Lakefront Vacation Home

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 31 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

The house is located at northern end of beautiful Lake George in the heart of the Adirondacks. An alluring, comfortable, and safe spot where you and your family can enjoy a special vacation in a natural, lakeside environment. You can enjoy the many activities that the lake offers, or you could settle on the porch with a good book and enjoy the outstanding views of one of America's most beautiful lakes.

Your stay will be in a 3 bedroom home with 2 full baths, 125 feet of shore front with marvelous views of Prisoner's Island, glorious sunrises and pristine mountain views. The master bedroom has a king size Adirondack bed with a world-class view of the lake. The second bedroom has a trundle bed (sleeps two), and the third bedroom has two twin beds. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining area, a living room with an electric fireplace should you desire the ambiance, and a large screened porch which offers fantastic views of the lake.

This home consists of a private dock and deck that extends out over the lake that is available until November 1st each year. You may enter the swim area from your private sea wall, which is especially ideal for children as there are stairs that allow you to walk right into the lake (which deepens gradually). There is over a hundred feet of lakefront, a gas grill for barbequing, outdoor lighting, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and air conditioning. Launch your boat just 3.5 miles away at the New York State boat ramp. Boat rentals are available 2.8 miles away, or a paddle-boat is available to rent.

Nearby points of interest include historic Fort Ticonderoga, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom, and Saratoga Casino and Raceway. You could golf at the nearby Ticonderoga Country Club or play tennis at the free public courts. You might consider a drive to the Adirondack High Peaks region, and it's only a short ferry ride to Vermont where you can enjoy excellent shopping, antiquing and unparalleled scenic drives. The house is located on a paved town road with minimal traffic for safe biking and walking with lake views.

There are many ways to vacation at Lake George, but regardless of what you wish to do, a stay at our Lake George Getaway offers a unique and special site. Come see us during the summer season, or come off-season to enjoy the fall foliage. If you are looking for a family vacation-- or a quiet retreat, we can provide both. We'd love to host you anytime! Feel free to call us with questions.

About Gregg S. Chappell

I was born one month after the purchase of the home in Ticonderoga. I spent my Summers there as a child, and later lived there all year round as I entered my teenage years. It has remained in my family through college (in Castleton, Vermont), my entrance into the field of education as an elementary teacher, and as my family was established and grew. I now live in Whitehall, New York, and am a school administrator. My wife and three children have enjoyed the camp for many years with my mother. We have decided that this beautiful camp is ready to be shared with others who would enjoy all it has to offer!

Gregg S. Chappell purchased this house in 1969

Why Gregg S. Chappell chose Ticonderoga

The location of the property is perfect for family vacations. It is directly on the water, and is perfect for those who wish to enjoy one of America's beautiful lakes, without all the traffic that is part of the southern end of the water.

What makes this house unique

The view from the property is worth the stay in itself. It is close to many major tourist attractions. Growing up here was a true pleasure, and I realize how blessed I was to be a part of my wonderful family and live in an area with so much to offer. From the beautiful sunrises to the pink sunsets, you will find that is the perfect place for you and your companions.

A perfect setting!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week at Gregg's Camp! The setting is so lovely with the morning sun, the views across the Lake are stunning, we feel so at home there. The screened in front porch is the perfect place to savor for a peaceful cup of tea in the morning and cocktail in the afternoon. We enjoy dinner on the porch while we watch the sun slowly set on the mountains across the Lake. The house is spacious and the kitchen has all the amenities for cooking meals at home, but you are also close to a number of restaurant options, if cooking isn't in your vacation plans. Gregg is very responsive to any needs and we would highly recommend his Camp for anyone looking to spend time on the northern end of Lake George.

Our stay was awesome! The location is breathtaking and truly a small piece of heaven.

  • 5 of 5

The weather was the only damper for us. We were hoping to boat, swim, and enjoy all of our water sports more but it was a bit cool and rainy some days. There are numerous sites to visit, but being from the area we have experienced many of them already so instead we read, did a jigsaw puzzle on the beautiful screened in porch facing the lake and overall just recharged our batteries on the poor weather days.

The house had anything we could need and then some. The owner has truly given a lot of thought to what the consumer would need during there stay. There was an extra propane tank in case the grill ran out, wifi, cable tv, numerous movies for all ages, many books and some very interesting ones on the history of Lake George. All appliances were modern and in great working order. The house was immaculate upon arrival and any information you might need was conveniently documented in a binder.

The dock and shoreline were large enough for our 25 foot boat and in great condition. There was extremely comfortable furniture to just enjoy quiet time sitting next to the lake .

The view in the morning from the master bedroom is stunning and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this venue for a family. Our adult children had to work a majority of the time so they visited sporadically and my hope is that there schedules will allow them to stay and enjoy it more on our next visit. We felt the cost was comparable to other venues and would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners for sharing your lovely property.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Such a beautiful view from the home. We enjoyed boating, fishing and just relaxing in this tranquil environment. The home was clean and we had everything there that was needed. We definitely will plan another trip there and would highly recommend this to family and friends.
