If you're looking for location and convenience, we are 1 mile east of downtown and a 3 minute walk to the MLK light rail station. Whether driving, riding, cycling, or walking you are sure to get anywhere in central Austin quickly without having to fight traffic.

Built in late 2013 you will get both comfort and charm with this modern farmhouse. The well spaced, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home has a master suite downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs. The large living room windows and french doors opening on to the back patio give plenty of light to this open floor plan. There is also plenty of seating for dining or relaxing in the living room. If you are looking for space outdoors, the house sits on over .5 acres and is home to a majestic, 250+ yr old live oak tree.

If you are a family traveling with small children, a crib, high chair, etc are all available. We can work with you to provide any additional items that would make your trip easier with children, such as strollers, carseats, babysitting references and more.

About Robert McKee

Our dream for this house started back in 2011 when we purchased the 1 acre lot. Two years later construction was completed and we moved in late 2013.

We're a family with 3 kiddos and like to maintain an open door policy. Whether that's additional people living with us, family members in town, friends/friends family, or out of town guests, we love sharing our home with others.

Why Robert McKee chose Austin

We love East Austin because it is a thriving and diverse part of town, increasingly the place to be in near downtown. In addition to being home to some of the best Tex-Mex dining in the city -- Takoba, Licha's Cantina, and El Chile are three favorites-- there are many restaurants, coffee houses and bars on the east side. The hot spots are on Manor Road, East 5th-East 7th, and, more recently, the Mueller Development. Eastside Pies, Dai Due, Bennu Coffee, Haymaker and Contigo are highlights.

What makes this house unique

The entire East side of our first floor features large windows and glass french doors, allowing for lots of natural light in both the living and dining areas. This openness and abundance of light sets the tone for our entire house, which is clean, simple and airy. Self-proclaimed anti-clutter enthusiasts, we keep the house clean and kitsch-free while not skimping on comfort and style.

Clean, Roomy, Well Stocked, Perfect for Family get together

The house is very modern with an open layout close to downtown in a gentrified neighborhood. The amenities were clean and kitchen well stocked. The backyard patio was perfect for barbecuing under the shade of beautiful trees. We had a large family get together so the house was packed. We did a mix of eating out at the various local eateries and fixing meals in using the well stocked kitchen. The Bosch dishwasher worked great btw! Everything went smoothly so we didn't even need to contact the hosts, but the instructions for what to do and how to contact them were clear. I would highly recommend this house to anyone planning to visit Austin.

The property and house was absolutely stunning and very well maintained

Amazing weekend! We rented this home for my sisters bachelorette party, there were plenty of beds and bathrooms for getting ready! The house was very close to downtown and and the hosts even left us a welcome kit with coffee shops and food located within walking distance! Overall great experience !

Perfect house + Great Location

We had a wonderful girls reunion trip at this gorgeous home in central Austin. The house is perfectly decorated and we were situated a short cab/ride-share away from all of the bars and restaurants on our itinerary. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Austin. The owners, as many have mentioned, are attentive, responsive, and accommodating. We had no complaints whatsoever!

Comfortable, modern house. Great Owners. Great for families.

We LOVED our stay at this beautiful house. It has all the modern comfort & amenities, and we loved the great open floor plan downstairs that flows beautifully from kitchen to dining room to living room. The owners are wonderful: extremely responsive with very prompt and helpful communications (both prior to booking, and during our stay) and seem to genuinely want us to have a great time. The 4 bedrooms are all very comfortable and are perfectly set up for 2 young families (2 BR are “adult” with queens, and 2 BR are more for kids with twin/cribs). Perfect for kids: They’ll love the big yard with a swing, chicken coop, and a play structure shared with their neighbors, and there’s plenty of games for kids all ages (and board games for adults). The lot, driveway and part of the yard is shared with the neighbors, so it’s not the most secluded/private lot, but the neighbors are very friendly and have preschool & school-age kids who are excited to play with new kids. The house location is good, an easy drive to downtown and a very easy drive to the airport (though there is not too much walking distance from it). Thank you Robert for providing us with the perfect venue for our Christmas family vacation!

Thoughtful hospitality

We were more than pleased with our stay at this beautiful home in Central Austin. The home was clean, modern, and well furnished. Lucky for us, they also had some lovely neighbors and neighborhood kids. The surrounding neighborhood is transitioning, however, the convenient location and freshness of this home make it very enjoyable stay.
