Escape to this adorable cabin retreat nestled on 5 acres amidst oak trees. Enjoy some peace and quiet, a beautiful sunset and watching the native deer from the back deck after a day of exploring the Texas Hill Country or 290 Wine Trail. This vacation home feels like a remote escape, but is just a mile away from the center of town.. With comforts such as a fully stocked kitchen, A/C and heat, high end beds and linens, a leather sofa queen sleeper, a Keurig coffee maker with an assortment of coffees and teas, WiFi and satellite HDTV you will want to come back time and time again. Whether a romantic week-end escape or a family affair this is the perfect place for a week-end getaway or longer term stay. Located just one mile from downtown Johnson City where you will find wine-tasting, antique shopping, restaurants and art galleries as well as the LBJ National Historical Park and the LBJ boyhood residence. Take a short drive and explore Pedernales Falls, an exotic zoo, the 2nd most visited wine country in the USA, the German settlement of Fredericksburg, TX and many more attractions. Put your boots on and head down to the Pecan Street Brewery on Sat and Sun night where there is usually a local band playing in the Biergarten. Back at the cabin, relax in a park-like setting under the oaks or on the back deck watching the deer and beautiful Texas sunset. At night, enjoy stargazing just outside the door. Our home away from home is a place where you can get away from it all. The cabin sleeps as many as 6 people very comfortably.
This vacation home is a tribute to the owners passion for enjoying this region.
This cozy cabin was very clean and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to fix a meal and we started each day with a good breakfast. We did see a few deer and enjoyed sitting outside in the morning with coffee and in the evening when the weather cooled down. We took the advice of others in their comments and had dinner at Pecan Street Brewing and were glad we did. We also visited the Texas Hills Winery which is very close to town. The cabin is a in a great location for visiting many different attractions like LBJ ranch, Fredericksburg, Blanco and others. The only suggestion I have is that if you are visiting when the weather is hot, you might want to bring an extra fan for the master bedroom. We found the bedroom to be a little warm even with the ceiling fan so we bought a fan in town to pull the cooled air into the room. It cooled down at night and we slept very comfortably. The other bedroom and living area stayed nice and cool. We would love to come back for a visit in the spring or fall when the weather is cooler so that we could enjoy sitting outdoors on the nice deck or in the front rocking chairs. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the wildlife and the quiet of the country setting. We plan to return in the future for another visit.
The cabin was perfect for the two of us. Located in a quiet area, but close enough to town and not too far away from Fredericksburg. Very clean and had everything necessary for comfort.
Great location just outside Johnson City, so very convenient for local restaurants and shops. Johnson City has several great eateries. It's really changed since the last time I was there. We really enjoyed it! Easy to come and go from if touring the local wineries, the Garrison Brothers Distillery, or the LBJ Ranch. Peaceful and quiet ~ The Cabin itself was exactly as described. Everything we needed was right there. It was clean and inviting. Great for a couple, or even a small family.
Would definitely recommend, and plan to return for a girls weekend in the early Fall.
I spent a 3 day weekend at the Cozy Cabin and it was the perfect place to come back to after touring local wineries. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. There was plenty of closet and storage space. The weather turned cold while we were there and the combination AC/heater worked great to keep the cabin cool or warm whenever necessary. The back deck was a lovely place to sit and view the hill country scenery, as well as the local wildlife.
The cabin itself is located just on the outskirts of Johnson City, making it convenient to participate in the local culture. Johnson City has some wonderful shops and restaurants, and is always one of my favorite towns to visit in the Austin area. There are lots of local festival/celebrations during the year. As close as we were to the city, though, we saw many deer and a wild turkey on the property which made the stay even more pleasant. You get the best of both worlds with the Cozy Cabin.
My family loved the stay at the cabin get a way. I had my two kids and the mother-in-law with me and we all fit comfortably. The mother in law was a little apprehensive when we got there but all tensions were relieved when she went in and found that the space was very clean and up to her standards. (Thank God!). The amenities like the coffee machine and full kitchen made including pots and pans made us feel at home. Would do it again.
Stayed at Cozy Cabin (well named) for 2 wks and loved it! Very quiet and peaceful.... Enjoyed wildlife morning and night. Walked in to Johnson City from cabin on several occasions and saw sights. Went to most of Hill Country and slept well on comfortable bed! Everything provided at cabin! Looking forward to returning!
