About Susan Graef

We live in New York City but spend our summer's in Rockport. I am a free lance film editor and my husband is a teacher. My daughter and son are in high school and middle school. We can't get up for the whole summer so we are offering our home for others to enjoy.

Susan Graef purchased this house in 1997

Why Susan Graef chose Rockport

Rockport is the birthplace of my grandfather and I've been summering here my whole life. Once you visit, it's easy to see why Rockport is a magnet for artists and ocean lovers. Buying this house was a dream come true. My husband, myself and our two children love and cherish the time we spend there and would love other families to share in that experience.

What makes this house unique

Every person who enters this house expresses how peaceful and serene it is. It's not the Taj Mahal but it's home. Perhaps it's the light reflecting off the ocean, perhaps it's the quite or the view to the twin lighthouses but you could spend hours sitting on the porch perfectly content.

Older home with beautiful views. Perfect for a large group.

  • 4 of 5

We were attending a family wedding in Rockport. Needed a place that could accommodate 12 adults. Home provided ample space to be together as a family whether in the large kitchen or open living room / dinning room. Loved large wrap around porch and views. Home owner very accessible and helpful. House clean and equipped with everything we needed. We would stay here again.

A lovely beach house for a family vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the old fashioned decor, it was like stepping back in time! We spent lots of time enjoying the front porch. The outdoor shower was wonderful and the house felt very spacious and had everything we needed. My only complaint is that that the mattresses and pillows really need updating. Overall we loved our stay!

Unmatched views, wonderful host!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second annual stay at the house, and we already plan on returning next year! The views are second to none! The neighbors are friendly, the area quiet and serene. The house is kid and dog friendly, with plenty of room for our 4 kids, 5 adults, and 80 pound lab! It's so close to Bearskin neck, which is an added bonus.

Beautiful Views

  • 3 of 5

This home is in an absolutely beautiful spot. Being able to look out over the ocean onto the islands and lighthouses is amazing. Unfortunately, the house was quite dirty upon arrival. We spent hours cleaning and washing bedding when we first arrived. The owner was quick to respond when we voiced our concerns. She did send a $100 refund for our troubles.

One more thing to note is that if you have a large party staying at the house, you have only one indoor shower to use. There is an outdoor shower, but you don’t have much privacy at all.

We wouldn’t return to this house but it was in a beautiful location.

Once again a great stay

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time here and we can't wait to come back. There is so much to do in a short distance from this house. The house is big and has a home feel. No stuffy hotel or sterile feel. Relaxed every minute.

Quiet and gorgeous Rockport house

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a house for a long weekend in Rockport to host a family reunion and birthday party. This house had plenty of beds for family and guests. The kitchen was plenty big to serve a large group and was equipped with everything you need. Love the outdoor shower! Bikes available in the garage. Great backyard with a fire ring to make a nice campfire. Short walk to the rocky coast to hang out. Great view from the wrap around porch. We meant to go walk around Rockport, but were happy just hanging out at the house. Susan, the owner, got in touch with me right away to answer questions and provide other valuable info. The total experience was a "10".
