Covered Porch on TROUT STREAM. Log Cabin minutes to Boone
average rating of 4.8 based on 5 reviews

Peaceful, cozy cabin beautifully positioned on a trout stream.

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed the long June weekend we spent in Boone at this lovely cabin. It is in great condition, beautifully decorated and included all the ammenities to make our stay comfortable while still enjoying the peacefulness of the mountains - two spacious bedrooms with king size beds - well equipped kitchen - washer and dryer - etc. The wifi worked perfectly. Our 15 year old son LOVED the hours he spent wading up and down the trout stream - catching several trout! If you have a fisherman in the group - make sure they pack wadders (not good for bank fishing). Traveling to downtown Boone was very easy (we were there for a baseball tournament at ASU) - taking only 15-20 minutes. We will definitely come back - it was the perfect spot for our family.

Please do note - there was no cell phone service. There is a house phone; however, we could not get it to work properly (line was full of static and could not hear). Finding the cabin is a little tricky. They do provide you with a map - GPS is kinda bust up there! Keep your eyes peeled and follow the map closely. Our only frustration was that the wrong key code was given to us by the property management company - then, couldn't call because our cell phone didn't work at the cabin. We had to drive a bit to get cell service to call the property management company - they were very responsive and provided the correct number quickly. The property management company was also very easy to work with as we wanted to come in a little early on the first day (arrived at 2:00 rather than 4:00) - they were awesome to work with and accomodated.

4th stay, 1st time in summer, love this place!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th time staying here as we usually stay in the Winter months. We absolutely love this place. The pictures do not show the updates inside and out. We love the outdoor fire pit and chairs by the creek where we enjoyed tea each morning. We left the doors open so we could hear the creek at night, it was wonderful. There is a grill and great seating on the big front porch and we ate all of our meals there.

The bedrooms are roomy with King beds. The furnishings are big and comfy with a large screen tv for when it was raining and you wanted to lay around and watch some movies.

This place is almost idyllic, when you drive down the driveway under the canopy of trees you are a world away. It's the perfect getaway.

It was everything we expected and more. What a wonderful place, we didn't want to leave the cabin because it was so peaceful and serene. The owner was very nice and helpful. We would love to return again. Thanks so much for a great time.

This was an authentic, beautifully decorated log cabin. It was clean, had anything you needed in the kitchen, very comfortable King bed in master, but also had a King bed in second bedroom. It would be roomy for 6. It's even kind of secluded so you feel alone. the sound of the creek just off the porch was so peaceful. We had bad weather almost every day but there are books to read and you can sit on the back porch swing. I want to go again.

It is exactly like what I think of when I think of a cabin in the woods

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful time in this cabin. When I picture a log cabin in the woods in the mountains close to a creek, this is it. The turns on the main roads were easy to find. The driveway was hard to find. All the other odd numbered cabins on this road are on the right but this was on the left and the driveway is hidden. There is another cabin down the same driveway but very private. The floor plan is very open that I really liked. The kitchen, dining room, and den are one big room with tall ceilings. The den has a big TV connected to a stereo. It has big comfy chairs and sofa and lots of books which my wife really likes. I found everything that I needed in the large kitchen. Both bedrooms and the den have a door that opens to the porch that you can hear the creek. Both bedrooms have a TV/DVD and it's own bathroom. I never figured out the small stones in the floor of the bathroom. The porch is wonderful. It is the length of the back of the house. There is a swing, table and chairs, and a grill. The spark did not work in the main part of the grill but it did on the side burner. I did steaks on it and is a nice grill. This house can easily handle 4 people. It was just what we were looking for. It is a short drive to Boone, Blowing Rock, and the Parkway.
