The region

We have another house in Lucca another beautiful Tuscan city you can organize trips combined for a tour of Tuscany.

The roots of all are in Tuscany - from large to small things. In Piero della Francesca's fresco is the spirit of a region that has spent most of his money to beauty and quality. The perfection of the Tuscan culture can be found in a bowl of Ribollita soup , made with cabbage and served with seasonal oil d ' olive oil freshly squeezed , or tasted in a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino Riserva ; but it can also be found in one of the many free delights of the region , its landscape painting , its thermal water reservoirs , or some of its beaches still poorly understood.

These things are not present in the rest of Italy, but Tuscany has a unique concentration of them. It also combines fierce pride and attention to detail , such as the protection of the territory, complex and irritating but also simple and basic to conservation of the region.

Tuscany is a collection of cities, Siena, Arezzo , Pisa, Lucca , Cortona , each outstanding for its harmony and beauty. Then there are villages, villas, countryhouse, farmhouse, cottage that tell a ancient rural life. This great man's work is identified with the epic landscape.

The area

Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and this is seen looking around everywhere, while you walk in the historic center. Great artists were born and worked here, Giotto, Brunelleschi, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo. The genes of the Renaissance were here at home and have left their mark exceptional. Frescoes by Giotto, the dome and the Palaces of Brunelleschi, the David and other sculptures by Michelangelo, the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli.

When you arrive in Florence there's so much exquisite art and architecture, it's difficult to know where to start.

But Florence is a vibrant city, full of fantastic restaurants and a lively nightlife and a vivacious cultural movement that goes beyond the old masters to embrace opera, classical music and contemporary art. Beautiful, historic, full of sophisticated shops and quality craftsmanship, and close to the vine hills of the Chianti region, Florence is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Europe.

The district

Oltrarno is the neighborhood on the other side of the river, the Florence of Florence. In it survive artisans who seek to preserve their ancestral experience. This area is still alive and handed down traditions, this you can comprises walking for its small medieval streets. It 'a piece of old Florence which survives.

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is great. It is perfect for friends and families who want to travel together but also have their privacy. The location is perfect, in the very city center and actually a few steps from Ponte Vecchio. As soon as you leave the apartment, you can see the Palace Pitti that's amazing. Apartment is an historic building, so you can enjoy the real soul of Florence. The wifi work perfectly and you have all the facilities you may need. Check-in is super easy and the host gave us a lot of information about the city. So 100% recommended.

Great location. Unique apartment

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying here. The stairs are dark and there is no elevator. Lavina greeted us warmly and had the apartment very clean. It is very spacious. My family of five was very comfortable. There is a great little plaza nearby to enjoy at night.

Beautiful antique look in incredible location

  • 5 of 5

The apartment couldn't be better placed for seeing the sights of Florence. The Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio were a minute away and you could reach many others sights in less than 5. The apartment itself was absolutely lovely. Every room had a beautiful antique look to it with no detail overlooked. We loved the extra space of the kitchen and we had ate breakfast at the apartment every day. There was a convenient pastry shop within a few minutes walk from the apartment. Also many wonderful Tattoria and Osteries within a five to ten minute walk. The host met us at the apartment and was very kind as he covered off all the details of what the apartment and area had to offer. I would highly recommend this beautiful apartment in Florence.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is close proximity to, Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi and Palace Pitti. It is in a lovely, typical old Italian style building. Interior is comfortable, homely and maintains the same ancient structures. Host made us feel more than welcome from the onset of our stay to the end. She answered all of our questions promptly and told us about many great places to eat and visit during our stay. I am happy to recommend this as a place to stay.

Wonderful and close to everything

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is really close to everything, we wanted to see the town center and the attractions were only minutes of walk. Palace Pitti and Boboli Garden literally 1 minute! The oltrarno area is just fantastic non-touristy and authentic Italian local food!. You can also cook and eat at the apartment as there is a supermarket "Conad" just at 5 minutes!.

Host was very easy to communicate with. He met us at the apartment promptly at the time we arranged and was helpful in answering some questions about the city.

Great experience. Thank you!
