About Margie Hauser
We are a family run business. Mike takes care of the dirty and really hard work! Margie takes care of the booking process, cleaning, maintaining and updating the house. The kids help rake pine needles and contribute to the toy closet. Margie will be the one you most likely talk to. I always like to meet my guests, give a tour and answer any questions about the house, neighborhood, town and Rocky Mountain National Park. I've lived in Estes Park for 37 years and enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of the area.
Margie Hauser purchased this House in 2004
Why Margie Hauser chose Estes Park
Twin Owls House is adjacent to our family home. Our dear friends used to own the house for 20 years before we bought it. We grew very sentimentally attached to this beautiful home. It is truly a historic Estes Park home that has been cared for so graciously. We take extra good care of this charmer and think it sits on one of the best lots in town. Since we live next door it is easy for us to maintain and to be available for our guests should they need anything.
What makes this House unique
IMMACULATE, QUIET,BRIGHT! This house is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. It's on a large lot with one of the biggest and oldest Ponderosa pine trees in the Estes Valley. There are gorgeous trees, a meadow and nice views of Lumpy Ridge. It's easy to enjoy the outdoors with the front deck, back patio, hammock and comfortable Amish furniture in the yard. There's always wildlife passing through and when indoors, you can see it all with the big picture windows.

Exceeded our expectations
Great place close to downtown Estes Park. We were treated like family as Margie let our daughter play on her trampoline during our stay. We had 20+ elk in the yard every other day. The house was comfortable and the perfect spot for our family on our fall break trip to Estes Park. You will not regret booking this property as it is a mile from downtown Estes and only 5 miles from an entrance to RMNP. Great property at a great value.
Gorgeous, restful, spotless property and home with breathtaking views
This has been an amazing vacation in a perfect location for our family of 6. This property is the ideal spot for larger families/groups to settle in after long adventurous days. The home is within walking distance to the quaint downtown (which we did most days), and just a few minutes drive to both east entrances of majestic Rocky Mountain National Park. The views from Twin Owls of the "Twin Owls" rock formation and Lumpy Ridge are gorgeous.
The house is well-equipped--we wanted for nothing. The owners even tuned into little specific needs that our family had and when we showed up those detailed extra touches were there waiting for us! Mike and Margie are so kind, generous of spirit, and thoughtful--we couldn't have asked for a better set of caretakers! They went out of their way to meet our needs from the beginning of the stay to the very end. It's amazing how you can begin a week having never met someone before, and at the end of the week you feel that you have made a lifelong friend. Their knowledge of this area from living here for 30 years is very valuable to their guests' stays here in Estes Park. Our daughter is currently wearing a knee brace, so we missed out on some of the tougher hikes, but Margie instantly recommended a hike that is just as beautiful as others without the challenging terrain. They truly have a heart for others, and that is evident as you come here and feel that Twin Owls is actually your own home with all the comforts (and more!) that you are accustomed to.
The fireplace very quickly warms a large portion of the house and is so lovely and peaceful. Our family spent much time gathered around it with blankets and books, just enjoying the ambiance and soothing surroundings (even though we could have just as easily turned on the furnace). We saw many bull elk right here from the property and in the surrounding areas. I can't stress enough the country, mountainous setting where you feel like you're away from all the stresses of modern life, but you also have all the amenities that you could desire with the convenience of town just a few minutes walk away.
Our family is already planning our next trip here to Twin Owls. After being here we can't imagine being satisfied staying anywhere else here in Estes Park. Thank you, Mike and Margie, for a refreshing week for our growing family!
Clean, well-appointed in a great location
Our family of 4 could not have been happier - the property is in an ideal location and is super charming. The owners clearly take a great deal of pride in maintaining a clean and cozy vacation home that is a perfect "home base" for a visit to Estes Park and nearby Rocky Mountain National Park.
Darling historic home dating to 1920 with all the modern conveniences.
Great house, great décor, great yard with Elk, Mule Deer and birds visiting, great proximity to all of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Wonderful owners are near if you need them. We highly recommend a stay in this lovely home!!
Twin Owls House was the perfect vacation home. The house was spacious, well stocked with everything we needed and very clean. A bonus was a toy closet stocked with toys and games. Our grandchildren enjoyed this immensely. The location of the house was also perfect. It is close to downtown and RMNP entrance. Our hosts went over and above in making sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!!!
Wonderful family vacation at Twin Owls house
My daughter, her twin sons, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. It has fantastic views, it is confortable and has a number of family gathering areas, such as a porch where to eat and watch wildlife and two
large sitting areas. Very close to town and the National Park entrances. We will definitely come again. Thank you Margie for our fun vacation.
