We are Yankees, who have ended our love affair with snow and ice. Now that both of us are retired we spend the winters in the South. We are here other times as well. My husband is a golfer but I am involved in a variety of other activities. We are both involved with what is happening to and on our island. My husband is active in the Inlet Cove Homeowners Association as well as the Kiawah Island Community Association.
Felice Feldman purchased this cottage in 1989
We are not 'Florida people' and wanted an area that not only offered better winter weather but the advantages of educational, cultural and entertainment activities. Charleston, S.C. meets these needs and is only 30 minutes away. There is something going on all the time. Also it is accessible by air (Charleston Airport is 30 minutes away), train(Amtrack stops in Charleston) and interstate (we are approximately 40 minutes from the intersection of I 95 & 26)
At our age health care is important and the Medical University of South Carolina is located in Charleston. Fortunately we haven't had need of their services.
The view of the sunsets over the Kiawah River are magnificent. Sit on the deck overlooking the river and enjoy its beauty. Inlet Cove is gated with little car traffic making it ideal for walking or biking. The area is an ideal family environment and many families return year after year. Since this is our home a good part of the year it is furnished and maintained for comfort and practicality - not a 'motel/hotel rental unit'. i.e the hot and cold outdoor shower is in the rear so you can go up the back staircase into the house out of view. The large walk in shower in the 2nd bath was installed so I could wash my granddaughter's long hair without falling over the tub!

This was our first visit to Kiawah. I sure hope that it will not be our last. We loved the cottage. Everything was exactly as advertised. We loved the location also,we were just a few steps to the pool, and the dock. The Cottage was very clean and well stocked. The owners were very nice and helpful. Looking forward to another stay in the future.
My husband & I stayed at this cottage last year. I didn't think to write the review at that time, but we are looking into going back this year and I was on the website again trying to find the contact information. We ABSOLUTELY LOVED every moment we spent in Kiawah. This property was clean and more than we had hoped for. It was within walking distance to the beach, the pool was just across the parking lot, and it was a great experience all the way around. I spoke with the owner on 2-3 occasions and she was so pleasant to deal with. Thank you so much!
Walking distance to a general store.
