Fantastic family cottage

  • 5 of 5

We rented this wonderful cottage for two weeks this summer. My husband and I and the 4 teenagers who came with us had the best time at this beautiful, historic cottage on Lake Rosseau. There was plenty of room for all of us. The teenagers took over the upstairs and we enjoyed the main floor bedroom and ensuite. We spent many hours relaxing on the huge verandah, enjoying that great view. The kids loved the kayaks and canoe that came with the cottage and swimming every day in the lake. They also appreciated the Wi-Fi access and big screen TV. We enjoyed spending our evenings in the large modern kitchen, with a glass of wine while preparing dinner and playing board games after dinner on the big pine table. The town of Rosseau was close by where we enjoyed the farmer's market and a fabulous dinner at Crossroads. The pictures on the web-site do not do this property justice. It is very clean and well-appointed. We have rented many cottages over the years and this was one of the best. We would highly recommend this property.

Amazing property with incredible vistas, we didn't want to leave!

  • 5 of 5

The listing and photos do not do this property justice. The sense of the family ties through the generations made our stay real, reminded me of growing up at our cottage as a young lad. And now my daughter (7) had the same experience. When asked, what was your favourite part of our cottage vacation at Rosseau, she emphatically stated 'All of it'!

Evenings on the porch, lunch on the dock, swimming to the lighthouse (farther than it looks, and we recommend a paddler accompany you for visibility!), our daughter learning to kayak, the lovely family kitchen, all of it was just wonderful. Clean, sorted with the things we needed - as advertised. several good hikes around and watersports were wonderful. Great cycling - although highway 632 isn't for the faint of heart!

We highly recommend this spot, we will be going back. And the owners were wonderful to deal with.

Splendid week at 3 ducks cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was really lovely and the family all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the experience of being on this delightful Muskoka lake. The owner was extremely helpful and the information booklet provided all necessary information to make our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. TV reception was perfect and allowed the English contingent in the group to discover the joys of Blue Jays baseball. The elderly couple with mobility problems thoroughly appreciated the first floor bedroom and especially the ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was remarkably spacious and provided a place for the whole family to enjoy many a good meal and more than the odd glass of wine. All the bedrooms were roomy and airy. Facilities were splendid. Swimming, especially from the new dock, out to the floating platform provided ample opportunity for much needed exercise. Use of the 2 kayaks was much appreciated. Parking was great for 3 cars. Excellent small shops were close by in the village of Rosseau, while the Crossroads restaurant provided superb evening meals. In summary: Thanks Chuck for providing us with a perfect setting for a family reunion.

Muskoka Magic

  • 5 of 5

If you want to experience the magic of old Muskoka then this is the place for you! We found the cottage beautifully clean, well-mantained, well-supplied, and full of intriguing antique furniture, books that hearkened back to our childhoods, a front porch to entice us to sit and read all day, yet with modern bathrooms, well-furnished kitchen, and excellent WiFi. The bedrooms are large and airy and we all managed well despite the lack of an upstairs bathroom. The living room even has a piano! Our young grandchildren enjoyed the sandy beach and shallow entry, while their father loved the wide expanse for windsurfing and we grandparents enjoyed paddling the canoe which was available as were two adult kayaks and two children's kayaks. We found it an easy walk or paddle to Rosseau village and a pleasant drive to all the villages and towns in the district. The Friday Rosseau market is not to be missed. Rosseau General Store has everything you need! The property is very private, but easily accessible. Since we were there at the height of mosquito/black fly season, the screened porch was very welcome. The owner obviously loves the property and looks after it well and added little touches to make us feel at home. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.
