Why Kenny Smith chose Northwest

Our home is in an amazing, rural and private setting, yet is only a 8 minute drive to the restaurants and conveniences of Basalt. Aspen is a 40 minute drive. There too many activities to list within 30 minutes of the house, and the views are just spectacular.

What makes this house unique

Our property manager could be available for cooking and/or cleaning, for a small fee. Flyfishing gear (rods, reels, waders, etc) are available to use at no charge (subject to security deposit), and fishing advice is always free :)

We stayed the week of June 24 and loved every minute of it. This beautiful house provided the perfect base for our daily adventures. This house was fully stocked with everything you need for a week away. Kenny was easily accessible for numerous hiking and fly fishing tips.

Awesome home.

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful and very well maintained. While there was other homes around it, it felt as though you were isolated. The owner made sure we were happy and if we needed anything. Definitely will stay here again in the future. The master bedroom view is breathtaking.

Fantastic!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this home was perfect for our stay. Kenny was a pleasure to work with as well as an incredible resource for local information. The setting is lovely; we spent mornings on the deck off the master bedroom and evenings on the deck off the kitchen living room area. We cooked each night during our stay and found the kitchen to be as well stocked as ours at home. We were so comfortable in Kenny’s home we considering staying home all day! Luckily we decided to explore and that was a good choice as the spectacular beauty in every direction we went was not to be missed. We live in a large east coast city and it was refreshing to drive and enjoy the spectacular scenery around every bend in the roads. One of our favorite signs we saw said no gas stations for 60 miles! I think the best thing we can say about this experience is we are already looking at our calendar to determine when we can rent Kenny’s home again!

Awesome everything!! We came for the Frying Pan, Rainbows and Browns and got much much more!

  • 5 of 5

Spectacularly sited, gorgeous three bedroom house. MBR looks out to an enormous range. We had a full moon during our stay, hated to go to bed, the views were so stunning! Mule deer graced the front lawn each evening. BigHorn sheep grazed between MM 1-2, wild turkeys spotted between MM 1-9. We even saw bald eagles cruising the length of the Frying Pan. Kitchen was fully stocked with all manner of cooking utensils, laundry room perfect! Wrap around decks made watching the sunrise and sunset so comfortable. 4WD vehicle essential for getting up the road and driveway during the winter months. Fishing was phenomenal.....26", fat rainbows and feisty browns. Our 17 year old was in heaven. Kenny is fantastic, responsive and full of fly fishing, skiing, hiking secrets. Our six nights were so memorable, we hated to leave! Now we just can't wait to come back!!

The home is located in a beautiful setting in the Frying Pan River Valley. The Frying Pan River flows into the town of Basalt, which is about halfway between Glenwood Springs and Aspen. The valley is home to several species of wildlife, and is known world-wide for exceptional fly-fishing.

It is important to know that renting my home in the winter months requires a 4wd vehicle, as the road to the home is usually snow-packed.
