Located less than 30 minutes from Tot Hill Farm, one of North Carolina's finest golf courses, and less than an hour from Grandover and Pinehurst, our cottage is the perfect location for a golfer's getaway. We also welcome those of you visiting our great state for the High Point Furniture Market. For those of you wanting to relax, just kick back on our dock, cue the tunes and take in the sunshine.
Unlike most vacation rentals, we supply paper towels, toilet paper, body wash, towels, bed linens, coffee filters, and even firewood for your convenience.
Nikki and I met in high school but never dated until college. I played baseball at Catawba College and Nikki started her career as a cosmetologist in Raleigh, NC. After tying the knot in October of 2011 we began saving for our dream home. We figured it would be years before we were able to go shopping for a place on Badin Lake. However, by some miracle, we came across this little cottage and fell in love.
Matthew Kepley purchased this cottage in 2012
We are weekend warriors. After working hard all week we pack up the Jeep and take off to anywhere fun and exciting. We had been visiting friends at Badin Lake for 5 years until we decided it was time to stop crashing on couches and find our own place. Out of all the places we have been, this is our favorite by far.
We enjoyed our stay! Place was nice and convenient to everything. We had a lot of fun hiking the mountain and using paddle boats in the lake. When I did not understand directions, owners were also nice enough to walk us through the steps to set up the Jacuzzi.
This is a darling place on the lake! The decor of this home is very charming. It is clean and well cared for. We had a great time. The home is small, with the second bed being in the family room, but it was so worth it to be on the lake. We stopped in daily at the general store for fish and worms and fished every day. The kids loved it. We also built a fire one evening and made smores.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Thursday and Friday visit. We used it as a base to go hiking at Morrow Mountain and other such activities. So, we were not there much during the day. But it was very comfortable and enjoyable in a beautiful location. I can see a later Spring or Summer visit in our plans.
We enjoyed our time. It's a cozy house, well equipped with all you need and some extras like a nice dock, fire pit outside , nice outdoor deck and hot tub. We enjoyed ourselves. Owners were quick to respond to questions. We loved the decorating too!!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The kitchen is very well stocked and the decorations are very on trend. The instructions on where to find items was clear. I also took advantage of the library and very much enjoyed my selection of The Lovely Bones.
I agree with the previous review that the bathroom window needs a cover as it is directly across from the neighbors window and in full view of both the deck and the driveway.
Not a complaint, just a note. There is a larger than normal step between the kitchen and living room. It was difficult to navigate for my toddler and might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.
Another suggestion is to label the ceiling fan remotes, add them to the instruction list (we just happened upon them) and make sure there are batteries in all of them. We didn't really need the fan in November, but would have appreciated using the light by itself.
All in all, we got just what we were looking for a relaxing holiday weekend to recharge!
