LOCATION/LOCATION/LOCATION: Our villa is only an 8-10 minute walk to the beach (depending on your stride) or less then 3 minutes by bike but nestled in the quietest part of Shipyard Plantation! It is in one of the prettiest parts of the plantation with sand colored stucco walled buildings, arched private gated entrances and well-manicured yards mixed with natural landscaping on a quiet Cul-de sac overlooking a nature filled lagoon! Your pleasant stroll to the beach is under a cool shaded Spanish Moss covered beach path just a few steps from your villa door. The miles of sandy Hilton Head beaches, Van Der Meer Tennis Center, and the Shipyard Golf Club are all within easy reach!

Renovated and continually updated, it is conveniently located on the 1st floor of a two story Tuscan styled building with only a few steps making it easy to carry luggage, groceries, and/or children into your vacation home. The fully equipped Kitchen has granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Those who love to cook or bake will find it extremely well stocked with equipment and an absolute delight! “Our guests have frequently stated that it is better stocked then their own kitchen at home.” If you to prefer to grill, you will have easy access to the newer community grills just steps away from your front door at the Bar-B-Que area. Who doesn’t like grilling in great weather!

Your living area includes a comfortable queen size sleeper sofa and 2 cozy lounge chairs with a 46 inch flat screen TV including HD-DVR, high end cable service, and DVD player. We provide a variety of DVDs to view as well as family games, books, and magazines! A great environment for relaxing after a long day out. Additional seating is available as well as a great airy family based dining area.

Enjoy a morning coffee or evening beverage on the covered deck with bar table and chairs overlooking a wonderful lagoon and golf view of the 6th hole on the Galleon Course. Experience our wildlife first hand from your private deck including blue herons, jumping fish, alligators and turtles basking in the sun. Access is off the living area allowing easy travel from the kitchen to the deck. Access is also available off the master bedroom for those private early morning views.

The master bedroom and en-suite bath is furnished with a comfortable king bed, plenty of drawers and large walk in closet. There are extra pillows available for those who love to be pillow pampered! Large windows overlook the lagoon making the bedroom airy and bright during the day but plantation blinds and curtains provide the quiet darkness needed for a good night sleep. A computer desk with “wifi” access is available in the MBR for those who just cannot leave their work/laptop at home/office. The master bedroom sports a large wall mounted adjustable flat screen SMART TV. The en-suite master bath has two porcelain sinks with ample granite counter space, modern bright lights and full mirror with a separate area (can be closed off) for the toilet and bathtub/shower ( for those with young ones needing a bath). Two sets of soft luxury towels area provided for every guest staying in the villa.

The second bedroom sports two twin beds, large closet, flat screen TV and DVD player in an airy bright room. Attached bath has a glass/tiled stall shower and ample storage for your every need.

For those with children or planning a longer stay you will appreciate the utility room with brand new extra large washer and dryer just off the kitchen.

We provide beach chairs for every guest along with umbrellas, beach wagon, and beach toys! We also provide beach passes for close in parking for those who don’t want to walk the short distance to the beach!

Need bikes for all those bike paths? We know where and how to get them at a great price!

Your accommodations give you the opportunity to see the many activities within Shipyard besides the beach. The well known Sonesta Hotel is just a stroll away for those that want to eat in a restaurant and not drive a long distance, or for those that are planning a wedding and want to utilize the facilities. The internationally acclaimed Van Der Meer Tennis Facility, named as one of Tennis magazine's top 50 Tennis Resorts, has 20 courts (13 Har-tru and 7 Hard). Eight of the courts are lighted and three are indoors. The Shipyard Golf Club features 27 spectacular holes in a natural setting of moss covered oaks, pines, magnolias and palm trees. It was named by Golf Digest as one of the "Top 75 US golf resorts". The 800 acre plantation has over 12 miles of picturesque biking/jogging trails to fit everyone's interest.

About Chuck and Diane Mills

Chuck and I (Diane) purchased this Colonnade Villa as a vacation home and rental property. Our first experience with Hilton Head Island was in Shipyard Plantation during our Honeymoon over 30 years ago. Having returned many many times over the years, for family vacations with our two daughters, it has become 'Our Place to Go'. When not at Hilton Head, we work and play in Cleveland, Ohio.

Why Chuck and Diane Mills chose South Carolina

We love the subtropical feeling of the Island with its Spanish Moss covered oaks, pines and palm trees and the meandering lagoons of Shipyard. We have always enjoyed the long walks on Hilton Head's white sand beaches and warm waters with crashing waves. Hilton Head Island has everything that we love - Tennis, Beaches, Golf, Great Food at cafes and ocean front restaurants. We have looked at and rented many properties on the Island but found that Shipyard had the ambiance we preferred. The Colonnade Club and specifically this unit provided just the aesthetics we were looking for -- quiet serene views of nature, very close proximity to the beach, fabulous pool and jacuzzi as well as an upscale, and now newly renovated Villa. It is truly a place where we can get a way from our hectic lives back home.

Great Location, great condo, great owners

Wow! This place is really great. By far the best Villa we have stayed at on Hilton Head. Easy walk or bike ride to the beach, beautiful beachy décor, high end towels and sheets and a very well supplied kitchen. In fact the kitchen has more cooking stuff than we do at home. This Villa is private and relatively secluded with a great feel of nature off the balcony. Despite this, the pool ,hot tub and gas grills are only steps away. Pictures don’t do this place justice. On top of this the owners are very accessible and went out of their way to be certain that all of our questions were answered and that we felt very much at home. We will be back again for sure.

Paradise Surprise

We have visited the island for several years. Normally one must discount the value of pictures posted on line; so we prepared ourselves mentally based on previous trips. We were blown away by the beauty and attention to detail that Chuck and Dianne have done to this home and it is indeed a home. Everything from the furniture to the silverware in the tier one cabinets are of the same quaility any of us would have in our own home. This is NOT your typical vacation rental. It's a home away from home. We will be back again and again. We normally don't like surprises... this time it was beyond appreciated.
