Thanks for stopping by! We have lived in and visited many parts of the U.S and the world. Personally, although I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the San Francisco Bay Area will always be home for me. The energy of the Bay Area runs through my veins and I know that it is the place that we will eventually move back to.
No matter where you end up staying while you visit the Bay Area, I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do and take advantage of all that it has to offer, including some of my favorite places like Noe Valley, Cole Valley and the Mission District in the city, Sonoma wine country, Stinson Beach and the hikes of Muir Woods and Mt. Tam, and of course, the lovely seaside village of Sausalito!
I would love to learn more about you and your favorite places to visit. I hope that the Bay Area becomes one of them.
Michelle Waite purchased this house in 2013
We loved the house, loved view, and area. So charming and unique.
Our family of 5 recently stayed for a "too short" stay at the Santa Rosa Lane home. We absolutely fell in love with the authenticity of the house itself, loved the original windows, mill work, furnishings and everything clean, quaint and in order. Really a great location for doing all of SF, in that we were able to Uber around from downtown SF, walk into Sausalito to catch the ferry and leave our car precariously parked atop the very steep driveway (only downfall). Even walking up and down the driveway was tricky one morning after a rainfall. But all in all worth it. Wear gym shoes !
Everything was in working order, clean and very welcoming, tastefully appointed for the 5 of us (our oldest son slept on one of the comfy sofas and didn't mind.) The views are just amazing, as described, and the courtyard/back patio was perfect for dining outside and a wisp of a view even from the backyard.
Would love to return with girlfriends weekend or just husband...or even family. Really cute place!
We had a very nice time at this property. It is in Sausalito just outside of San Francisco. The home is comfortable and lovely with amazing views of the bay. Michelle was very responsive with excellent written directions. Bathrooms are well appointed with nice soaps and towels. We really had a nice time- much better than staying in a hotel. I would recommend highly if you have a larger group or family staying in the area!
Our stay at Michelle's home was simply outstanding. The home was clean and well-appointed, but it also had a sense of going back in time to the 1940's or 1950's. Perhaps that was the wood flooring, the beams and fireplace in the living room and the large, old trees around the house and in the backyard. Anyway, it exuded the charm of an earlier time as well as the peace and solitude we were looking for in a rental.
There are only two bedrooms though. The bed and trundle in one bedroom really wouldn't work for a couple or anyone taller than about 5'4". It would be great for children though. Our 19-year-old slept in that bed, while the 23-year-old took the large couch in the family room, so we made it work. There are two showers, which was helpful, as well as a half-bath. The back patio is very private and quiet and made for a nice place to sit and relax at the end of a day sightseeing. There is a walkway down to Sausalito that is less than a mile in length. It has stairs and a rail and winds through the neighborhood.
As everyone else has already mentioned, the view from almost every room is spectacular. To wake up and see the boats on the bay each morning was such a treat. At night we looked out at the twinkling lights below. Very special. We hope to return one day soon. Thanks, Michelle!
Just a beautiful, serene cottage. Located at the top of Sausalito with fabulous views from almost everywhere. Can't wait till we return to the Bay Area so we can rent it again.
