About Carolina Branch

Active family from Atlanta, GA who enjoys hiking, water sports, and family time. We have busy kids in high school and middle school.

Carolina Branch purchased this cabin in 1999

Why Carolina Branch chose Smoky Mountains

We bought this house because we love the NC mountains. It is a very convenient weekend get away from our main house in Atlanta, GA. There are so many things to do in the area...never a dull moment, including just relaxing with a book with the sound of the birds and wind on the leaves as background music! We love this house, from the smell when you first walk in (all cedar wood), to the roaring fires at night (inside and out). Our house is just a very cozy, warm home that allows for ultimate family sharing. Many wonderful memories!

What makes this cabin unique

Location, location, location. Cozy retreat from hectic life in a big city.

Fabulous, a great find, wonderful open floor plan

It makes for a great place for family gatherings. The hosts are gracious and accomodating. there are lots of nice places carved out for enjoying the outdoor spaces. the lake is very nice and we enjoyed canoeing and fishing the coves. they have lots of games and puzzles. i suggest you not bring too much food from somewhere else as there is a very good Ingles food store about 15 minutes away and fully stocked. Nearby you can enjoy many trails so be sure you have bottled water and good sneakers. Oh, and there quite a nice rope swing near the dock. When you look out off the back deck, the trail going off to the right heads to your personal dock and upper deck where you find the canoe and kayak. We all had such a good time and every expectation was met. Enjoy!

Great location for being away from it all yet close to things to do. Quiet, relaxing and beautiful.

  • 4 of 5

Out of the way place on a perfect setting. Private lake, almost no neighbors, close to town but far enough away. Sapphire is small but Cashiers is fun and very close (10 minutes) and Highlands is just another 10 minutes away. Ate at Madison's in Highlands, great food and service. Joined the Sapphire Community Center for a very cheap price and enjoyed working out and got discounts on snow tubing which is awesome fun. Missed zipline due to high winds, will get this next time. Wifi passwords worked but you could not connect up so we had to hotspot for the week but cell service was good. Would have easily been a 5 but such a good looking spot for fishing but no fish (could have been my fault though). We debated on going canoeing but waited till the temp got down to 25 and reassessed that idea! Should have gone the day before when other kids were out doing the same. Booking was easy and the owner responded to all our questions quickly and was a great help. Classy house with everything you could ask for. Looking forward to next year!

Great house and great locations

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this cute house. Even though we were there during winter, we couldn't resist spending time bundled up on the back porch over looking the lake. The house and furnishings are very cozy and perfect for snuggling up in front of the fire. The owners are great to work with and very responsive if you need anything during your stay.

Awesome Weekend Retreat!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a wondeful weekend we had in this beautiful place! Our boys 11 & 13, used the kayak alot, spent lots of time fishing, and even used the rope swing since the weather was warm. The fire pit is beautiful and we loved being under the beautiful fall canopy with a crackling fire. We loved it all.

This is a really nice listing. It met or exceeded our expectations. Very convenient location.

  • 5 of 5

The fit and finish on the house is very high end. Luxury in the trees. The house was very clean, and well maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped, really large outside deck(s), nice fireplace. The house was very convenient to golf and restaurants. We played golf every day (Sapphire National is only 2 miles away). Early November is great in the mountains with small crowds. You can walk right in to golf or restaurants and the weather was very temperate. We had 3 couples rent the house and all of us would definitely recommend to friends.
