PERFECT Location, Beach, House for traveling with families

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this perfect beach home over our Spring Break with 3 families. There was plenty of space to spread out. The beach is perfect for snorkeling and swimming - crystal clear, warm water without worry since it is reef protected. We had 13 people and beds for all....

Master Bedroom: King bed + 1 single pull out (full bath)

Master Bedroom: King bed + 1 single pull out (shared a bath with Queen bedroom)

Bedroom: Queen Bed

Small Room: Single pull out

Upstairs: Plenty of Room....1 queen bed tha slept 2, and a trundle that slept 2 (Bathroom)

The kitchen has 2 full refrigerators and plenty of space.

There is a washer and dryer which was perfect for washing towels and any clothes we needed.

Like I said, a perfect beach house...if I had any negatives, and I don't count them as negatives because this house gets 5 stars from us....a bit outdated, and could have had those beautiful windows in the front cleaned.

We would stay here again - close to Princeville, Hanalei, Kapaa.

The house has a 1 lane road in front of it, but it isn't a drawback - the beach is clean, and not crowded.

Great location, false advertising on beds

  • 3 of 5

This house is in a great location with a beautiful view right across the street from the beach. The listing clearly says there are 5 beds for two people, but there are 4 double/king beds and 3 ottomans that pull out into single "beds." The mattresses on those are about 2" thick and very uncomfortable for anyone weighing more than about 50 lbs., as they sit on the bars of the foldout. The bed situation was extremely disappointing and maddening for us since we didn't have any small children with who could comfortably sleep on the foldout beds.

The house itself was fine, nothing fancy, but perfectly serviceable if in need of a lot of upgrades. The size and the location are really the main draws. There are four bedrooms, and as others mentioned, the fifth "bedroom" is really more of a space for a single pullout "bed."

Considering what we paid for the place, which was a fortune just after New Year's, I don't think we would return. Maybe at a less expensive time of year with fewer people who only needed ten beds (four double/king type and two singles). Overall, we were pretty angry with the fact that there wasn't the bed configuration that we had counted on, and that the rental company was unwilling to admit any error or give any compensation for it.

Awesome house and location!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a fantastic stay at this home. There were 10 adults and 2 kids and we had plenty of room. The house is beautiful, clean and the location is just amazing. It is, as the pictures show, directly across a 1 lane street to Anini beach. The water at Anini beach is calm and perfect for kids, snorkeling, kayaking and on days that are not too windy, paddle boarding as well. There is nothing like cooking with an ocean front view, windows wide open and eating dinner on the patio. We had just a couple of complaints including he bedroom situation. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the house is advertised as 5 bedroom but the 5th really is about as big as a closet. It fits a fold out cot or a twin mattress but it is very small. There is plenty of room to fit blow up mattresses in the other rooms. There are 3 full bathrooms. A washer and dryer. 2 full sized refrigerators. One of our group did mention that there were some issues with the toilet flushing in the downstairs bathroom but really, overall, we had a fantastic stay at this house. I would highly recommend it. It also comes with a few beach chairs & kids beach toys, the house supplies beach towels but no blankets. I hope to one day be able to return! Mahalo!

Actually a 4 1/2 bedroom.

  • 3 of 5

Beautiful house on a beautiful beach with good snorkeling and nice sunsets. One major setback is this should be listed as a 4 bedroom not 5 bedroom. There is a small office that only sleeps one person on a convertible ottoman. I would not consider this a 5th bedroom. The bathroom fixtures need repair. The sheets and pillow cases were not washed, and we had to do it ourselves. Minor issue is upstairs bedroom has a nice view but no window shades.

Wonderful location, perfect for family.

  • 4 of 5

We just got home from a week in Kauai staying at this house. We had 8 total in our group, 4 of them kids. The house had plenty of room and was right on the beach. Views from the front porch and main living space were excellent. The water at Anini beach is perfect for kids. Calm and is only about waist deep for a good distance. The kids (age 2-12) all had a fantastic time and we felt very safe. Perfect for snorkeling, swimming, paddle boarding, etc. Kitchen was large and made food prep really easy. The only down side is the house is a little older and probably ready for some upgrades but I think that is reflected in price as it was more affordable than some newer (smaller) houses in the area. Also, the houses around it are all rentals as well so you get to meet other families having similar experiences. Our kids made some friends. The only other slightly negative is that the beach is popular because of it's calm waters so you have to put up with people parking in front of the house. But even with that, the beach never seemed crowded. All in all it was a fantastic place and we will probably stay there again in the future.

Really Great Place - Perfect for Beach and Everything Else

  • 5 of 5

Simply paradise. We stayed at this property over ten days in December 2015 with various family members coming and going during that time - lots of room for all, and conveniently located for excursions to nearby towns for shopping, restaurants, snorkeling equipment etc, or more adventurous hiking on the Na Pali coast. This is a beautiful house - a pleasure to be in, even without the amazing views and location. Right on the beach where the surf was always gentle and inviting even for young kids. Huge central space inside to stretch out and relax or be off to oneself in one of the several separate en suite bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen, TV and Wifi - everything we needed. Could not have asked for more in a vacation rental.
