About Joyce Klees
I fell in love with the north shore when I moved here in my twenties. The landscape, definitely harsh at times, with it's seasonal drama and beauty continues to grip me and hold me in awe. I love to travel, but I continue to call this place home. Presently my work is as an RN at the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic in Grand Marais. Hopefully you will not need to visit here, but if you do you will realize why we feel so lucky to have this Community Health Clinic as our health care facility. I am also known for my landscape work and ceramic art. A work of note is the Angry Trout Bathroom. Enjoy a yummy meal and then take a side trip to the bathroom to check out my work. I also have an adventurous side and have put in many miles on the trails and waterways of this area as well as elsewhere.
Joyce Klees purchased this House in 2012
Why Joyce Klees chose Grand Marais
A beautiful house with a stunning interior: richly painted walls and lot's of art , property that is centrally located and accessible. This is a winner! I instantly felt at home here and I hope you will too.
What makes this House unique
Aesthetically pleasing with it's rich colors, high ceilings, many windows, and modern clean design. The kitchen offers an enjoyable cooking space and the open floor plan makes entertaining easy. The claw foot bathtub is a place to relax and soak. This house with it's many windows and views offers a range of places to sit and read.

We stayed here for the third summer in a row!!! We absolutely love everything about this charming and comfortable home. All of the windows and the beautiful kitchen are a treat each time! Our 4 year old cried when it was time to leave and said " but mama I love it here."😍
Joyce thank you and we will be back!!!
Lesley, I love it! One of these times you are going to move in for good : ), especially if your 4 year old has his way! Thank you!!
Perfect long weekend getaway for a family with young adults!
The cabin was lovely, clean, and well equipped. Everyone had a place to go tomorrow their own space, if they needed it. Two 50-something adults, and 2 sons in their early 20s. Beautiful kitchen, and a drawer full of phone charger cords! We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, enjoyed the cozy movie loft, and explored Grand Marais. As we were packing up, I mentioned to my husband that I could really handle a week here, but wasn't sure that the "boyz" would feel the same. The "Boyz" immediately responded, "YES, we would!" Enough said....
I love that you enjoyed the space and that all want to come back for a longer stay!! Please do : )
Wonderfully kept property, very comfortable
Would recommend the property to others. Conveniently located close to the lake and Grand Marais.
Thanks Scott! I appreciate your review and am glad the my place worked well for your vacation to the North Shore.
We had a wonderful time!
The location is just the right distance from Grand Marais. Very peaceful and quiet. The house is very attractive, well furnished, and sunny.
So glad that my place worked well for you!
Property as described. Owner easy to communicate with. Fantastic location to visit state parks for hiking and visiting waterfalls. Great dinners in Grand Marais and nice quiet evenings back at the home.
Don, so glad you and your family had a great stay and that my house worked so well as a base place between all your adventures!
This is a great place. It is one of the cleanest I have stayed in. Very private. Great deck. We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a problem with one of the utilities while we stayed and the owner came out right away to check on it and then had it fixed as soon as she could. We certainly understand that things can happen. It is all in how you handle the situation and she handled it very well and was accommodating. Thanks for a great stay!
So glad you enjoyed your stay and that you had a great vacation. I so appreciated how you and your family adapted to the inconvenience and kept on with your plans. Thanks again for being flexible!
