This cozy hide-away is newly remodeled and decorated featuring a stone fireplace, open beamed ceiling, room air conditioner, two-person soaking tub in master bath, wrap-around deck and nicely equipped kitchen. Located in Sugarloaf, 5 miles east of Big Bear, the cabin is just 10-15 minutes away from the slopes of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts.

The cabin sits on a beautifully treed lot (3 lots fully fenced) in the Mountains of Sugarloaf, providing peace and quiet. The National Forest is just 100 yards away so you can enjoy hiking, sledding, or cross-country skiing. The open layout of the cabin provides a perfect atmosphere for a cozy and relaxing get-away.

We take pride in providing a comfortable, cozy, relaxing stay and take every effort to keep the cabin up to date with conveniences and decorating. THE CABIN WAS JUST RE-PAINTED AND NEW CARPET WAS ADDED TO THE BEDROOM ALONG WITH A NEW MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS COMPLETED IN OCTOBER 2017.

The interior is professionally remodeled and includes a stone fireplace with gas starter in the open beamed living room. A portable air conditioning (A/C) unit is also available to cool down during those warm summer days. The beautifully designed and spacious master bathroom has a two-person soaking tub and separate shower. The bedroom has a queen bed with a forced air heater to keep you toasty during those cold snowy nights. The living room has a new queen easy to pull out sofa bed to comfortably accommodate additional guests. The half bathroom is conveniently situated off the living room.

The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, dishes, wine glasses, coffee grinder and maker, pots and pans, food processor, and everything else you'll need to prepare a gourmet meal. Firewood is not provided.

AFTER RENTING THE CABIN OVER THE PAST 10 years we want to continue to give our guests the best possible experience staying at our cabin. We pride ourselves in providing a quality stay at affordable price throughout the years. In order to continue to provide a consistently clean and cozy cabin we have decided to provide the linens and cleaning for a $50 fee.

Note - Damage to cabin shall be additional charge.

About Cheryl

Julie and I have owned this cabin for over 10 years and our family has enjoyed it to the fullest. We love spending family time at the cabin and hope your stay is

Cheryl purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Cheryl chose Sugarloaf

We love the outdoors and to disconnect from "city life". We searched for a place we could drive to on short weekends from Long Beach. We found what we were looking for in Big Bear with fresh air, Open Space, wilderness and close proximity to Long Beach.

comfort in the mountains

What a charming, well-appointed, comfortable cabin. We had a wonderful time and especially loved the bath big enough for two! Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your sweet mountain getaway.

Perfect mountain getaway cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Cheryl's cabin - it is in a great location, immaculate, and beautifully decorated. Sugarloaf is much more quiet and peaceful than some of the other Big Bear neighborhoods, but town is just a quick drive away. We got everything we needed at the local general store and cooked in the well-stocked kitchen. The kitchen island is the perfect place to prep, eat, and hang out, since it overlooks the living room, TV, and awesome stone fireplace. We appreciated the games & cards, wifi, netflix, and detailed house manual. The extra bathroom was also very convenient, especially since the massive soaking tub in the large master bath meant it was often occupied for hours at a time! We loved being able to walk a few minutes up the road to endless, uncrowded hiking trails with our dog, who was very happy to join our family vacation. I highly recommend this awesome cabin and can't wait to go back again soon!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in the Zephyr Cabin before and love many things about it. For starters the cabin itself is adorable, with everything from a rustic fireplace to a giant bathtub (with on-demand hot water for a good soak), super comfy bed and excellent wi-fi to make us feel at home. We even cooked our Thanksgiving dinner here- just had to limit the size of the turkey (10 lbs worked- bigger would have been a problem). We also love the big, fenced yard and deck. I should say our dog loves those, and would hang out all day on the deck if we let her- but (and this is one of the joys of staying here) there are often coyotes singing just out of sight, so we don't leave her out alone. The forest is just a small walk up the hill and Big Bear Lake is about a 10-minute drive away. There is a convenience store about 3 minutes away whose motto is "If we don't have it, you don't need it." The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need. Cheryl, the owner is very responsive, and there is a handy-man and cleaning company on call if anything comes up. All in all, I would recommend this little gem in Sugarloaf.

Everything we hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

We came here for our first year anniversary. It was the perfect cabin. Just far away enough from the busyness of big bear (during holiday season). It was clean and pretty well kept up. The kitchen was perfect for what we needed. We had all the tools we needed to make our meals! Our only complaint was that the couch wasn’t very comfortable, and we planned on watching a lot of movies by the fire. Great for couples or small families! 10/10 would come back.

Fantastic spot for a getaway with or without pets!

  • 5 of 5

Prefect spot for both people and dogs! Clean, comfy and easy to get to. The fenced yard was wonderful for our active boarder collie.. I'm planning to return!
