PANEVINO - In the Heart of the Historical Center, Very Quiet, Top Comfort. 2-4 Guests

Located in a very central area - beautiful Piazza San Francesco, only 4-5 minutes walk to the very heart of Bologna, Piazza Maggiore - extremely cozy, quiet and comfortable, PANEVINO is the ideal choice for a couple or a small family visiting Bologna. A typical Bolognese neighborhood, the area is vibrant with plenty of things to see and do. At PANEVINO you are at the center of it all - monuments, shows and events, festivals, theatres, museums, shopping, bars, restaurants, pizzerias... Lively Via del Pratello and its typical hangouts - 'osterias' - is only 50 mts., whereas the train station is walking distance. The bus stop to all major spots in Bologna and the taxi station are 70 mts., all kind of stores, shops, supermarkets and a great, big traditional Italian food and deli market are right across the square. Do not miss the ice cream parlor at the corner, definitely a top in Bologna! Have a toast at the great wine shop downstairs! All in all - you would not be able to find a more convenient location than PANEVINO to explore the Italian capital of gourmet food, culture and nightlife - Bologna.

The apartment is way beyond expectations. A second floor (with elevator) of a very elegant, well-kept building, it was thoroughly refurbished in 2014 and furnished mostly with early-1900's antiques. Gifted with a special charming, welcoming atmosphere, PANEVINO is extremely clean, light-and-bright, quiet, private and fully equipped. Its layout includes a tiny stairway-like hallway, a dining/living room with a table and a firm, brand new double sofabed, a low-ceiling, carpeted and cushioned tea room ('Tuareg Tent'), a very well stocked kitchen, an impeccably maintained bathroom with a shower and a beautiful, quiet, comfortable double bedroom with timber ceiling and a view over an inner courtyard and a well. PANEVINO is air conditioned and features a 24/24 free wifi internet connection together with all the major state-of-the-art appliances.

Unbeatable for its quality-price ratio, PANEVINO is the ideal choice among all centrally-located apartments in Bologna. We look forward to your visit soon!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This apartment was an excellent place for us to stay during our visit to Bologna. The location was perfect for access to the historic center of town as well as shopping opportunities. The building was exactly the place we expected. The rooms were made up exactly as we had requested. Elisa, our greeter and also the apartment owner, welcomed us warmly and cordially; she took great effort to acquaint us with our surroundings from show us how to operate the appliances in the apartment to telling us about neighborhood including nearby restaurants. This was our first time renting an apartment instead of hotel room, and we were a bit apprehensive about how it would all work out. But after the warm greeting we had from Elisa, the anxieties melted away. We really couldn't have asked for better. There is a bakery almost next door to the apartment building, and when they bake overnight the wonderful smell drift up and into the apartment. This encourages you to get up early and go first thing to get some delicious pastries! Also conveniently located is a good gelateria just a few steps past the piazza. There are a couple of good restaurants we found within easy walking distance. We would definitely recommend this to others and hope to return ourselves some day.

Great, in the center

  • 5 of 5

Truly an excellent, spacious, characterful apartment in a fabulous location next door to Piazza Maggiore and easy walking reach of everywhere you can think of to visit in the city. Also great traditional food market very close by. Elisa is a very warm, charming and welcoming owner and has lots of great and useful information to impart. The apartment had everything we could possibly want or need; it's an oasis in the heart of a busy and beautiful city. Very safe, very clean and actually just brilliant. Train station and great restaurants, gelateria, shops nearby. Will be returning and highly recommend.

Excellent accommodation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights and found it was quiet yet right in the hub of things. it was extremely clean and the pictures were accurate. Compared to the prices of other nearby apartments this was a real bargain. There was a nice cafe next door and one also downstairs. It was very cold when we stayed but the efficient heating system made us stay comfortable. We were only a few blocks from the Piazza and very close to Mercato delle Erbe. The owner was very kind and let us check in a bit early. It is also very easy to get to and from the rail station. There is a bus one block away which takes about 5 minutes to arrive at the station. We would definitely stay again.

Home Away from Home

PaneVino was the perfect apartment for the two of us staying for a month in Bologna. We especially loved the central location, as we walked and explored this unique city almost every day. We shopped as locals at the grocery stores, both large and small nearby. The fully equipped kitchen was just what we needed as we attempted many Bolognese recipes we were learning. San Francesco and its Piazza are a real treasure for those who stay here. This is a neighborhood that welcomes and delights. Piazza Maggiore is about a 15 minute walk away. "Bologna Welcome" is located there and is a fantastic source for information and for scheduling all kinds of tours in and out of the city. The Bologna Train Station is also an easy walk from the apartment. We traveled by train several times to visit cities outside of Bologna.

Thank you, Elisa, for your kind suggestions and help whenever we needed them. We hope to return to wonderful PaneVino and Bologna in the near future.

Nice place to stay

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was a good place to stay in a very convenient location (with a gelato shop two doors over). The building which houses the apartment is unique and interesting to walk through. Elisa was accommodating and allowed us to check in a few hours early which was very appreciated.

A Find

  • 4 of 5

I lived in Bologna for a few years but wasn't familiar with Piazza San Francesco. The Piazza is beautiful and humane, a place where kids come to play, parents to hang out, teens to do whatever teens do. I spent a couple of afternoons just sitting on a bench there enjoying the life -- it's quiet, too, as are many parts of Bologna because of the pedestrian only zones. It's a ten minute walk to the center, Piazza Maggiore. From San Francesco it's easy to get on foot anywhere in the centro storico. The apartment is ideal for one, easy for two, and there's a kind of Hobbit's loft that a young child would bond with (and where he or she could sleep). It has a firm bed, gas stove-top, oven, clean and good shower/bathroom with shampoo and body gel provided. There's satellite TV but no DVD player or radio/music dock. Elisa is a good host and gives useful tips on places to shop, eat, find taxis, etc. I intend to go back.
