Beautiful views, saw moose in backyard.

Second time we stayed here and it was better than before. Fished had a campfire and played board games. We loved the kitchen. Nicest place we have stayed.

Great place in Hope,AK

  • 5 of 5

Rented four night for a wedding in Hope. Wife, two sons & three grand daughters. Very nice accommodations. Very pleasant interior with modern fixtures, outdoor gas grill and hot tub. Complete with moose in the back yard. Short walk to downtown Hope, past the Sunrise-Hope Historical Museum and down to the local cafe and tavern. The house has two queen beds, a sofa that opens to a queen/king sized bed, and an auxiliary inflatable mattress (not the kind that looses air in the middle of the night). Located in a very scenic and quiet area.

Very nice and quiet

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our needs, very quiet and secluded. We only stayed 4 nights and packed a lot of adventures into those days which meant we did a lot of driving back and forth to the different destinations. Hope is a very small town and away from everything. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The only problem that I had was with hangers and space to hang up our clothes. Not ever using VRBO before I didn't know what to expect since this is someone's home they are renting out, so obviously their belongings are in the house. I am not sure if this is how all the houses are, but that is how this one is. The owner Shawn also stays in a cabin that is quite close to the house she rents, not a problem though. All in all we had a great time!

Perfect trip

  • 5 of 5

Just want to say that the Lodge is probably one of the nicest places we have stayed in Alaska. We live in Anchorage and were looking for a place to bring my brother and his wife from New York. We wanted to fish and did that in the town of Hope every day. The kids could ride their bikes to the town from the Lodge which was fun for them. We had all the amenities you could ask for and such a clean home. Would recommend this place to anyone. We all hated to leave. Thanks Shawn for some great memories.

Perfect cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

The House in Hope is the perfect Alaskan getaway! it is tucked back in the woods with amazing views. The house is absolutely beautiful, well cared for and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were greeted our first morning with a resident moose and her baby. We enjoyed smores by the fire in the evenings and perfect coffee on the deck each morning. Everything was clean and Shawn is extremely hospitable. I am so happy we chose Hope for our Alaskan experience.

Nothing short of wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week in Hope and the first word that comes to mind is wow!! This home has everything. The kitchen is amazing! Top of the line appliances and cookware, along with every gadget you could ever need. The home is very spacious...beds were super comfy. We walked to town, gold panned with peck, rafted with Chugach and fished with Angler 45. Seaview Cafe & Bar was a yummy spot to eat. Such a great time!! Thanks, Shawn!!
