Welcome to Seaside Inn - we are veteran owned and operated (USMC!). We purchased this gorgeous property in March of 2014 and we hope to be the best little resort on West Bay Beach.
Seaside Inn is located on a fairly-level sandy lane within two minutes walking distance from the shore. The location is awesome! We’re nestled in the jungle away from all the bustle of the beach but close enough to enjoy the restaurants, bars and activities West Bay has to offer.
We have a new, beautiful private pool! Our guests can lounge around our pool for a lazy vacation day or enjoy a nice evening cocktail after a hard day of playing on the island. Our pool is not open to the public – it is for Seaside Inn’s private use :).
A delicious breakfast will be served during high season, November 15, 2014 – April 30, 2015. We have a wonderful daily special gourmet choice, along with a second hearty choice of potatoes/eggs/ham or bacon/toast or a lighter option: yogurt parfait with homemade granola layered with non-fat vanilla yogurt, topped with fresh fruit. There are also two other “Grab & Go” choices, a very tasty egg/ham/cheese breakfast sandwich or bagel and cream cheese.
Unlike the mega resorts, we are a small private resort which provides our guests with a calm, quiet retreat away from the crowds. We cater to our guests and strive to provide a wonderful stay on this incredible island.
We have 4 rental units available at this time. The Gecko is a detached 1 bedroom bungalow with a full kitchen, living area, bedroom and bath - VRBO Listing #564852 and the Toucan and Macaw are studio suites - VRBO Listings #564850/564851 - each with kitchenettes and a private tiled bath. If you’re a diver, there’s a 5-star PADI dive center located on the beach at the end of our road. If you love to snorkel then you’ll be glad to know that Roatan is surrounded by a fantastic close-in reef just feet from the shore.
West Bay beach is stunning, crystal clear turquoise water with a white sandy beach. And it’s all just a short stroll from our property where there are many restaurants, bars and resorts offering activities such as para-sailing or deep sea fishing! At the nearby West Bay Mall, our guests enjoy the coffee shop and convenience market with delicatessen that also offers a take-out menu!

I grew up in upstate New York. My father was a U.S. Forest Service ranger, so we moved to Colorado when I was in high school. I then went on to serve 4 years in the Marine Corps, then 4 years of college in Oregon and Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State in 1985. I move around a lot, taking different jobs as a software engineer. My last job was working for Hewlett-Packard for 15 years. I always have vacationed in the tropics and decided that before I got too old, I'd do something different and live in the Caribbean. After a lot of searching, Roatan was definitely the choice!
Carolyn Belfor purchased this house in 2014
I fell in love with this beautiful home and island after looking at several other Caribbean destinations. The home is in the shaded jungle, just steps from the most beautiful beach on Roatan. West Bay Beach was recently named by the 'Island Magazine' as one of the top ten beaches in the world. The island is small, so you get to know everyone and it develops a sense of family.
We stayed at the Sea Side Inn for a week. This is a beautiful B&B especially if you appreciate CLEAN. A wonderful experience

We stayed for two weeks in April and had a wonderful time. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The location is a short walk to the beach. We loved the covered patio are that was lovely for both breakfast and the evening. I would highly recommend this B&B. Caroline goes out of her way to make sure your stay is great.
Perfect. My husband and I traveled to Roatan for our honeymoon and we had the most relaxing trip of our lives.
Carolyn was fantastic. She arranged for her approved taxi driver to pick us up from the airport and bring us grocery shopping. Carolyn also greeted us as soon as we arrived and answered any, and all of our questions. It was also great that we had two fantastic neighbors in the bungalow to share breakfast with (Tom and Brenda! We hope to see you on our next visit!) Speaking of breakfast... Wow. I repeatedly asked Carolyn if I could take her home with me. Her breakfasts were the best I've had in my whole life. Every morning was such a treat!
We had everything we could have ever thought we might need provided for us! Water, ice, fresh towels, fresh sheets, blender, toaster, fridge, a giant DVD rental collection to use at night, washer and dryer (which was so nice to bring home clean clothes!), private pool for b&b guests only! Which you would say with the beach SO close why would you need it? Well it was the best thing first thing in the morning and before bed. Hammocks to read in over looking the pool were fantastic for the mornings as well!
The room was immaculate and so was the entire property.
My husband and I were able to snorkel right off the beach over the reef. He was also able to scuba dive with West Bay Divers. He had an amazing time with Kernan and Zach.
Perfect location, barely a walk to the beach and when you got the the sand; the restaurant Beachers made sure that Carolyn's guests were taken care of with beach chairs and umbrellas!
My husband and I used to talk about traveling the world. Well that's over. Now we only talk about our return to Carolyn's and Roatan! When you've found paradise stick to it!
Thank you Carolyn for such a lovely stay. We can't wait to come back!
We stayed in the macaw suite for 7 nights, and had a great time in Roatan. The property is on the far west end of west bay, which seemed to be less busy that the middle or eastern side, but it's quite a walk to the far west end where the best shore snorkeling is. If you are planning to dive, it's very close to west bay divers (who are fantastic!). The included breakfast was a nice touch, including yogurt, granola, toast, bagels, cereal, local coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and delicious fresh fruit, even some bananas that came from a tree on the property! The pool is great and we loved the hammocks on the patio.
The only downside to the hotel, is the distance from the beach. It's not that far, but it's up a bit of a hill, and after long day in the heat, it was no fun to trudge back up to the room. There is also a very smelly dumpster you have to pass every time you walk down. And at night, don't forget your flashlight, because it's not lit, but if you stop on the cement bridge and look up, the lack of light gives you a breathtaking view of the night sky. The distance from the beach also makes it really quiet and peaceful.
Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.
We are retired farmers from Nebraska. We have traveled many places on God's good earth.
We had just returned from Burma and Thailand when we headed south to Roatan. We usually spend some of the winter in Belize, but we chose Roatan this year and we are delighted that we chose this B&B on West Bay. The Seaside Inn accommodations have surpassed our expectations. The Inn is located just the perfect distance from the most popular and beautiful beach on the island. We have enjoyed many rum punches at Beachers Bar and Grill.
Our innkeeper, Carolyn, was the most gracious and friendly hostess; accommodating our every need. We stayed in the Macaw Suite for 2 weeks then moved to the Gecko bungalow the remainder of our stay. Both units were immaculate and well provisioned.
We enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool and lounge chairs. Of course we had some refreshing rainy days and night, but even those were enjoyable. And the breakfasts were delicious.
Being long term guests, we were delighted to have a washer, dryer and propane grill provided.
Carolyn picked up some items we needed: a few groceries and the island's famous chocolate flavored rum. Before you reach the water's edge we enjoyed the friendly camaraderie of West Bay Divers on our way for the yummy coconut shrimp at Beacher's. A fine Argentinian restaurant is located next door where we enjoyed a stead that rivaled midwest beef.
If Kay and I was to grade the place and people that run and manage it. We would rate it a 5 Star B&B.
We are so happy we chose Seaside Inn for our vacation on Roatan.
West Bay Beach is the most beautiful on the island and Seaside Inn is the most amazing place to stay in West Bay. My husband and I stayed in the Gecko bungalow and the in-laws were in the Macaw suite; we all LOVED it! The location couldn't be better - a very short stroll to the beach, but nestled in the foliage for peace and quiet. The inn is on a little hill so you get wonderful breezes, plus the shade from the trees are so welcome after a day frolicking at the beach. Enjoying coffee on the porch we saw hummingbirds, geckos, iguanas, garobos, monkey la-las (Jesus lizards), butterflies and more. We were prepared for crazy mosquitos, but bugs of any kind were not an issue at the inn.
The units are super-clean and comfortable, with screened windows all around and a lovely, huge veranda with hammocks.
The short walk to the beach is a treat for the eye as well, plus you can see water birds and crabs in the shallows along the way. West Bay Divers is on the way to the beach, and they are awesome folks. At the end of the lane on the beach is Beachers restaurant and bar, where they will set you up with beach chairs and umbrellas, bring food and drink to you (even in the water!), and pretty much treat you like royalty. Right next door to them is the Argentinian restaurant which has a lovely atmosphere (especially the beach tables at night - very romantic), great food and super-nice and professional service.
Snorkeling is just beautiful (and easy!) all over the reef and is just a few fin kicks out from the beach.
West End is just a short (and fun, especially if you get Billy the Singing Captain - taxi name "Island Girl") water taxi from the beach.
Carolyn is probably the most gracious, generous host we've ever had. She's there to answer all your questions (even nerdy ones like most of mine), and knows all kinds of cool recommendations for places to eat, drink, snorkel, explore, observe and enjoy. We just cannot imagine a better vacation, and are already making plans to return to Roatan next year to stay with Carolyn again!
West Bay Diver's, PADI 5 Star Dive Center, offers a full range of dive lessons and experiences, as well as snorkeling and a full range of Freediving lessons, located a 2 minute walk down our road on the way to the beach.
