About Lorrie Doyle
In 2013 I was fortunate enough to find this most wonderful house nestled behind two pine trees, waiting for its new owner. It was originally the game keeper's house of the Nickerson Estate and has a wonderful history both inside and out. I renovated the house with the intention of it being welcoming to all. Some say when they enter, that it has the feeling of a big hug. Some just appreciate the calmness inside. The grounds have been landscaped over the past 80 years to reveal a natural setting with a yard that stretches to the far woods. From those woods you can see into Nickerson Park. The Koi Pond also has been on the property many years. It is a delight to watch the fish circle and swim as they wait for a possible snack. Birds abound as well. For me, this house, reflects all that I feel is important to me as the steward of this historic home. It brings me joy to be there and reminds me of the beauty of natural surroundings and a house whose history continues on.

Why Lorrie Doyle chose Brewster
Privacy abounds inside and out at this Brewster home. Plantings sited to please the eye, and the senses throughout the seasons. Inside, the main bedroom has 1/2 bath en suite, two additional full baths are located at opposite ends of the house for convenience. New interior has been decorated with family favorites and newly acquired goodies. All bedding and linens are new.
What makes this House unique
Large, private, lushly landscaped yard, koi pond, artist's retreat - a small rustic cabin removed from the main house for playing or painting, perhaps some yoga. Play loft or hideout for reading, games, puzzles, private time. Ecologically conscious renovation of all systems assures allergen free atmosphere for peace and quiet. Dogs under 135 lbs, over 2 years old and well-mannered are welcome. Two maximum. Please, no cats. Extensive decking and screened-in porch. Walk to Nickerson Park or Linnell Landing beach. Our many freshwater ponds beckon.

Peaceful retreat with easy access to the splendors of the cape
A weekend getaway with best friend and sainted dog and the place was more than I
Could ask for. Rambling cape
Cod architecture with eclectic and warm personal design choices everywhere and over an acre of garden and peaceful backyard. Close to the beaches of Brewster and Nickerson park and a short drive to all the fun in Orleans. House is warm and snug and comfy and fun, nothing uptight or rigid here! Well maintained and obviously loved, not just an investment property. A joy!
Great Venue for a Retreat
The House on Koi Pond was a great venue to hold my mosaic retreat. The house was large enough to house 6 of us comfortably and still have room for the workshop set-up. We originally planned to use the screened porch for our workspace, but because of the weather, we moved inside. We had the flexibility to do that!
The house was extremely clean. The house manager was very responsive and answered all my questions. Location was great. It was close to several mosaic sites we visited in Orleans and Yarmouth. Plus plenty of good restaurants. Everyone was pleasantly surprised to receive House on Koi Pond mugs and tee shirts. A great extra.
Overall, a great experience!
Cozy lovely home with all kinds of fun nooks
Well stocked with kitchen utensils and piles of towels, excellent cozy beds and beautiful bathrooms. Every inch of this house is gorgeous, and the owners are lovely. Great location. You can't ask for more.
Can't wait to come back!
Impossible to describe. Clean, private, eclectic, eco-friendly, spacious, relaxing, lush and fab!
Charming Property Near Beach
Two couples enjoyed this clean, comfortable house with large deck. More than ample bathrooms, but main bedroom only has a half bath. Everything you need is provided in good working order including beach chairs, umbrella and cooler on wheels! Great book selection in cozy reading nook. Besides the lovely fish, we saw lots of birds, rabbits and even a couple of coyotes in the expansive private yard. So great to have a porch, especially on a rainy day.
Twenty minute walk to beach, but since we take a lot of gear, we chose the convenient five minute drive.
Lastly, my tall husband said to mention that if you're over 6'5, you might need to duck in a few places under the original 1910 beams, although we don't know their exact height.
We hope to be returning next year.
