About John & Fiona Anthony

Owners born and raised in Penticton.

John & Fiona Anthony purchased this estate in 2007

Why John & Fiona Anthony chose Thompson Okanagan

There is no other place in the world like Penticton and area! Having everything a vacationer would want in a holiday, living and enjoying these benefits was one of the reasons we wanted to own a piece of it. We hope that we can allow for others to come to our city and feel as blessed as we have :)

What makes this estate unique

the large open spaces, extra large heated pool and hot tub

with the spectacular views were just some of the things that made us fall in love with this property. Having bedrooms that accommodated our large handcrafted beds was another.

Would rent again

  • 5 of 5

Three families (6 adults, 6 children) met here to vacation together. We had a blast. The house had ample room for everyone and sleep schedules could be accommodated with ease. The kids and adults used the pool a lot as well as the hot tub, which is right beside the pool. The grassed area with the trampoline was also great for the kids and playing catch and bocce ball. The view was amazing. John and Fiona are a very kind and genuine couple. John was up early everyday cleaning the pool and watering the flowers. The whole house and grounds were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen included flour and some things that we could use. The owners live on site but that wasn't awkward at all - their motor home was around the side of the garage and we didn't see them hardly at all. The apricot and peach trees were a nice plus. Thank you sharing your little bit of heaven John and Fiona!

Great Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We had a family of 15 -- 9 adults & 6 children -- stay at this beautiful vacation home and we could not have been more pleased. John and Fiona were absolutely wonderful to work with and the house and location were perfect. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, feeding such a large number, and there were plenty of beds to manage our crew. I'm sure there was much to do in the surrounding area but our children never wanted to leave the house. The pool, hot tub, trampoline and ping pong table kept them very well occupied and were beautifully maintained. This was our first attempt at gathering the whole family together and after such a wonderful experience and accomodations we're hoping to do it every year and will most certainly look at this property again.

Lovely home

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased with this lovely home, with fabulous views of Lake Skaha. The house is extremely well appointed, with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Our kids spent hours with the pool, ping pong and trampoline. We found the location excellent, with beaches, boat rentals, wineries, fruit stands etc all a short drive.

John and Fiona were fabulous hosts, easy to communicate with, and our damage deposit was returned promptly. Hope to return again!

Do not look any further!!! You will not get any better than this!!!

  • 5 of 5

This estate home in Kaleden is absolutely the very best. We were a party of 12-14 adults and 2 children (attending our sons wedding at Linden Gardens) and there was tons of space for everyone. The view is absolutely incredible. This home has it all. There is not one detail that has been missed. Fiona and John are the most accommodating and awesome people and we loved having them on the property during out stay. We have stayed at many VRBO and this by far is the absolute very best.

Wonderful, clean, exactly as advertised!

  • 5 of 5

Our family and extended family stayed at this wonderful rental during a family reunion/birthday celebration. Telephone and email interactions with Fiona were hassle free and pleasant. John and Fiona were easygoing, encouraging us to invite extended family over to enjoy the pool and BBQ, and allowing one family member with smaller children to park their tent trailer in the driveway. The house was very clean, kitchen well appointed, lots of fruit trees (which Fiona encouraged us to pick and take fruit with us when we left) The pool area was a delight! There was slide, and many deck chairs available to sit in and soak up the sun. We spent hours in the pool enjoying it! Very well kept and clean, as was the hottub. There was lots of space to relax in--the deck where you could sit and enjoy the sweeping view of the lake and the outdoor fire pit. Tickleberries is close by, and I highly encourage you to brave the huge lineup to get the best ice cream you've ever tasted. Our damage deposit was returned very quickly and efficiently via e-transfer. All in all, it was a beautiful home and a good experience. I would definately recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful house, view and hosts at peaceful retreat overlooking Skaha Lake

  • 5 of 5

While it was a gamble to take a VRBO without a review, we lucked out in August 2014 in staying at this property just south of Penticton. The house has a beautiful view of Skaha Lake from the living area and decks. There is a pool that was quite popular with our two families. We were expected to cover it overnight, but after learning the procedure it was easy to handle. The hot tub was suitable for 4. A well-maintained BBQ was our primary tool for cooking, but we did use the nice Wolf range one night. The house has multiple areas, which worked well for the 9 of us. There is a dining table, a separate long table in an adjoining space (a couple of steps down) and counter seats at an island. There is also a seating area with comfortable chairs, and a separate TV viewing area downstairs (with a pull-out sofa). The master suite is a glorious retreat for 2 (including a jetted tub, a separate deck with the best view from the property, and a fireplace). There are 3 additional bedrooms, one with two beds that works well for kids. On the property are numerous fruit trees (apricots were ripe for our stay), a large trampoline, and the pool/hot tub area. Guests should be aware that the owners are on site (staying in a separate corner of the property). We found J&F to be wonderful hosts and enjoyed our interactions with them (one of the kids convinced J to demonstrate the waterslide). The entry to the property is immediately off of highway 97 – it is a little hard to see when approaching and turning onto the highway can be a little stressful. There is no noise at the house, which is on the opposite side of a knoll from the road. With little kids in our group, we were a little on edge making sure that they did not get out onto the pool deck without supervision (I think the owners plan to install a chain on the door onto the deck). Overall, a great property – we hope to return in 2015.
