This home is located on a quiet street in the quaint village of Fleischmanns, centrally located in the Catskills, with proximity to all attractions, 5 miles east of Margaretville, and 1.5 miles west of Bellayre resort, 2.5 hours from NYC. The house is well-situated on a large lot, with a large front lawn, back deck and huge, wrap-around porch. Easy off street parking. First story has one bedroom with twin beds, central dining area, two living areas, one with fireplace. Also there is a large kitchen with country charm featuring a tile floor, modern SS appliances including dishwasher and over the counter micro. and granite countertops. There is a full tiled bath which is old fashioned in style with subway tile. The house featuresnewly refinished hardwood floors which are in pristine condition and original chestnut moldings and hardware. The second floor has three separate bedrooms, with two of the bedrooms connecting to a central closethalf and two balconies. There is a second full bath, also old fashioned in style with a vintage claw foot tub. This house is thoroughly cleaned before and after each visit with a Miele Vaccuum cleaner and a LadyBug steam cleaner. Fresh clean linens are on each bed.

Year Purchased: 1998

About the owner: A transplanted New York and former clinical psychologist, I started coming to the Catskills about 20 years ago. I retired in 2001 to move here full-time. I spent much of my time, when not snowmobiling, skiing or enjoying the great outdoors, working on and maintaining several properties which I acquired in the area over the years. Many of these houses were in poor condition and required a lot of hard work. Through this experience and over the years I have acquired the ability to personally renovate and fix virtually anything required, although I often leave the heavy lifting to some of the guys. some of the projects I have personally completed include installation of a metal barn roof, installation of gas and plumbing lines, electrical retiring, restoration, refinishing and installation of wood moldings, trim and doors, tiling bathrooms and kitchens, cabinet installation, exterior and interior painting, which entails professional grade methods. And I could go on and 5-7 years ago I was ready to apply these skills to the house you see listed here. It had been quite neglected over the past 50 years or so. Wherever possible, I tried to maintain the original essence of this house, while upgrading to modern convenience when necessary. For example, I maintained the original windows, yes they are drafty, and spent much time meticulously restoring and installing original hardware. I think here you can get an idea of me. I am an honest, trustworthy, hard-working independent soul. I want to share this house because I know how special it is. My current circumstances take me to other parts of the Northeast, and I hate to see it empty and unused.
