Year Purchased: 1983
About the owner: Doreen and I are both native Annapolitans, growing up sailing, fishing, and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD. Married for 37 years, Doreen graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. Doreen, while juggling the schedules of our three active daughters, completed a successful career as a Registered Nurse. I was a career Naval Aviator, piloting the P-3 Orion patrol aircraft. While serving at Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME, we fell in love with the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region and in 1983 purchased an old camp on the west shore of Rangeley Lake in Oquossoc. In 2006, at the age of 50, we fulfilled our dream and retired to the lake. I am a Registered Maine Guide (hunting, fishing, recreational), the Vice President of the Rangeley Region Guides and Sportsman’s Association, and a Director on the Rangeley Lakes Region Historical Society. We are active parishioners of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Parish, where Doreen volunteers as a Eucharistic Minister.
Why the Owner Chose Rangeley, ME, USA:
