About Randy & Crystal Cooper

Crystal is Retired Accountant and Randy is Retired Engineer but still work every day. Crystal owns a mini storage business and Randy plays in a band and deals in vintage guitars. We live in Jackson in West Tennessee former homes of Rockabilly star Carl Perkins and Railroad Engineer Casey Jones.

Randy & Crystal Cooper purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Randy & Crystal Cooper chose Sevierville

We bought this cabin because eventually we plan to move in permanently. Plenty of room with all amenities on the first floor sold us. Also the fact that it is a easy drive without steep winding inclines.

What makes this cabin unique

We really got hooked on the big screen theater. We rarely went to movie theaters through the years so we have lots of catching up to do. Over 100 DVD's are available but feel free to bring your own or visit a nearby Redbox.

Great Property!

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends come down to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge every MLK weekend for the past 6 years (and I've personally been about 15 times). I'm a person that reads reviews and uses them to inform my decision, so let me jump right in.

(1) The location -- if you're looking for a cabin on a mountainside, this is not your one. It's actually on a flat clearing with woods on two sides. With that said, it's definitely the easiest to get in and out of. Even if the weather got a little scratchy, you wouldn't get stuck here. It's about 5-7 minutes down Wears Valley Rd from the main drag. Close to grocery, shopping, putt putt. If you have a dog (we do) you couldn't ask for a better yard situation (trust me, I've stayed in some good cabins but the doggie situation was terrible).

(2) The cabin-- it's not huge, but it feels big b/c there is a lot of space. 3 master suites, 2 with big jetted tubs. The beds are really comfortable. There are also 3 couches, so this can sleep a lot of people One bedroom has a fireplace. I will say that the walls seem thin noise-wise. You could hear TVs or toilet flushes, so if you're a very sensitive noise person, you might have issues. Personally, I loved the layout and the rooms were all great size. Everything was deceptively roomy. Big kitchen table. Big couches. Bigger than normal bathrooms. The movie room was the best part -- it's as good as you think it will be. We watched a bunch of movies in that room and it was great. We had no internet problems (checked email and played on my phone) with no problems. The cell phone reception wasn't amazing (not that cabin's fault). If you're going in the summer there is a great back patio we didn't get to enjoy in January, but it looked fantastic and would be fun in more seasonal weather. Hot tub worked great. No issues.

(3) The Renters -- responded quickly. Sent email with info/directions/instructions. I texted them about a weather issue, they were great. No issues with them at all.

(4) Overall -- I plan to stay here again (and I'm a chronic cabin shopper every year). I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. There might be things that are not your specific preference, but it was comfy, clean, great location, everything promised worked, easy renters.

Clean, comfortable cabin in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very accommodating in allowing us to bring our dogs. Also, one of my family members who visited with us has difficulty with stairs. All bedrooms were on the ground floor and there was a ramp to the front door so they were able to access everything comfortably. We had a great stay, everything was clean, the beds were cozy, and the location was slightly of the main road where the house was quiet but it didn't take long to get to the attractions.

Awesome place

  • 5 of 5

This was our groups third year meeting at the Smoky Bear Cinema. Each time we have found it to be very comfortable especially having three bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots, pans and all necessary cooking items. There were a few people in our group who had mobility issues and having the ramp as access to the cabin was very helpful. Also, the cabin is handicap friendly since all rooms are on one floor. The deck on the back of the cabin was just great to sit and enjoy conversation with each other. While we were there, Randy the owner, put up and decorated a Christmas tree for the holidays. What a nice touch!!! Thanks Randy. If all goes well, you might see us again next year! Happy Holidays! Great location, beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

Close enough to Pigeon Forge but still a nice scenic drive. It was good having a place not hanging off a mountain. I enjoyed the private hot tub and the large deck out back with the log furniture. Been a while since I played fooseball but it all came back to me. Coming back next year with my parents. The three bedrooms and three baths will work perfect.
