Space 1,950 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 5 nights

About the property

A comfortable four-bedroom house overlooking the Tomales Bay Tidal Marsh

A comfortable four-bedroom three-bath house one mile south of Inverness overlooking the tidal marsh. It is close to trails and beaches in Point Reyes National Recreation Area and to shopping and restaurants at Point Reyes Station, Inverness and Olema.

The house sits on a hill overlooking the Tomales Bay tidal marshes. It is the last house up a private road, isolated by trees and vegetation from its two neighbors. The only artificial light visible at night comes from farmsteads on the slope of the hill across the bay. At night the silence is total.

There are one king- and two queen-sized beds and three baths. There is a children's bedroom with a sleigh bed and a twin-sized air bed. There is a twin-sized sofa bed in the room adjoining the downstairs bedroom.. There are children’s toys and books. The lower suite with a queen bed, twin-sized sofa bed, and bath has its own entrance. There is no internal staircase and it could be used independent of the upstairs rooms. There is a one-car garage and parking outside.. .

Wifi, Apple smart TV, and land-line telephone. CD player. Waterstone instant hot water and three stage filtration system for drinking water.. Central heat. Propane stove. Electric oven and microwave oven. Dish washer, clothes washer, and dryer. Toaster and coffee maker. Customary kitchen and dining utensils. Wheel chair accessible on the upper floor.

It is midway between Inverness and Inverness Park. it is about five minutes drive to Pt Reyes. Limantour Beach is an easy hike from a trail head around the corner to the south. Hearts Desire, Drakes Beach and other sights and sites in and adjoining the Point Reyes National Recreation Area are within easy reach. There are hiking trails on the Inverness Ridge and throughout the coastal area.

Point Reyes Station shops and restaurants serve an upscale weekend and holiday clientele from San Francisco and Marin County. There are also good restaurants in and on the way to Olema.

We will give you information about how the house works, detailed directions, and the access code to enter the house after you have reviewed the lease agreement and the reservation is confirmed..

Please be considerate of the neighbors. It is a small neighborhood of only three houses and we are accustomed to a lot of quiet. The houses are screened off by trees and not visible to one another but sound carries. Do talk, laugh and dance, but If the sound of your party is keeping the racoons away and, in the spring. drowning out the tree frogs, please consider modulating the noise level. . .

Help is available by phone, email, and, if necessary, in person. More information is available at our website that can be found at: tide view inverness ca.

The price per day includes a 10% Marin County tax. The price before tax is $250 weekdays and $322.72 for Friday and Saturday nights and federal holidays.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Kevin and his guests left the house in fine shape and were possibly a bit too considerate: They spent two days without hot water without complaining. The water is now hot and the problem hopefully will not recur. On the other hand, cold showers are very bracing.

Fantastic place!

  • 5 of 5

This place exceeded our expectations above and beyond! The view is amazing, the house charming and it had everything you could need and more. We had a lovely time. And there was even a pack and play, toys and high chair for the infants with us! Highly recommend, we hope to come back!

Wonderful house! Wonderful host!

  • 5 of 5

This house is situated perfectly—right near Pt. Reyes National Seashore—and with beautiful views of its own. It is a well-maintained, very clean house with gorgeous windows, balconies & a terrace patio. The bedrooms are all decorated with subtle good taste, and the bathrooms are modern & clean. We cooked a few meals in the kitchen& it has everything you need. The host was gracious & easy to communicate with, and kindly left us a bottle of wine to welcome us. We are grateful people like Doug open up their wonderful houses for others to enjoy. Lovely! Thank you!

What a view.

  • 5 of 5

Tide View was perfect for my family. We have stayed at a few places on Point Reyes and this is our favorite. The home is nicer than described and so are the views. We hope to return next year.

Open, clean, relaxing retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Tide View last weekend and wished we could have stayed longer. The location is excellent, and the view is even better than pictured. We watched the fog roll over the hillside in the evenings and it's awesome to watch.

The house itself has a bright, open floor plan and it's just beautiful and relaxing. All rooms but one have a view of Tomales Bay, and the back deck extends the length of the house so you can step out of your room. The master bedroom is awesome and the bathroom is spa-like; it's all white, and I couldn't believe how spotless it was. The whole house was extremely clean. There's a powerful pair of binoculars in the house--so powerful I swear we could see people on their front porch across the bay. Awesome bird-watching, and other nature (slugs!) nearby. We didn't use them, but we saw the washer and dryer in the garage and they look new. The owners have great artwork and photographs throughout and great taste in books/literature. A great collection if you find yourself there with nothing to read.

Great location with a 5-minute drive to Point Reyes Station, about 2 minutes to Inverness, 5 minutes to Point Reyes Visitor Center, and an easy drive to all Point Reyes trails. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to Limantour Beach.

Douglas is pleasant and was great to deal with.

We were very impressed and overall just comfy and happy. We will definitely stay here on future trips.

An ideal house in an ideal location!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Point Reyes area, this one is picture perfect. The view of Tomales Bay is unrivaled, whether you enjoy it from the large deck or from one of the house's many well-placed windows. Gorgeous view aside, the house itself is immaculately clean, modern but cozy, and stocked with everything your group might need for a festive and/or relaxing stay. In addition to the three upstairs bedrooms, there is a huge downstairs apartment that can easily sleep several more people. The property owner provided excellent customer service and the listing description is absolutely accurate in terms of the house location and amenities. All in all, I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. I have stayed in many vrbo properties, and this was one of the best!
