King Suite, Kitchenette, Private Bath, Huge Balcony, BBQ, WIFI, West Bay Beach!
Welcome to Seaside Inn - we are veteran owned and operated (USMC!). We purchased this gorgeous property in March of 2014 and we hope to be the best little resort on West Bay Beach.
Seaside Inn is located on a fairly-level sandy lane within two minutes walking distance from the shore. The location is awesome! We’re nestled in the jungle away from all the bustle of the beach but close enough to enjoy the restaurants, bars and activities West Bay has to offer.
We have a new, beautiful private pool! Our guests can lounge around our pool for a lazy vacation day or enjoy a nice evening cocktail after a hard day of playing on the island. Our pool is not open to the public – it is for Seaside Inn’s private use :).
A delicious breakfast will be served during high season, November 15, 2014 – April 30, 2015. We have a wonderful daily special gourmet choice, along with a second hearty choice of potatoes/eggs/ham or bacon/toast or a lighter option: yogurt parfait with homemade granola layered with non-fat vanilla yogurt, topped with fresh fruit. There are also two other “Grab & Go” choices, a very tasty egg/ham/cheese breakfast sandwich or bagel and cream cheese.
Unlike the mega resorts, we are a small private resort which provides our guests with a calm, quiet retreat away from the crowds. We cater to our guests and strive to provide a wonderful stay on this incredible island.
We have 4 rental units available at this time. The Gecko is a detached 1 bedroom bungalow with a full kitchen, living area, bedroom and bath - VRBO Listing #564852 and the Toucan and Macaw are studio suites - VRBO Listings #564850/564851 - each with kitchenettes and a private tiled bath. About Carolyn Belfor
I grew up in upstate New York. My father was a U.S. Forest Service ranger, so we moved to Colorado when I was in high school. I then went on to serve 4 years in the Marine Corps, then 4 years of college in Oregon and Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State in 1985. I move around a lot, taking different jobs as a software engineer. My last job was working for Hewlett-Packard for 15 years. I always have vacationed in the tropics and decided that before I got too old, I'd do something different and live in the Caribbean. After a lot of searching, Roatan was definitely the choice!
Carolyn Belfor purchased this House in 2014
Why Carolyn Belfor chose West Bay
I fell in love with this beautiful home and island after looking at several other Caribbean destinations. The home is in the shaded jungle, just steps from the most beautiful beach on Roatan. West Bay Beach was recently named by the 'Island Magazine' as one of the top ten beaches in the world. The island is small, so you get to know everyone and it develops a sense of family.

Absolutely Gorgeous!! Awesome vacation!
This is my fourth time to Roatan and my second time staying at Seaside Inn. I LOVE this place. My suite is immaculate - I love to enjoy the huge guest balcony (we even have a great place to hang out if it rains). The grounds are beautiful and it is peace and quiet. It's a short walk to the beach and our friends at Beacher's restaurant always have our lounge chairs waiting for us!! The pool here is also wonderful after a day in the salt water and sand, it is so refreshing to jump in the pool and have our evening cocktails - LOVE IT HERE!!!
Very enjoyable, and value
My stay at the seaside inn was from jan 30 to feb 6, 2017. The host, carolyn was amazing. Very accomodating. My room was clean and comfortable. This is a b&b and the breakfasts were spectaular. Each morning guests chose their breakfast choices from a menu and request a service time for the next day. The breakfasts are served outdoors on the very large covered balcony. These meals were amazing. The staff was friendly and did a great job. The pool was clean and well maintained. This b&b is a short walk from the beach. There are great restaurants and bars on the beach. BEACHER's was my favourite. Great cocoanut shrimp. The size of small lobster tails. And a great dance party on saturday night with a local band. Bugs and mosquitos were a non issue. Drinking water is provided and the shower and sink water is from a cistern which everyone uses. This is slightly chlorinated for safety and is fine for teeth cleaning, etc. You are advised not to drink it and i didn't but had no problems at all. Everything is safe. I would highly reccomend this b&b. Thanks, Carolyn and Lena.
A quiet home tucked back from the business of the beach and close to the best dive shop - West Bay Divers.
Carolyn is very accommodating and her home is beautiful!
Wonderful small B&B tucked away in Roatan
We stayed at the Sea Side Inn for a week. This is a beautiful B&B especially if you appreciate CLEAN. A wonderful experience

Great Place to Stay
We stayed for two weeks in April and had a wonderful time. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The location is a short walk to the beach. We loved the covered patio are that was lovely for both breakfast and the evening. I would highly recommend this B&B. Caroline goes out of her way to make sure your stay is great.
Thank you Sara for the nice review! I look forward to you and your husband's next trip to Roatan. Make sure and check out my website at www.seasideinnroatan.com and see my new delicious breakfast menu! Hope to see you soon!
Lovely property, great owner!
We stayed in the macaw suite for 7 nights, and had a great time in Roatan. The property is on the far west end of west bay, which seemed to be less busy that the middle or eastern side, but it's quite a walk to the far west end where the best shore snorkeling is. If you are planning to dive, it's very close to west bay divers (who are fantastic!). The included breakfast was a nice touch, including yogurt, granola, toast, bagels, cereal, local coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and delicious fresh fruit, even some bananas that came from a tree on the property! The pool is great and we loved the hammocks on the patio.
The only downside to the hotel, is the distance from the beach. It's not that far, but it's up a bit of a hill, and after long day in the heat, it was no fun to trudge back up to the room. There is also a very smelly dumpster you have to pass every time you walk down. And at night, don't forget your flashlight, because it's not lit, but if you stop on the cement bridge and look up, the lack of light gives you a breathtaking view of the night sky. The distance from the beach also makes it really quiet and peaceful.
Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it to others.
So happy you loved the property. Yes, the open trash containers on Roatan are an issue since they don't have 'real garbage trucks' - but I did see one in Coxen Hole the other day, so hopefully soon the restaurants can have real dumpsters :). At least on Roatan, the trash is picked up twice a week and they even clean along the roads!! As you said at the end of your review, sitting back a bit from the beach makes for quiet and peaceful. Yes, the walk is flat for the first 200 yards, but the last 100 yards does go up 20 feet (from 30' above sea level to 50') - thank goodness we aren't up on the mountain behind us! :) I was so happy that you went on to get your open water certification - congratulations again! It was nice to see you enjoy the pool and good to hear you enjoyed the breakfasts.
West Bay Diver's, PADI 5 Star Dive Center, offers a full range of dive lessons and experiences, as well as snorkeling and a full range of Freediving lessons, located a 2 minute walk down our road on the way to the beach.

Additional information about rental rates
The A/C is separately metered. Some guests don't use the AC so this keeps the rates low. If you choose to use the A/C, it costs about $5-$7 per day depending on the length of time used and how cold you keep it. We read the A/C meter upon arrival and the morning of your departure. For each week of stay, a $100 cash refundable security deposit is required upon arrival (for each unit rented).
