fact that the floors are not carpeted was a plus even though they don't shed. Dave and Barbara are excellent hosts, and very easy to contact. We chose to leave ahead of bad weather but we had a great time while we were there.

lovely, comfortable and convenient location

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely, clean, 2 bedroom 2 bath villa. The kitchen was well stocked, even had 2 coffee makers, one a keurig. The villa is very nicely decorated and comfortable and stocked with books and games. There is an outside storage area with beach chairs,umbrellas etc. We felt right at home and so did our dog. We enjoyed the private beach at Shipyard, very dog friendly! Thank you Dave and Barbara!

Shipyard Villa pet friendly

I loved the end unit, we disappointed in the cleanliness of the bedrooms. Like the cleaning company forgot how to dust and vacuum behind beds etc. Other than that, the place was a perfect size for our family and 2 dogs.

The unit had anything you could possibly need

The Shipyard location ,amenities and information left by owner helped make our vacation memorable. A few minor updates would make the condo perfect. The sofa cushions need new foam padding and the bedroom lamps need brighter bulbs if you want to read in bed.. We would definitely consider renting it again on our next visit to Hilton Head Island

Great location within the plantation, comfortable and good sized bedrooms

When we walked in, we were immediately happy. Large living room, large kitchen with lots of storage, a great master bathroom and nice, comfortable seating.

We were very happy, particularly so with our proximity to the beach and some of the small amenities found in the outdoor storage. Our son loved having his own room, and though our daughter stayed in our room , there was plenty of space for her pack and play.

One thing to note, there's no assigned parking, and it's a first floor unit, which made move in very easy. Our upstairs neighbors weren't bad, but if it would drive you crazy to hear footsteps above every so often, that's one thing to keep in mind.

We really liked it, the owners reached out when the unit was clean and ready for move in, and i really loved the keyless entry. Made getting in and out with kids very straightforward.

We'll definitely be interested in staying here again and couldn't recommend it enough. Thanks!!!!
