Retired professor. We travel internationally & have two Bichon's. Love to walk on the waterfront and eat the best fresh fish at Mitch's Seafood which is located at the Sport fishing landing. Balboa Park & the Zoo are favorites; Park has the Prado Restaurant which has great happy hour drinks & food; Zoo has Albert's Tree Restaurant which many do not know about; it is breezy & has an African motif.
Ron & Susan Oleson purchased this apartment in 1990
We have a vacation home rental & realized our geographic apartment location would be great for its accessibility to all that San Diego offers. We have a century home in front of the apartments & really enjoy San Diego's great sites like our Ball Park, just 3 minutes away & the Gaslamp.
Accessibility is key and the airport is so convenient due to our travels that we know those coming to San Diego can benefit from this travel ease.
Beautiful garden, walkable neighborhood, nearby grocery, bakery, and restaurants. Close freeway access. This is the second time we have stayed at this property and have enjoyed it both times. It would be nice if there were recycle bins near the rooms. Also make sure the access code to the gate is up-to-date.
Ron and Susan were pleasant and entirely non-invasive, the place was cozy and the outdoor area is absolutely beautiful and relaxing, the place was clean and functional. Everything was great- we were there for 11 days without a single problem with the place or the environment. In fact, the neighbors (some were other travelers) were fun and kind as well :) Also, the corner store has a lot of organic food so if that is a plus for you- there you have it!
We have stayed at this property twice over the last two years, and we have been thrilled both times. The apartment is fabulous, and it is located close to just about anything in San Diego. We went to Imperial Beach three times, and each trip took no more than 12 minutes by car to park and begin walking to the beach. Sea World was just about as close, and the zoo was literally 5 minutes away. In addition, the rates can't be beaten by any place in the area outside of a run down motel. Please don't raise the rates because we would like to return for another family vacation in the next two or three years!
We stayed for 4 days and San Diego was just beautiful and not to mention the amazing weather!! The apartment was just as nice with all the beautiful plants and the tables and grills that were provided. The apartment was just like the pictures and felt very comfortable, and it made us feel like we were at home! I loved how close the Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World, Mission Beach and La Jolla Beach were so close by!
What a beautiful place! Had a very good time in San Diego. The place was cute and was very accommodating for the 4 of us. The size of the place was what we image. The outdoor patio when entering the unit was also a great feature. The owners kept the place in excellent condition. The only small issue I would say is that you can see here your neighbor when the close their door. But besides that, we never heard them. Parking was easy for us to find. It was always on the same street. Side street parking only. Close to everything. I would recommend this place or stay here when I come back in visit in the summer.
Excellent location, close to many downtown attractions, and a very nice apartment. Parking can be an issue, and be wary of the payment arrangements.
The property is located in the heart of Golden Hill, a neighborhood of the original San Diego and has the charm of a historic and old neighborhood. There are several local eateries that you can walk to including a cook your own steaks (Turf Club), Luigi's pizza, stone wood fired pizza, Humbertos, legendary Mexican Food, a couple coffee/sandwhich smoothie shops, Counter Point Wine Bar to name a few. Golden Hill park is down the street with trails that lead to the trails of Balboa Park, which is 4 minutes away as well as the zoo. Golden Hill is about 1 mile up the hill from downtown and makes for a great walk. If you are too tired to walk back, the bus come within a couple blocks of the unit and goes straight there from downtown, the bay and gaslamp. The zoo is just 10 minutes away, seaworld 10 minutes away and beautiful Point Loma Tide Pools just 10 minutes away. Visit the Midway Museum on the bay, walk around historic Old Town, just 10 minutes away Access to all major San
