Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms with queen sofa bed for 2 additional guests

Realtors describe Ocean Park as having best location on the island. This condo faces the beach, and Fort Clinch State Park provides contrasting beauty just outside your front door. Both provide a peaceful, quiet atmosphere that enhances your ability to relax, unwind, and enjoy the comforts and conveniences of home . Walk to the beach, less than 800 ft away, have breakfast on the large private balcony taking in the ocean view, and listening to the sound of the surf. Large, open floor plan, (1425 square feet) unit includes living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms with baths. You also have a large capacity washer and dryer in your own private laundry room. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed with a TV, large master bath (walk-in shower with seat) and roomy walk-in closest. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed (TV and VCR) with adjacent bath (shower and bath tub). A queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room provides accommodation for two additional guests. Yes, we have WiFi and full internet service, cable TV (with DVD, and VCR) are located in living room entertainment center. There are books, board games, activity books (and VCR tapes for children), crossword puzzles, card games, also located in the entertainment center. There is a large balcony with wicker furniture, a café table and chairs for two, and your own roomy garage with remote control and keypad, and one additional parking space is provided for additional vehicle) There is a built in water conditioner. All the comforts of home and more..........

Linens, towels, beach towels, and an initial set up of paper towels, tissues, dishwasher detergent, etc. are provided. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards are in the locked 1 car garage for your use. There is extra space in the garage for your bicycle if you decide to bring it.

The pool and hot tub are there for your use from 9am to 10pm. There are two large gas grills behind the pool/hot tub area with large picnic benches for your use. Take a walk on the beach or through the woods at Fort Clinch State Park, bring a picnic lunch to the recreation park. Fernandina Beach is a rare jewel, somewhat off the beaten track since it is the northernmost point in the State of Florida. Ocean Park condominiums are close to the the historic downtown area with unique shops and great restaurants as well as the many activities listed as you browse this site. Come and gives us a try. It's a pleasant change from crowded beaches and exorbitant rental prices as you travel further South along the Atlantic Coast. A charming town with a friendly atmosphere - it seems very much unchanged since I first vacationed there twenty years ago. There are more and better restaurants and lovely shops, but the atmosphere is still warm and welcoming. The North end is still uncrowded and quieter than other areas of the island.

About Nancy McCoy-Cohen

Retired but still licensed Registered Nurse, former flight attendant. Fell in love with North Florida while opening the airplane door to a 75 degree day in Jacksonville in February. I said, 'I'm going to live here someday'. Now live in Tallahassee, but some day may get to live in the condo. Would like to see you enjoy it in the meantime.

Nancy McCoy-Cohen purchased this condo in 2014

Why Nancy McCoy-Cohen chose Florida North East

Fairly new and in excellent condition. Turn key with a very homey and comfortable feel. I didn't believe the interest rates would remain that low for long. The North end of Fernandina Beach has remained quiet and peaceful with much, much less construction than the Plantation area. Main Beach is a short walk or you may put your chairs and towels in your car and 90 seconds later park in the ample parking area in back of Main Beach. Or take a five minute walk - approximately 700-800 feet from the condo to the

beach.

It was the right time, the right place, and I felt it was now or never.

What makes this condo unique

Large private balcony with a café table and chairs, and also wicker chairs with a table between to enjoy a drink and the beautiful well-kept landscaping, pond with fountain and colored lights. If you are an early person, the sunrises are magnificent and you can watch the changing skies in comfort (still in your pj's if you wish). It is very quiet and peaceful.

There is also a water softener installed into the system so the quality of the drinking water is improved, laundry is softer and it is more comfortable for bathing and washing your hair.

Beach towels provided (in your private laundry room). Beach chairs, umbrellas, bogie boards for your use are located in the locked garage which comes with the condo. Bring you bicycle if you wish. Ocean Park Condominiums are surrounded by Fort Clinch which has beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas. There is as much (or little) as you want to do.

It's a great place if you enjoy riding your bicycle. The Historic District is less than two miles away, and some of my guests have used their bikes to go into town. You can rent bikes if you don't choose to bring them, rent horses to ride on the beach, play miniature golf, take a day trip to Cumberland Island and enjoy the unspoiled beauty and wild horses that run free on the island. There are other day trips on St. Mary's River. Look for Fernandina Beach.com and/or Amelia Island.com on the internet.

The Historic District is about two miles away and it is a straight drive from Atlantic

Avenue which becomes Centre Street on the other side of 14th St. Most of the restaurants are located in the charming Historic District with beautiful gas lights, and decorated with fairy lights. You will find that unique shops and restaurants abound. There are magnificent Victorian homes - some of which have been converted into Bed & Breakfasts.

It is a charming town with friendly, helpful residents who will make you feel welcome and at home.

Spacious Condo - Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

We have used Homeaway for many Florida getaways and this was the best value so far! Nancy, the owner, was great to work with and the condo was equipped with everything we needed for pool, beach, cooking or just relaxing. There was plenty of space and the inside is beautifully decorated and clean. First time we had a garage too! We loved the location! Easy walks to beach or pool and a short drive to the historic downtown. We also rented bikes for part of the week and enjoyed the bike friendly roads around town. It was our first time in the area and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time for not only writing the review, but also for being so detailed in your descriptions of why you felt my condo was extraordinary! There is an element of trust on both the part of the person renting and the owner, and you kindly addressed issues that are always in question, like the distance to the beach, how well the condo is equipped for long or short term rentals, the convenience of having a garage, the location of the property, and the cleanliness. The most important issue in dealing over the internet is to me, "Is what I see what I am getting?", Your validation is extremely helpful,. I sincerely appreciate your comments, and I hope you will return! Sincerely, Nancy

Perfect Florida Condo on Amelia Island

  • 5 of 5

Four women who met and bonded in college decided to explore Amelia Island for a week, enjoy the sun, sea, sand and shopping. The condo we rented surpassed our expectations! It was spacious, beautifully appointed, and beautifully located a short walk from the beach. The grounds of the condo property were nicely kept; the pool and hot tub were clean and inviting. I loved it that this was a totally smoke-free complex. The quaint and lovely shopping/restaurant area of Fernandina Beach was just a couple miles away, and we enjoyed discovering many good restaurants and stores. The town and the whole island feels very safe and friendly.

I would recommend this condo and this island without hesitation.

Wonderful condo on a great location

  • 5 of 5

The condo was a lot bigger than I imagined, perfect setup inside with everything you need for a comfortable vacation. The beach out front was pristine and uncrowned, very good location. The owner was very easy to communicate with and made herself available, I would recommend this place to anyone!

Excellent Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

The unit was perfect. Close to the beach, close to downtown, we couldn't ask for more. The unit was clean, fully equipped and quiet. Great pool, fantastic beach and a short drive to downtown is all we wanted for a great vacation. Bicycle rentals at Super Corsa Cycles was also a great experience.

Our experience at the Serene Beach Getaway was smooth from start to finish. The owner, Nancy, responded quickly to our initial inquiry and all of our subsequent interactions were very personable. The condo was perfect for our needs. It was larger than anticipated and the high ceilings made it feel even bigger. We enjoyed cooking in the well appointed kitchen, and the convenience of the washer/dryer. We walked to the beach in the evening but preferred to drive when bringing chairs and umbrellas. The drive was about 90 seconds and it was always easy to park. The family enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It was a nice surprise that the grills were gas grills. The drive to town took about 8-10 min., although it was only 2 miles-not because of traffic but lights/stop signs. We stayed midweek in the beginning of August and were pleased that the Ocean Park Condos were very quiet. There was always plenty of room at the pool and saw only a few families coming and going through out the day.

Desirable Northern end of Fernandina Beach near Fort Clinch. Close to Downtown Historic District, shops, restaurants, ferry to Cumberland Island (day trip - possibly overnight depending on the season). Amelia Island is the Northernmost point of Florida so it is delightfully 'off the beaten track'. Geared more toward families and older people who enjoy the peace, beauty, quiet and safe atmosphere. Still close to any of the above activities. For a rainy day, there are books, board games, cards, crossword puzzles, coloring books, DVD's and VHS tapes (mostly for children). Most of these are located in the entertainment center in the living room. WiFi and cable channels and 2 televisions (living room and master bedroom.. 2nd bedroom has monitor and DVD player. Master bedroom has DVD player as well.

Built in water softener/filter with tap to the left of the kitchen sink improve the taste of the water, and softens water for bathing and laundering clothes. Bench and side table to the right of front door is a nice area

to catch the afternoon sun and have a drink and snack.
