Ideal family retreat
Our family of six were absolutely thrilled with this large and historic apartment that is an ideal location. We could not have asked for anything more. The owner Mike is also very kind and was pleasure to work with.
Paris in the cold spring time!
We were a family of 8 - and the home fit us nicely. Yes as other reviewers have stated - lots of stairs but clean and plenty of bathrooms. We were not able to use the beautiful patios (too cold) but enjoyed the closeness to the subway system and we went to a few restaurants/bakeries Mike recommended. Food markets were convenient and also went to the french market on Saturday morning right down the street - this was spectacular! Mike and Mr Marcel were wonderful hosts - two bottles of wine awaited us and they were there to greet us upon arrival. Truly enjoyed our short time in Paris and would look to stay there again if we return.
Had a lovely time at Mike’s place in snowy Paris!
We all really enjoyed staying in Mike’s cosy and quirky house and received a very warm welcome from both Mr Marcel the concierge and from Mike himself. We also enjoyed the generous gift of wine & champagne to assist our celebrations.
Would love to return in a different season when we can use the terrace.
The house had everything we needed and we loved the area.
Many thanks again to Mr Marcel and Mike. It was lovely to meet you both.
We were very pleased as to the location of this home. It is only steps away from the NATION metro station! This was the first time for us in Paris, and having the metro so close by was awesome! The house was very clean, and beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who visits Paris! It is perfect for a family or several couples. Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful city!
Quirky, but French
Great place, but as highlighted in other reviews, this place is only for the agile. Having said that, my 87 year old mother with her prosthetic hip and size 9 feet still managed the stairs - and note, there's lots of them. This apartment is right on the street and near the Nation Station. The food market, that also sells rather lovely knitwear as it happens, is a 10 minute walk away and held each Saturday. Fun fact, if you're around during political upheaval demonstrations pass right past your door - much to our delight while we were there! The courtyard upstairs looked great, but it was already getting a bit cool to enjoy it, but no doubt it's lovely in summer. And there's plenty of boulangeries nearby, even on Sundays!
Charming, spacious and just what we hoped for!
We traveled to Paris with our 3 adult children and their spouses. It is difficult to find a place to rent with 4 bedrooms and we lucked out in finding this property! It also has 3 bathrooms, which is rare anywhere, and was very much needed with so many people trying to get out the door at the same time. The townhouse also has a small, private deck which were were able to enjoy a couple of evenings which was a treat! The beds are all very comfortable as well. The one thing to note is there are many stairs as this is a multi-level townhouse. This was not an issue for us and would not have been a deal breaker as we are accustomed to this from our travels throughout Europe in the past. Though the location is not within walking distance to many of the main attractions, there are many metro stations within a block or two, including the RER A. This made it very easy and convenient to get where we were going. The neighborhood is very safe with much to offer in way of food, drink, grocery, pharmacy, etc. Mike, the owner is very easy to work with. He was out of town the week we were in Paris and arranged for his caretaker, a kind gentleman by the name of Mr. Marcel, to meet us and help us acclimate to the area. It was a fantastic rental for the 8 of us and we would definitely return!
It has been a great pleasure hosting you and your family.
Hope to see you again.
Safe and family neighborhood. Cafes, restaurants, outdoor French food markets, wine and cheese sellers, bakeries... Promenade "High line" from Bastille to Bois de Vincennes is like using the NYC high line to go from meatpack district to central park but this is the original.
