Your home comfortably sleeps 8 people.

Offering 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a loft sitting room / sleeping area for 2. Two bedrooms have queen size Beds and the third bedroom and sleeping loft; each have two twin beds

Windsong also features an eat-in kitchen and dining room, as well as a spacious great room with cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace. With water views from most rooms, your home creates the perfect environment to enjoy the natural beauty of the woods, water, sunsets and stars

Location. Location. Location.

Windsong is located at the north end of Sister Bay, 1 mile off Highway 42 on desirable Beach Road. Beach Road is a favorite for leisurely morning walks and for those who love to jog, bike and bird-watch.

Nestled among towering cedar trees, on 100 feet of prime Green Bay shorefront, Windsong is ideal for those who love to swim, boat, and enjoy spectacular sunsets over seemingly endless water! You’ll sleep great listening to the gentle splash of waves on the shore. Your home is near the base of a bluff and only140’ from the water, providing interesting views in front and behind your home.

And if you enjoy walking or biking you are only 2.5 miles from downtown Sister Bay. Plus, your home’s convenient location minimizes travel times to recreation, shopping, dining, the sights of Door County, as well as the many other small towns

Windsong can accommodate a family of eight, two families of four, or for 2 – 3 couples who vacation together

Your home’s design enables flexible living / sleeping arrangements for children and adults, or early risers and late nighters. This flexibility is because of the sound deadening effectiveness of the foyer, conveniently placed exterior doors, and stairways at both ends of Windsong.

A 6’ x 20’ foyer nicely separates Windsong into a north wing and south wing…

In the south wing of your home there is the first floor master bedroom, the great room, and a stairway to a second floor bedroom, as well as access, for all rooms, to the first floor bathroom which is off of the foyer.

In the north wing there is the kitchen, dining room, pantry, and a stairway to a second floor bedroom, sitting room / sleeping loft, and a shared second floor bathroom. The second floor bathroom is accessed through the bedroom. Again, all rooms can use the first floor bathroom which is accessed from the foyer.

Here is why we have enjoyed the flexible layout: when we have two families, for example, the adults stay in the south wing and the children stay in the north wing. When grandparents visit, our family sleeps in the south wing and the grandparents stay in the north wing.

Windsong is part of the Northern Lights Property

The Northern Lights Property is 100’ wide by 800+ feet long and faces west; it begins on Beach Road and goes all the way to the water. Northern Lights consists of three vacation residences. Beginning at Beach Road, and “only 20 feet” from Beach Road, is the Carefree Guest Studio. The Guest Studio is where the owners will vacation for the next few years.

Midway down the bluff the lot levels off somewhat for about 100 feet; then the lot drops down to the rear of Windsong, where it levels again – then gradually slopes about 140’ feet to the shore. “Right” at the water, on the northwest property line, is our one bedroom Summer Joy Beach Cottage (vrbo listing 482130). Windsong is about 125 feet away from the corner of Summer Joy. You’ll see in the pictures that Windsong is about 6 feet higher than Summer Joy.

Inspiration for the name Northern Lights was the result of viewing the aurora borealis from our dock in the 1990’s. We have owned Northern Lights since 1988, renting Summer Joy for the first time in 2013 and Windsong for the first time in 2014. Eventually the Carefree Guest Studio will be available to rent during all seasons.

Beautiful log house with all the charm of a Door County home with modern amenities.

  • 5 of 5

This log home allowed our family to come together to make many wonderful memories. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! We had plenty of yard space to enjoy, along with a beautiful beach area where we gathered to watch the sunsets and campfires. The boys enjoyed fishing off the dock. The house is strategically set up to allow a "quiet side" with two bedrooms and a living room, where babies could go to sleep early or teenagers could sleep in late without being disturbed. The other side of the house contained the dining room, kitchen, and the loft that contained more sleeping space. We were able to stay up late playing cards in the dining room and get up early to make breakfast without disturbing the people on the "quiet side". The owners, Alan and Jean were very accommodating and stocked the house well! We had brought a lot of our own things (beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella) and discovered we didn't need to. The view from many of the windows is spectacular and provided a nice cool breeze, however, the house had air conditioners that cooled the house down when it did get warm. We would love to plan another family gathering at this beautiful home.

Just returned from a stay at this lovely cabin. Right on the water, in the forest, beautiful, and peaceful.

Excellent accommodation and very attentive hosts

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for a reunion of 6 high school friends. The location was perfect and the property was well maintained and provided a sense of privacy on beautiful Green Bay. It was nice to be close to Sister Bay yet not right in town. The house was well furnished with anything needed for cooking, relaxing, and even for rainy days if needed. This would work well for a family or groups of friends like ours. The owner was very responsive to all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for others.

This was an incredibly beautiful home. It did not feel like a rental but rather a lovingly, cared for home that was lent to us for the week. Every possible need was anticipated. The grill provided a great option if you did not want to go out and the sunsets from the beach were spectacular. Thank you, Alan and Jean for letting us stay at your place. We will definitely come back again.
