Just like 508, this unit can accommodate up to six (6) guests … and if you plan ahead, you can book BOTH units side-by-side if you have a large party of up to 12 guests … just imagine the benefits and convenience! Why Jill Marie Marzo chose West Maui

My wife (Liliana) and I fell in love with this property the moment we set foot on it in March (2013). We weren't even planning on buying a unit here, but after further consideration, we decided that we could exchange our San Diego investment property for one out here on this gorgeous island (which is now our neighboring unit Konea 508) allowing ourselves a 'reason' to visit Maui on a regular basis! When our local friend and realtor recommended we stay at Honua Kai, we took his advice, and as they say ... the rest is history! We are now proud and happy owners of 'Konea twins' … units 506 and 508!

Honua Kai is the first whole ownership development built on Ka'anapali Beach in more than 25 years. From its opening in 2009, Honua Kai has become the latest and finest resort and residential property in West Maui.

Great place to call home for a week

We had a wonderful time with our 3 boys in this condo. It's clean, has an ocean view, and its well stocked for what you need. The owner Jill checked in with us to make sure we were happy and we were, we will be back!

Hard to beat the Honua Kai

We have stayed in Honua Kai several times, in both buildings, but always rented directly from the resort. Renting through vrbo is just as easy; there is really no difference. That said, Jill Marzo and her colleagues were easy to reach and responsive.

This particular unit is in the Konea tower, looking south onto the gardens with a partial ocean view. It is very nice in that it has1 BR + den, at a lower price than 2 BR. The den could easily be used as a second BR (sofa bed), although we did not as there were only 2 of us.

The condos at Honua Kai simply cannot be beat on Maui. They are all clean, new and modern. The washer and dryer are great due to constant use of the beach/pool. The kitchens are well appointed and very useful. I love the huge beautiful bathrooms. And the folding doors opening from all living rooms and bedrooms to the lanai is the best feature. Dukes is a great restaurant and the pool areas are gorgeous. The kitchen in this particular unit could have had a few extras, such as essentials like salt and pepper and sugar (we left ours behind), better knives, and coffee filters that fit the coffee maker. That said, there is a closet full of goodies to use on the beach (boogie boards, chairs, childrens toys, etc) Overall, however, very convenient.

Staying at the Honua Kai is a no-brainer for a great vacation in Maui, with Maui being the best place ever. I will always give my stay there 5 stars. However, there were 2 small nagging things in the unit...one is, by no fault of the owner, a gravel pit was built across the highway in direct view of the lanais on this south-facing part of the building :( However, there wasn't really any noise, and if you try to ignore it, it did not interfere with the view very much (I would prefer this to the south side of the Hokulani building which is currently staring at the construction site of the new Westin building!) Second, and this is for us poor Canadians who have to travel with a devalued currency, the Honua Kai is really pricing itself out. When all was said and done (taxes, fees, cleaning charges, parking, etc) this unit costs $650 CDN nightly. Ouch!

Place was wonderful.

Brought all of our kids on trip this time. Had plenty of room for us and 4 kids. Enjoyed the pool and exercise room. Great location.

Nice condo

The condo was lovely, and the owner (Jill) helpful. It would've been nice is she would've had written instructions ON the fridge for the icemaker, and the same for the TV's (they were both different), as well as the air conditioner. We had a little difficulty getting to the condo, because where we were supposed to turn into the complex, the street sign has one name on one side of the street, and a different name on the other side. So mainly, a few minor inconveniences. The grounds were lovely, and the valet people were jonny-on-the spot.
