ALOHA and WELCOME to Konea tower's Suite 506! We are the proud owners of our SECOND unit here at Honua Kai, our first being our neighboring unit 508 (VRBO #498772) - right NEXT door! Just like 508, this unit can accommodate up to six (6) guests … and if you plan ahead, you can book BOTH units side-by-side if you have a large party of up to 12 guests … just imagine the benefits and convenience! My wife (Liliana) and I fell in love with this property the moment we set foot on it in March (2013). We weren't even planning on buying a unit here, but after further consideration, we decided that we could exchange our San Diego investment property for one out here on this gorgeous island (which is now our neighboring unit Konea 508) allowing ourselves a 'reason' to visit Maui on a regular basis! When our local friend and realtor recommended we stay at Honua Kai, we took his advice, and as they say ... the rest is history! We are now proud and happy owners of 'Konea twins' … units 506 and 508!

Honua Kai is the first whole ownership development built on Ka'anapali Beach in more than 25 years. From its opening in 2009, Honua Kai has become the latest and finest resort and residential property in West Maui.

Beautiful and Spacious Home Away From Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and well-maintained condo. The condo is located such that we could enjoy sunrises over the mountains in the morning and ocean sunsets in the evening. The proximity of this location to the boardwalk is terrific, which permitted us to get some exercise and explore the coastline a bit. We did not take advantage of all the beach toys/amenities that the owner provided, but appreciated that they were available to us. We used the fitness center every day - also easy access from the condo.

We loved all of the creature comforts that this condo afforded - there was only one thing that we thought "I wish we had..." and that was loungers on the balcony. We prepared several meals in the condo (and using the community BBQ grills) and appreciated the fact that the owner stocked the condiments, foil, plastic wrap and the like for us. (The nearby grocery store was super convenient and had everything we needed!) From the moment we arrived, we started planning our next visit.

The grounds of Honua Kai are beautiful and the pools are wonderful. We took advantage of the relaxation pool and appreciated that families respected that area and had kids play/splash elsewhere. We read other reviews of Duke's being expensive. We thought their drink prices (delivered poolside) to be reasonable for a resort. We had dinner there one evening, and the food and service were excellent.

We liked the wristband concept (key to the room, garage access, fitness center access, etc. all in one wristband). Other places should adopt it because of the convenience of 'wearing' your key instead of wondering where you last left it. Ha!

All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay in Konea 506 and would definitely consider staying here again! Thank you for making it a fun and memorable vacation experience!

Wonderful unit in wonderful location

We enjoyed our stay in Unit 506. Location is ideal - close to elevators for both underground parking and door to outside for accessing pool areas. Nice views from lanai - also very quiet. We liked that we were not overlooking the pool areas. Bathroom was huge. It was nice to have the extra den space, even just for the two of us. Kitchen was well supplied. The cleaners did an excellent job. My only criticism would be that the carpeting is in need of replacement.
