Be a Keeper at the Pt. Robinson Light Station on Vashon Island
Why Eric Wyatt chose Vashon Island
Vashon Park District's Point Robinson Park is a 10 acre shoreline park and historical and marine conservancy. It is located on the east shore of Maury Island, off Point Robinson Road overlooking East Passage. The site has provided fog and lighthouse service for vessels since 1885. The lighthouse has been fully automated since 1978. *Vashon Park District owns the upland part of the park; the remainder is on long term lease from the Coast Guard. The property conserves an extensive sandy beach shoreline that wraps around the point, a saltwater marsh, and upland woodlands. Walking trails and a few picnic tables have been developed along the scenic shoreline providing dramatic views of East Passage, Tacoma, and Mount Rainier, and through the upper wooded slopes. Pt. Robinson Stewards have fully restored the two Keepers' Quarters on the property for use as rentals. All proceeds from these rentals goes back into the park's restoration and maintenance.
What makes this House unique
Point Robinson - what a special gift this property is to the people of Vashon. There are not a lot of places in the world where you can witness whales breaching an arm's length away and giant ships steaming by in the night, or watch Great Blue Herons fish in front of a lighthouse. So, on behalf of our Island and the Vashon Park District, welcome to Point Robinson Lighthouse. You're going to love it.

A perfect spot
Love the setting and the spectacular view of Mt. Rainier. Enjoyed the cozy warmth of the quarters and the kindness of the staff. Thanks for making it a memorable Thanksgiving.
We stayed two nights and were treated to orcas outside the sitting room window. It was amazing! In the morning, we saw two orcas — one breached. And the entire pod returned in the afternoon. The home itself was cozy and comfortable. It felt like being back in time. Bring books, games, and puzzles and enjoy some quiet time. We also enjoyed shopping in downtown Vashon, which was about 15 minutes away. This is a wonderful, unique getaway!
Fantastic location! Fabulous views! Wonderful old houses.! Thoughtful, fun furnishings! I can’t wait to sign up again!
It was special and unique to stay ar the lighthouse. The venue was restored to the original theming, and that was wonderfully done. And views were great, too!
This was 8th year our family has stayed in Lighthouse House. Really like improvements made - new stove, bathroom improvements and several new appliances to use. Also exceptionally clean upon arrival. We will be back in 2020!!!
Beautiful and Peaceful
We loved being at the Lighthouse quarters. The freighters and other boats going by were wonderful to watch. The sunrises and views of Mt. Rainier were amazing. 49 years ago the Coast Guard stationed us there as a lighthouse keeper. This past week we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by going back to the place we had enjoyed so much in those early days of our marriage. We will be back.
