Beautiful home in the jungle canopy.

  • 5 of 5

This house had everything that you could ask for. 3 women, 48, 50, and 63 stayed at this beautiful house.

The view was amazing!

Make sure that you have a 4 wheeler. Getting to the house is an adventure in itself.

When we arrived I was concerned about the temperature in the house being too warm, but it cooled down up on the hill with the ocean breezes. The temperature was perfect.

The beds and pillows were so comfortable that I contacted Sherry and Jeff to find out what brand of beds and pillows they were, so that I could buy the same beds for my homes.

Wildlife was everywhere.

We saw two types of Monkeys, the howler monkeys were close one morning at 4:30 but stayed in the valley the rest of the week. We saw a sloth in two different trees right beside the house, while standing on the deck of the main house.

We saw two types of poison dart frog right out the front gate.

We didn't have any problem with mosquitoes in early May.

Sherry and Jeff were great hosts.

Regina and Kristi

Good, well designed and finished hotel

  • 4 of 5

Good spacious rooms with comfortable beds, air conditioning, mini kitchen, good bathroom.

Good breakfast included in the price (but why use the little wrapped packets of butter, so inconvenient). Staff very efficient , friendly and helpful.

If you have not hired a car there is a good, frequent, cheap bus service in both directions from the hotel. Reception can help in booking tours and in transport to/from the airport or a different resort.

Owner's Response: I don't think this review is referring to our guest house as listed. We are not a hotel and don't have a breakfast service. Our Mango Walk guest house has two bedrooms two baths full big equipped kitchen and lots of living space. Maybe this review is for another hotel.

A Perfect Week!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at the Mango Walk house along with another couple. The pictures online are beautiful but cannot prepare you for just how breathtaking this property really is! We stayed in 3 different locations/cities during our time in CR and this was bar far the best. Not only was the house beautiful and clean, but the beds and pillows were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the area felt safe, and of course, Jeff and Sherry were lovely hosts! One helpful reminder, you do NEED a 4x4 vehicle as the driveway is steep, but it sure is fun to drive up and down with a 4x4! Be sure to build time into your stay to take the Caribeans Chocolate tour and to just be at the house! We were thankful that we did not plan activities for every moment as some of our favorite times were sitting on the deck having dinner or drinks. Regarding temperature, the house stays VERY comfortable, we had it completely open during the day and then would just have the screens shut in the evenings. Be sure to keep the lights off as to not attract critters! There are lots of ceiling fans and a few oscillating fans, we truly never felt hot. The house has a water filtration system on the faucet, we drank out of the tap all week. I would recommend bringing a pair of binoculars, there are a pair on the deck, but if you are like our group, we all wanted to watch the sloths and iguanas at once so having more than 1 pair was perfect. Lastly, pack light. When you read that PV is casual, believe it, a few sun dresses and a bathing suit are plenty. We would recommend this house to anyone and plan to visit again someday. It was perfect in every way!

Séjour en pleine jungle!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful views and helpful, gracious hosts

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home overlooking the Carribean surrounded by rainforest greenery, birds, and wildlife. Lots to do and see in Talamanca and very relaxing just to enjoy the views (or listen to the rain) from the deck. Jeff and Sherry couldn't have been nicer, the place was well-equipped and lovely, and the Chocolate tour was fascinating. You do need 4wheel drive to make it up the steep driveway, but the views are worth it!

Car: recommended

The drive from the main road to The Mango Walk while a short distance does have some portions that are steep and rocky and require 4 wheel drive. For this reason, 4 wheel drive transportation is a must. One could certainly walk or bike, but this may prove challenging with luggage or at night. Local taxis are available but one may not always be able to secure a 4 wheel drive taxi.
