Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

The house is located at northern end of beautiful Lake George in the heart of the Adirondacks. An alluring, comfortable, and safe spot where you and your family can enjoy a special vacation in a natural, lakeside environment. You can enjoy the many activities that the lake offers, or you could settle on the porch with a good book and enjoy the outstanding views of one of America's most beautiful lakes.

Your stay will be in a 3 bedroom home with 2 full baths, 125 feet of shore front with marvelous views of Prisoner's Island, glorious sunrises and pristine mountain views. The master bedroom has a king size Adirondack bed with a world-class view of the lake. The second bedroom has a trundle bed (sleeps two), and the third bedroom has two twin beds. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, a separate dining area, a living room with an electric fireplace should you desire the ambiance, and a large screened porch which offers fantastic views of the lake.

This home consists of a private dock and deck that extends out over the lake that is available until November 1st each year. You may enter the swim area from your private sea wall, which is especially ideal for children as there are stairs that allow you to walk right into the lake (which deepens gradually). There is over a hundred feet of lakefront, a gas grill for barbequing, outdoor lighting, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and air conditioning. Launch your boat just 3.5 miles away at the New York State boat ramp. Boat rentals are available 2.8 miles away, or a paddle-boat is available to rent.

Nearby points of interest include historic Fort Ticonderoga, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom, and Saratoga Casino and Raceway. You could golf at the nearby Ticonderoga Country Club or play tennis at the free public courts. You might consider a drive to the Adirondack High Peaks region, and it's only a short ferry ride to Vermont where you can enjoy excellent shopping, antiquing and unparalleled scenic drives. The house is located on a paved town road with minimal traffic for safe biking and walking with lake views.

There are many ways to vacation at Lake George, but regardless of what you wish to do, a stay at our Lake George Getaway offers a unique and special site. Come see us during the summer season, or come off-season to enjoy the fall foliage. If you are looking for a family vacation-- or a quiet retreat, we can provide both. We'd love to host you anytime! Feel free to call us with questions.

About Gregg S. Chappell

I was born one month after the purchase of the home in Ticonderoga. I spent my Summers there as a child, and later lived there all year round as I entered my teenage years. It has remained in my family through college (in Castleton, Vermont), my entrance into the field of education as an elementary teacher, and as my family was established and grew. I now live in Whitehall, New York, and am a school administrator. My wife and three children have enjoyed the camp for many years with my mother. We have decided that this beautiful camp is ready to be shared with others who would enjoy all it has to offer!

Gregg S. Chappell purchased this house in 1969

Why Gregg S. Chappell chose Lake George

The location of the property is perfect for family vacations. It is directly on the water, and is perfect for those who wish to enjoy one of America's beautiful lakes, without all the traffic that is part of the southern end of the water.

What makes this house unique

The view from the property is worth the stay in itself. It is close to many major tourist attractions. Growing up here was a true pleasure, and I realize how blessed I was to be a part of my wonderful family and live in an area with so much to offer. From the beautiful sunrises to the pink sunsets, you will find that is the perfect place for you and your companions.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Such a beautiful view from the home. We enjoyed boating, fishing and just relaxing in this tranquil environment. The home was clean and we had everything there that was needed. We definitely will plan another trip there and would highly recommend this to family and friends.

Sincerely,

John McCarthy

Quiet and Relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We had a relaxing time and it was so nice to be at the quiet end of the lake. The house met all of our needs and the porch overlooking the lake was especially nice.

The boat launch at Mossy Point is great too and safe enough to leave your trailer.

Baldwin Rd. is quiet with little noise and traffic.

Definitely recommend it and Gregg is terrific to deal with!

What a great time!

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived and stepped through the front door, the view of the lake was striking! This was a very spacious, comfortable house, and the screened-in porch was the best! We ate all our meals at the table on the porch. The lawn goes right down to the lake, and the dock & deck were very convenient. The view of the lake from the master bedroom, upstairs, is beautiful day or night. It is a quiet neighborhood on a side road, but it is close to town and the NY State launch at Mossey Point. It really exceeded what was expected. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a place of their own for a week that is relaxing, right on the water & away from the tourist traps but close to great places like Fort Ticonderoga. We had a great stay!

Wonderful vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time. The house is wonderful and the views of the lake inside and out are incredible- not to mention the fantastic view of the sunrises. Swimming and boating great. House is very clean and well maintained. Lake very quiet compared to areas south of Ticonderoga. Looking forward to returning next summer!

Clean home, spacious with beautiful views of the l

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Gregg's place on Baldwin Rd was fantastic! We were there for about five days, could have spent two weeks there easily. Easily the best property we have rented on the lake.

The back porch was the perfect place to watch the sunrise over the mountains, lighting up the lake as we enjoyed our morning coffee. Our two little girls 2 1/2 and 4 loved to be able to walk down the stairs of the dock into a gradual sandy place to swim, find rocks and shells. The dock was in great shape and accommodated my parents pontoon boat easily. My wife enjoyed taking out my Dad's kayak in the early morning around prisoners island or over to Rogers Rock.

The bedrooms were plenty of space for 4-6 people. The only thing i wish it had was a queen or king bed in the master. The well stocked kitchen was good for preparing meals of all sizes.

If you get a chance, walk Baldwin road south all the way to the dead end.

Also if you get a chance, while it is cool in the morning. grab a bunch of water and hike up cook mountain. You will see a beautiful view of the lake that is just magical!

We will definatly recomend the place to family and friends. We hope to rent there again over the years.

Thanks Gregg!
