About the property

Downtown Mountain View Private Home With Hot Tub

2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,612 sq ft (150 sq meters).

Master bedroom has a queen size bed, a cozy 'office' space, it's own bathroom with stall shower, and sliding doors leading out to the beautiful yard and private hot tub.

Second room has bunk beds as well as a full sized futon to sleep additional folks.

Kitchen is large with granite counter tops, large island, 2 sinks, beautiful oak cabinets, and a table that seats 6 people. Fully stocked kitchen.

Living Room has a flat screen TV with DVD player and a wood burning fireplace.

'Dining' Room has been converted into a playroom fully stocked with kids toys.

There is wireless internet access and cable TV with Sports Package.

Large backyard has a deck, a patio area for outdoor dining and entertaining, and a hot tub spa. The collection of redwood and other trees provide privacy for the hot tub while still allowing perfect star-gazing. Depending on the time of year, you can help yourself to fresh lemons, oranges, loquots, and figs from our many fruit trees and even fresh eggs from our two hens! The yard has an old chicken coop, probably from the 1920's, and a much smaller new chicken coop with two hens. They are very quite and you do not need to do anything with them, but they are fun to watch at times!

Our home is a short 3 block walk to downtown Mountain View's Castro St with hundreds of restaurants of every nationality. We're also a short walk to the Steven's Creek Trail, as well as CalTrain (a Baby Bullet train stop to San Francisco and San Jose) and Light Rail. Close to highways CA85, US-101, CA237 and I-280 (although you can't see or hear any of them). Close to Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, and many other high-tech companies. Less than 6 miles to Stanford University and Stanford Hospital and less than 2 miles to El Camino Hospital.

Although close to so many things, this home is still on a very quite residential street. If you're doing anything that may create excessive noise or any problems for the neighbors, we're confident this is not the listing for you. Thanks for understanding.

If you have any issues with check-in and check-out times or any special requests for your arrival, please just let us know. Some friends from the East Coast cannot start a day without Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Not just any coffee, it has to be their brand. Caf or Decaf? Soy milk or Half-n-half? If you have a request, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

There is a trampoline in the yard which will be locked and by accepting a reservation with us, Guests agree NOT to use the locked trampoline.

We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope you'll decide right now to at least reach out to us with an inquiry.

About Anne and Mike

Anne and Mike have been a couple since meeting at the University of Michigan in 1986. We love to travel and have lived in France, Japan, and China. We also had the pleasure of taking 18 months to travel the world in 1998 and 1999, visiting 15+ countries on a very low budget. We settled in beautiful Mountain View, CA in 2000 and have two active boys (10 and 12 years old).

We have rented people's places on some of our world travels and our goal is always to leave the house just as we found it.

Anne and Mike purchased this house in 2007

Such a great house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family including my husband, myself and 4 of our kids stayed in this darling house the week of thanksgiving 2014. We loved the open feel and that the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. We were even able to host some of our other out of town friends for thanksgiving dinner. We only went down town our last night and wished we had done it more, it is such a cute downtown and so close! The neighborhood was really nice! My favorite part was the lemon tree with fresh, ripe lemons that we were able to use, my husbands was the chicken coop and the fresh eggs we were able to eat. We were in town for the 49ers game and it was a quick half an hour to the stadium on the trax. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family.

Owner's Response: Joe and his family were a pleasure to deal with and they left our home looking just as nice as it looked when they arrived. We would welcome them back to our home and other Hosts would be lucky to have them as Guests! Thanks Joe.
