LOCATED CLOSE TO PISA, LUCCA and FLORENCE

A farmhouse apartment in Tuscany and a perfect base for exploring Tuscany.

Appartamento Rosmarino is situated on an award winning organic olive farm, surrounded by olive groves, orchards and sweet smelling pines.

Appartamento Rosmarino is a one bedroom apartment situated not too far from the centre of Vicopisano, often referred to as one of Tuscany’s most beautiful villages and best kept secrets.

The apartment offers both rustic charm and simplicity so typical of Tuscan rural houses. This is the ideal place to stay if you are looking to immerse yourself into a typically authentic Tuscan lifestyle.

The apartment has its own private entrance and is situated opposite the main mill house with lovely views over the 18th Century mill house and gardens.

You will be able to see the farmers at work, the mill where the oil is produced and sample the wonderful tastes which are produced on this charming farm.

If you need to pick up supplies the village center is just a 2 minute drive away or for those who like walking it’s a 10–15 minute picturesque wander past the kiwi plantations and Medieval towers.

Come in the Spring and witness the fruit trees in blossom and the buttercup meadows. Visit in the Summer and see the surrounding sunflower fields.

In September you will see the harvest of the grapes and in October you will see the harvest of the olives but to see the olives turned into the golden nectar you must come and visit in November!

Vicopisano is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful region of Tuscany and the cities of Pisa, Lucca, Florence and Siena, as well as being just under a 30 minute drive away from the Pisan coast, its beaches, Thermal Spas and Golf Course.

Surrounded by a beautiful landscape of sunflower fields, pine covered hills and olive groves this is an ideal location for walking, hiking, cycling and mountain biking.

Wonderful Tuscan Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This property is lovely. Hosts Lucia and Nicola were gracious and treated us like treasured friends as guests! The area is very interesting historically - do take the Tower tour! And of course the surrounding hills are beautiful to walk and explore. Marie was a gem, helping us with dinner reservations, directions and general information and recommendations for the village and nearby towns. The perfect place to relax and soak up the sun in the midst of amazing beauty!

Charming authentic Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

The spacious apartment is decorated in authentic Tuscan style, with an outstanding view of the fortress , which looks wonderful in the day and lite up at night. It's a short walk into the charming village of Vicopisano where you can mingle with the locals and also buy groceries. You can conveniently take a bus to Pisa and Pontedera from the village square. Best place to rent a car is Europcar in Pisa. Marco, who was our 'go to' at the farm, was very nice and most helpful, making our stay extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend the wild boar at Bago Maggiore, cappuccinos or drinks at the cafe in the square and for sure doing the tour of the fortress on the weekends. The olive oil and wine tour given by Marco was very informative and fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this little part of paradise in Tuscany.

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

A tranquil setting where one can do a lot or simply sit and enjoy.

The apartment was very well equipped - we had all we required.

The staff could not be more helpful and someone was always on hand to answer any question we might have had.

You need to be able to have access to a vehicle as access to transport was difficult. Transport would give guests an easier way to explore the many villages surrounding.

Owner's Response: Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for the review … We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at the farm and thank you for pointing out to our future guests that renting a car may be a good option if you are planning to explore off the beaten track and the small hilltop towns and villages. Our listing does point out that a car is recommended and we do send our guests a 'Pre Welcome Information Pack' full of ideas of what to see and do in the area and how to get around. We hope this helps our guests decide on whether a car is necessary. Many of our guests do get around using public transport as there are buses from the village square (10 minute walk) to Pisa (50 minute journey ) and to the town of Pontedera (10 minute journey) and from Pontedera you can get the train to Florence (45 minutes) and a bus to Lucca (45 minutes). We do agree that it takes more effort to plan your journeys without a car but a lot of this does depend on what our guests are looking to do and see in the area. Thanks again for finding us Elizabeth, we hope you come back to visit again one day. Best wishes, The family and staff at the farm and Concierge managers Marie and Lorenzo

Fun and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful three night stay at Appartamento Rosmarino. We had a few challenges finding the location but a simple phone call to Maria solved that problem. The apartment was exactly as described and Marco was wonderful at explaining how to use the stove and the coffee pot along with doing a phenomenal job at touring us around the Farm and explaining so much. Although there is no view from this unit you are welcome to relax and enjoy the view from the comfortable seating area below which we did with a bottle of the wine produced and sold here each evening. Everyone on the property including the resident dog and cats made us feel very welcome.
