We just returned from a week on the Big Island of Hawaii, staying in unit 8A at Hali'i Kai the entire time. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Lisa and this condo...from the moment I contacted Lisa, everything went smoothly with the rental process and we appreciated having Bennett on site to meet us upon arrival. He was also a great source of local information! The unit itself was exceptionally clean and very well appointed with everything we needed for the week...ample linens and towels, a kitchen fully stocked with pots/pans/utensils...I was even pleased to find shampoo and conditioner in the shower since I had forgotten mine :) There were also great "nice to have" items such as beach chairs and towels, a large cooler, boogie boards, and even laundry hampers. And it was helpful to have a washer and dryer in the unit, too! We are a family of five (mom, dad, three elementary school-aged boys) and the layout and furnishings in 8A were perfect for us :) Oh, and did I mention the patio, with seating for 4, a BBQ, and a lovely view of the ocean! The whole Hali'i Kai development was beautifully maintained and the club/pool area was definitely appreciated by our family. The boys LOVED the heated pool and mom and dad enjoyed relaxing poolside with a cocktail and the nearly 180 degree ocean view. We had a fantastic time and I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone interested in staying in the Waikoloa area.
What a beautiful property this one is. Incredibly well equipped (even beach chairs and ins if Tupperware containers), quiet, beautiful view, wonderful attention to detail as far as decor. Can't say enough about it.
My family of 3 just returned from an all-too-quick spring-break on the Big Island. We thought Villa 8a at Hali'i Kai was perfect - spotless on arrival, well-appointed for cooking, a great assortment of toys for playing & adventuring (boogie boards, coolers, snorkel gear, tennis rackets, basketball, beach umbrella) and a big lanai for dining/drinking/coffee-ing with a solid ocean view across the golf course.
Hali'i Kai is a great alternative in Waikoloa to the bigger resorts - much more mellow but still with easy access to the King's & Queen's Shops and A-Beach, and a really lovely setting for their pool club - where I think we spent 5 of our 7 sunsets. The staff at the pool club is wonderful, the food was WAY tastier than expected and if you have children, this is a great place to introduce them to new friends.
Lisa was very easy to work with. She responded immediately to our inquiry and our questions leading up to the trip. She provided well-organized information and was gracious enough to help us out when we needed to receive a delivery. Lisa obviously takes a great deal of pride in her property and in her role as an owner. Bennett, 8A's manager, pleasantly welcomed us to 8a and went the extra mile for us when we needed him (unrelated to the unit).
We'd absolutely recommend this property and would rent it again ourselves if we returned to Waikoloa.
No trip to the Hawaiian Islands would be complete without visiting the Big Island of Hawaii. The Big Island offers wonderments not found on the other islands. The first impression of the lava flows that cover the landscape seem harsh, however that thought quickly changes to awe when one realizes that if not for the volcanoes there would not be any Hawaiian Islands. A quick drive from the Kona Airport takes one to the lushly appointed grounds and surroundings of the Waikoloa Resort area. All amenities that one needs while on vacation; shopping, fine dining, and groceries are available here. We were excited to enter the condo at the Hali'Kai development and it did not disappoint. This condo is the perfect retreat while visiting Hawaii. From the beautiful decorations and furnishings to the well appointed kitchen one could not ask for more comfort. In addition the owner provides many extras such as boogie boards, beach toys and towels, and full use of bathroom toiletries and kitchen condiments not found in similar accommodations. My favorite area was the Lanai. Relaxing there in the evening with a cold beverage, warm breeze and watching the sun set beyond the golf course, palm trees, and into the pacific ocean is heaven on earth. Beyond this awesome condo the facilities at Hali'Kai include an oceanfront pool, spa and exercise area, and an outdoor restaurant and bar. The restaurant offers an evening happy hour that includes delicious appetizers and cocktails. Not to be missed is the near by Lava Lava restaurant and bar and the easy beach hike from there up to the Hilton Resort to see the dolphin pools. On many of the area beach hikes we saw sea turtles on shore and in the water. We had a car on this trip which afforded us the opportunity to venture out to all parts of the Island. Huge in comparison to the other islands and diverse beyond the imagination, it is worth venturing out to the botanical gardens, waterfalls, farmers markets, quaint towns, and to experience the lush and varied environment. While driving we were always on the look out for the wild goats and donkeys that live in the lava beds on the island. We finally saw a family of goats near the grounds of the Waikoloa Resort which was one of the highlights of the trip. The sight of all these animals reminds one that Hawaii is a special place full of wonders that one can't experience any place else on this earth. Staying in total comfort in the Hali'Kai condo made this the perfect vacation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and this condo was a big part of that.
The condo was in a perfect location on the island and on the property itself. It has an awesome view and provides easy access to many things the properties has to offer, such as ocean front pool, restuarant, and work out facilities.
From having on on-site manager there to welcome us and answer any questions that came up, the meticulously clean condo which provided not only a perfect living condition, but a wonderful view as well. The incidentals that were included with the condo were also a great touch - from the spices, condiments, dishwashing & laundry detergent, ample toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, as well as a closet full of beach necessities ! The decoration and furnishings in the condo were also top notch.
The condo met all of our needs and actually likely exceeded our expectations. It's even better than the pictures !
We will be sure to be in contact when we make it back to the Big Island and we will be sure to recommend this condo to any family and friends that will be visiting.
You can't go wrong with this condo ! Enjoy !!
Our family spent 4 nights at this beautiful condo and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. It was the perfect location to not only use as a launching pad for the many adventures the Big Island holds but also a perfect place to come back to and relax. Hali'Kai has many amenities to offer every family member with a pool, fitness center and restaurant plus nearby shops. The condo offers everything you need for indoor comfort and outdoor activities. The setting is gorgeous! We enjoyed many mornings and evenings from the lanai that overlooked the golf course and used the ocean as its backdrop. I will not only return to this spot when I make my next visit to the island but will highly recommend it to friends and family that may be traveling that way.
