Affordable, comfortable single-family home sleeps up to 10. Remodeled within last 5 years - newer kitchen, carpets, windows, and roof. Very comfortable and close to skiing (6 miles), clubs, and only a short walk to the Lake.
Two story A-frame house with floor-to-ceiling glass windows in rear - beautiful views. Relax on the hardwood porch while you watch gorgeous sunsets behind Mount Tallac.
Lagoon access to lake. Note that we do rent our dock to a local fishing guide so make arrangements in advance if you need to dock a boat. Our dock tenant is willing to share when needed but I need to make arrangements well in advance. He does have 24x7 access to the dock. He usually departs early in the morning and returns in the late afternoon when he has customers. Very quiet and will not disturb folks.
Plenty of room to stretch out and feel right at home. A shangri-la in the mountains. Rent a bike and glide down the nearby Tahoe Bike Trail. Or check out the Fallen Leaf Lake nearby (about 15 min. drive).
4th Bedroom is a large upstairs loft with three beds: 1 king and 2 doubles (opens to atrium room). Downstairs: 1 king in master, queen bed in one guest room, and a double in the second quest room. 2-car garage attached to house.
Interior fans and central heating (no A/C). Indoor washer/dryer. Cable TV. Fully stocked kitchen with most items to cook complete meals. Fireplace currently being repaired and not usable (repaired by late summer).
Tahoe Keys also issues guest passes (daily fee applies) to indoor pool, tennis courts, and outdoor pool (during summers). Bring your rental contract as proof so the HOA will issue a pass or passes. (NOTE: Indoor pool and jacuzzi current closed due to reconstruction.)
My family has owned our house since the Keys was originally built (my father was the general manager for the Keys when it was developed by Dillingham Corp.). I grew up at the Lake and love returning often. Our house always offers a respite from the craziness of life and a chance to escape to the mountains and fresh air. I love the Keys for its easy access to the lake, beaches, ski slopes, hiking, fishing, camping, and swimming.
Fritz Ogden purchased this house in 1966
We purchased the house from our parents over 4 years ago. We care a lot about our house and want others to feel right at home. It's comfortable and cheery to be in. You will fall in love with Tahoe if you've never visited before - or, if you are returning - you know the hold this area has on folks. Enjoy our little slice of heaven.
We love the views of Mount Tallac from our back porch. It's just a blast to sit out back with your cup 'o joe and enjoy the mornings - or the cool afternoons with a favorite beverage in your paws. Relax and read a good book or play games on a cold, winter day by the fireplace - or tramp around outside with the kids and make snow forts! We enjoyed all of these activities when we were growing up here.
Very nice home in Tahoe keys, great views, the home is very well equipped with pretty much everything you need in the kitchen. Beds are comfortable, upstairs 2 rooms are open to each other so a divider may be nice for making each room private. The weekend we went was very hot so we missed having AC but I think it's rare in Tahoe to be this hot and I don't think many homes there have AC, so maybe some more fans upstairs where it got very hot would be good. The grill outside did not seem to work and seemed very old. Other than that, we had a great time, and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Very prompt, accommodating, and so helpful with all questions we had. I would definitely recommend this property.
The master bed was comfortable, excellent choice in sheets, and the Apple TV was a great perk..
Overall I was impressed with this house. It was very nice, and just as described. We spent most of the weekend on our boat, but the kitchen was nice and the back deck was a great space to relax on.
The owner was very quick to respond to emails and very helpful.
One thing I didn't know before my final day was that the HOA doesn't allow trailers in the driveway for "extended periods." It's not clear what that means, but it's not a problem, just worth knowing before you get there. Your trailer can be stored easily in the marina.
Fritz, the owner, was quick to respond to any question or issues we had. Very appreciated, made our stay more comfortable. Kids loved the staircase leading to the loft, they had countless trips! Unfortunately we didn't get to see any bears, was so looking forward after reading other reviews about bear sightings. The layout of the house worked really well for our group with plenty of seats in the living room, an open kitchen and beautiful deck. Everyone can simply find a perfect spot to relax or get together to chat or make meals for the whole group (a big plus for a very well equipped kitchen).
It was beautiful and spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable. We went for a snowboarding trip and it was extremely close to heavenly and Sierra which was convenient. We got to see a bear which was very exciting.
This was a great home to stay at for our annual Tahoe vacation. My family enjoyed the deck and it was easy to navigate to get to the beaches by bike or car. My children are in their teens so they missed the cable box a little, however we were busy enough. We had a bear for excitement twice! This was a view we won't forget. The view of deck is beautiful. I loved this view quite a bit. I would recommend this place and most likely I would stay again. I would like to see the owners upgrade or fix the shower head in the bathroom with the shower, but other than that it was a good place and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Thanks for sharing your home with my family.
The Tahoe Area is abundant with plenty of sport and leisure activities. Many right out the front door from our house.

The Dock on our property is rented out to a local fishing guide. No other water vessels may be docked without the express permission of owner and the dock tenant. Guests may not climb on or enter tenant's boat. The dock tenant has access to his boat 24x7 and will enter and exit through the side gate of our house. He is very quiet and never disturbs guests.
