Bungalow, Kitchen, Bath, Dining and Living area, Private Patio, Close To Beach!!
Welcome to Seaside Inn - we are veteran owned and operated (USMC!). We purchased this gorgeous property in March of 2014 and we hope to be the best little resort on West Bay Beach.
Seaside Inn is located on a fairly-level sandy lane within a two minute walking distance from the shore. The location is awesome! We’re nestled in the jungle away from all the bustle of the beach but close enough to enjoy the restaurants, bars and activities West Bay has to offer.
We have a new, beautiful private pool! Our guests can lounge around our pool for a lazy vacation day or enjoy a nice evening cocktail after a hard day of playing on the island. Our pool is not open to the public – it is for Seaside Inn’s private use :).
A delicious breakfast will be served during high season, November 15, 2014 – April 30, 2015. We have a wonderful daily special gourmet choice, along with a second hearty choice of potatoes/eggs/ham or bacon/toast or a lighter option: yogurt parfait with homemade granola layered with non-fat vanilla yogurt, topped with fresh fruit. There are also two other “Grab & Go” choices, a very tasty egg/ham/cheese breakfast sandwich or bagel and cream cheese.
Unlike the mega resorts, we are a small private resort which provides our guests with a calm, quiet retreat away from the crowds. We cater to our guests and strive to provide a wonderful stay on this incredible island.
We have 4 rental units available at this time. The Gecko is a detached 1 bedroom bungalow with a full kitchen, living area, bedroom and bath - VRBO Listing #564852 – and the Toucan and Macaw are studio suites - VRBO Listings #564850/564851 - each with kitchenettes and a private tiled bath. The Seahorse is a beautifully tiled studio suite with two XL twin pillow-top beds arranged as bunk beds - ideal for adult travelers sharing their accommodation, but still enjoying a comfy full-length bed while watching their budget. About Carolyn Belfor
grew up in upstate New York. My father was a U.S. Forest Service ranger, so we moved to Colorado when I was in high school. I then went on to serve 4 years in the Marine Corps, then 4 years of college in Oregon and Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State in 1985. I move around a lot, taking different jobs as a software engineer. My last job was working for Hewlett-Packard for 15 years. I always have vacationed in the tropics and decided that before I got too old, I'd do something different and live in the Caribbean. After a lot of searching, Roatan was definitely the choice!
Carolyn Belfor purchased this Bungalow in 2014
Why Carolyn Belfor chose West Bay
I fell in love with this beautiful home and island after looking at several other Caribbean destinations. The home is in the shaded jungle, just steps from the most beautiful beach on Roatan. West Bay Beach was recently named by the 'Island Magazine' as one of the top ten beaches in the world. The island is small, so you get to know everyone and it develops a sense of family.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay at West Bay Beach
We were only a few minutes from the dive shop and the beach - it was fabulous. Meticulously kept grounds and the pool was wonderful! Don't be fooled by other properties that say they are at West Bay Beach! We almost stayed at another property that says it is in West Bay, but a good part of West Bay isn't within walking distance of the beach - that was news to us! We did rent a car for two days to explore the island and it was beautiful and we will return to this island and to Seaside Inn. Thank you Carolyn for such a wonderful place to spend our vacation!
Loved staying here again!
Seaside Inn bungalow the Gecko has everything one needs to enjoy the best vacation you can have. The bungalow has a 2 AC units, a full stocked kitchen , dining room table and living room and who can resist that front deck with ceiling fans and a clothesline to hand your suits and towels.
The guests have access to the rest of the house and enjoying the pool, the 2nd floor common area with the wonderful breezes and comfortable hammocks are just a few of the special touches that Carolyn the owner provides.
Her breakfasts are made to order and are delicious and plentiful, having a frig to put leftovers is the best. Carolyn provides umbrellas, flashlight, and a phone to use on the island. Who else does that?
And when you are ready to go you can use the washer and dryer !
The intimate setting of only 8 maximum guests was easy in making friends and making plans for dinner or island excursions.
Carolyn has access to the seafood vendor and fruit and veggie truck that comes by every week.
This was our second year vacationing at the Seaside Inn and we hope to return next year. Thanks for everything Carolyn!
Perfect mix of quiet relaxtion close to the action!
The bungalow was a perfect size. It stayed cool and comfortable. Carolyn and her staff took great care of us. Breakfast and relaxing on the huge veranda of the main house was a treat everyday. It felt secluded, but it is just a short walk to the beach and some great restaurants. SCUBA, snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming so close and convenient without the big resort crowds.
Double Wow! Everything as advertised-except more.
The bungalow is cute, spacious enough for two with actually comfy furniture-bed and couch, which is unheard of in Mexico and C.A. It is Brit and cheerful, but with curtains drawn stays pretty cool in Julys Honduran heat. A true 2 minute walk to the beach. The beach, it's restaurants and dive shop all right there. By the end of the evening, we were happy to head to our casita for an evening cocktail on the covered porch or in the pool, away from the hustle of all the tourists. Carolyn is an excellent host going above and beyond, both with her attention to detail (the landscaping is lush & amazing!), as well as her desire to see that you have everything you need to make your vacation memorable. The pool is cool and inviting, the entire place is immaculate. Every recommendation that she made was a homerun. We are already looking to return, this time with friends. Carolyn and her place are a true gem! Thanks for the best vacation ever!
No need to look elsewhere!
Husband and I just loved our 8 day stay at Seaside Inn and the hostess Carolyn.
We stayed at the Gecko a beautiful and comfortable suite that we called home.
The ceiling fans kept the place cool and having a nice entry porch for us to hang our clothes and using the washer and dryer was an extra plus.
Carolyn was very helpful in finalizing our stay and taxi with a stop for groceries.
She also made the most delicious breakfast for us, we so loved the pool and the hammocks on the upper floor where the other 2 rooms were at.
Roy was very helpful too and saw him cleaning constantly around the place.
Having Seaside Inn at the top of the road meant you had a quiet and tranquil place to relax away from the beach and the noise.
An easy 5 minute walk with a stop to say hi to West Bay Divers then on to Beachers was a daily routine.
Snorkeling was amazing at West Bay and the Divers taking us for only $5 was even better.
I am planning on returning next year and can't wait to get there and get to see Roatan again.
Doesn't Get Any Better Than This
My husband and I spent 11 days in the Gecko Bungalow at Seaside Inn. We were picked up at the airport by Loren who was recommended by Carolyn and he stopped at Eldon’s grocery store on the way, waiting patiently while we did our shopping. The bungalow was perfect for two people and provided everything we needed for our stay. It was spotless and beautifully decorated. Carolyn’s attention to detail is amazing. It rained for a good portion of our stay so we took full advantage of the DVD library and the dryer. They were having trouble on the island keeping the electricity on with all the rain however the generator would kick in immediately and we were never without power. We were able to use the grill provided on the deck and the stovetop in the bungalow and made a few meals of fresh seafood that was available from a vendor who stopped by frequently. Carolyn was very helpful by picking up needed items for us while she was out. Her awesome breakfasts were enough to get us through the majority of the day and we felt like royalty being served every day. We were pleasantly surprised to find that daily housekeeping was included as had not expected it. Roy, the maintenance man/pool guy/housekeeping person/waiter was always polite and helpful. We enjoyed learning about the island from him. The views from our porch and the main deck were beautiful and quiet. We were able to take advantage of the pool and lounge chairs. The beach and many restaurants were a very short walk away and we enjoyed chatting with Valerie and Ian at West Bay Divers on our way to and from the beach. Our only disappointment was the rain that was highly unusual for the time of year and that was the fault of Mother Nature. We look forward to a return visit

Additional information about rental rates
The A/C is separately metered. Some guests don't use the AC so this keeps the rates low. If you choose to use the A/C, it costs about $5-$7 per day depending on the length of time used and how cold you keep it. We read the A/C meter upon arrival and the morning of your departure. For each week of stay, a $100 cash refundable security deposit is required upon arrival (for each unit rented).
