Guestbook comments from the owner

This quaint cabin is tucked near the base of the flyfishing only area of Penn's Creek. The cabin is attractively decorated and in great shape. We had a wonderful time cooking on the grill and fishing right in front of the cabin. A fun area to hike nearby as well. Great location to relax!

Creekside heaven

  • 5 of 5

A slice of Penns Creek heaven. We only regret our stay couldn't have been longer as the fall colors had not quite reached their peak. Next time!

Great, but lots of human noise.

  • 3 of 5

My family and I live in the midst of New York, with noisy vehicles and neighbors all around us. Thus we decided to take a little vacation to relax, and be free from all the work and stress. However, as we arrived at our destination (The house we stayed in), we heard noise, human noise, and we noticed several construction and/or destruction vehicles. They worked from early morning to the afternoon and did not give us what we wanted, quiet and peace. We were never informed of this on the website, nor were we ever told through messages. My children did not mind the noise that much, but my husband and I were disturbed.

Other than the noise, we had a lot of fun playing games indoors and outdoors. The environment was clean and natural as we expected, lots of greenery and trees. The hiking trails were awesome and fun to walk. We saw animals and insects that we never saw before!

Owner's Response: Sorry you did not enjoy your stay as much as we would have liked you to. It is noted on our listing that local bridge work had begun and it was stated in emails with alternate directions to get to the cabin itself. We, of course, can not control the times/hrs that the construction is taking place.

Lovely, cozy cabin right on Penn's Creek

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautifully updated inside, with plenty of space for 6 adults and one child. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived. The back porch is very spacious and looks out on the creek, so it's a great place to enjoy the summer air. We've never seen so many fireflies! We made use of the grill, and the kitchen was well-stocked. The owner was great to work with, and very responsive. We visited nearby Penn's Cave, which was a lot of fun! We had a wonderful time, and would definitely stay here again!

Cozy Cabin With Everything You Need!

  • 5 of 5

My family just cleaned, locked and departed this cabin for our extended father's day get-a-way weekend. We had 4 adults and 4 children from Infant to 15 years old and we had more than enough room throughout the cabin. Cooking was easy with the stocked kitchen and great layout. The location is great with easy access to a shallow/ wide section of the creek that was great for the kids to play in. The owner is great with communicating with very quick response time. We enjoyed ourselves very much and I look forward to staying there again!

I would definitely return, especially if I intended to stay put in the cottage the entire time.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely, remote retreat with water views and plenty of open space. The cottage is as pictured and there are plenty of games and movies available for use. My interactions with the owner were positive and she was easy to speak with in the phone as well.

the cabin is great! Too bad the weather did not cooperate.

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week in the cabin on Penns creek. the rain swelled the creek to a point where it was unfishable. So, we made lemonaide out of lemons, finding remote fishable water, and catching some trout. everyone looked forward to a hardy dinner at the cabin at the end of the day. the grill is a great feature. We grilled great meals.
