This home offers a perfect location for a vacation in Victoria.

With outstanding views of Juan de Fuca Strait, and the Olympic Mountain range, and still within biking distance of Downtown, this home allows for the best experience....the calm of being located in quiet Ross Bay, yet close enough to the vibrancy of downtown Victoria.

Located across the street from Ross Bay, watch the ships and planes go by from the public benches in front of the house. Sip your coffee on the beach, or take an early morning jog or walk on the promenade along the beach. You may even spot seals or otters along the way.

There is great cycling in the area too. Ride your bike along the coastline, all the way to downtown (about 3 miles away). Dallas Road walkway and bike path (which begin at your door step), are the favorite for most, for its scenic appeal.

Once in downtown, and the Inner Harbor causeway area, you will experience street performers, carriage rides, the Empress Hotel, the Legislative Buildings, the Royal BC Museum, Undersea Gardens, and a plethora of activity providers who can take you whale watching, harbor cruising, fishing charters, sea kayaking, and scuba diving.

Later in the day, return to your home, and enjoy the views from inside, or sit on the beach, listening to the waves, as the sun sets over the ocean.

With unparalleled mountain and ocean views, and the appeal of downtown shops and restaurants just minutes away, this home features the best of practical sense and style. It is a warm and restful retreat offering guests proximity to town with the charm and privacy of a quiet neighborhood location.

About Tashi and Mickey

We are a couple, rooted in both Canada and the U.S., winding down in our professional careers, but enjoy being hosts to guests from all over the world. Having travelled extensively ourselves, we have tried to create a space that we ourselves would want, as we travel.

One or both of us will welcome you with a tour and can help you plan on what to see and do in Victoria. Ofcourse, we will respect your privacy, but remain available for any questions you may have.

Why Tashi and Mickey chose Fairfield

We bought this property for the spectacular vistas that surround it. The 'walkability' factor to all the essential amenities, was of great appeal as well.....grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, public transportation, etc, are at a 5-minute walking distance from this home.

Major transportation links to Vancouver, and the U.S., are within a 3-mile distance. These include the following:

-The Coho ferry to Port Angeles (allows transportation of vehicles on board).

- The Clipper passenger ferry to Seattle.

- Float plane service to Seattle and Vancouver (Kenmore Air, Horizon Air, West Coast Air, Harbour Air)

*Note that all three options above are within 3 miles of our home.

Additionally, Victoria International airport and the ferries port at Swartz Bay to Vancouver and to the Gulf Islands in the U.S., are only a 25 minutes' drive away.

There is off street parking available, and there is a bus stop near by.

As a result of all the above connectivity options, this home has great appeal. You would not need to rent a car for a major portion of your stay...we can help you plan your stay so as to minimize your overall transportation costs...so do not hesitate to ask!

We have very much enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. Victoria is a lovely city. We have particularly enjoyed neighbourhood walks, admiring the beautiful gardens. Tashi is a wonderful, gracious and helpful hostess whom we have quickly come to admire.

Perfect Location

This is the perfect rental in the perfect location. The apartment is a great size, has beautiful views and makes you feel at home. Tashi and Mickey were both very helpful before and during our stay making it an enjoyable experience. The rental itself does not have a living room however the master bedroom is well equipped with a comfy bed, fireplace and couches. You can walk directly across the street and down to the beach which my toddler loved. I highly recommend this rental!

A True Delight from Start to Finish

What do you want in a vacation rental: a great location? a beautiful view? a handsome, spacious, ground-floor suite? A good night's sleep? This property has all that and more. We can't imagine a better location than the middle of Victoria's south coast. You look south at the strait and the Olympics. You walk west toward town along parks and beaches. You walk east toward Oak Harbor past charming bays and scenic overlooks. Three blocks north, a shopping mall offers a good grocery and multiple choices for take-out. There is a private parking space right by the front door. The suite itself manages to be both comfortable and efficient, with little touches one can't always expect: a desk-like shelf in one bedroom; a smart TV with a huge channel selection in the other; and three closets, and warm lighting, and Mickey's stunning landscape photographs on the walls. Tashi was the perfect host, from her first reply on VRBO to her quick return of our deposit. She gave us a lovely welcome and many helpful recommendations, yet never intruded on our space or time. OK, now for the downside. You won't want to leave.

Great Victoria neighborhood waterfront location for one or two couples!

We had the lower section of the home that included a dining area, well equipped kitchen, two big bedrooms, and full bath. Great location only a few minutes drive from waterfront Victoria, view of the water and mountains from the master bedroom (that also has a gas log fireplace). Well furnished, higher end linens, outdoor patio area was nice and well landscaped. Owner was great to work with - highly recommended!

Nice place to stay in Victoria

We were in Victoria and stayed in this property the last week of April. We were here for a week, and really enjoyed our stay. The property is a ground floor "apartment" located directly across the street from the walking trail that runs along Dallas Crescent and into the Inner Harbor, so is very convenient for morning or evening walks along the ocean. It is also away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet easy to access town and any other activities. A nice small shopping center is a nice 3 block walk up St. Charles and has a nice grocery store, liquor store and pub, which is really convenient. The views out of the bedroom window is great, with many ships passing and the Olympics across to the south. We put the small table in front of the window and ate there, so that we could watch the ships passing. The washer and dryer worked well, and were really convenient since we were on a month long trip. We would most definitely stay here again.
